MINISTER TO INSPECT PRODUCTION PLANTS
With increasing militancy among Western war pigs in Great Engellex, Carentania, and the EDF and the aggression by the white devils of the Oceanic States, War Minister Chao Xiuying has been tasked with inspecting the nations military production facilities to determine the nations potential war time efficiencies, rapidity of economic mobilization, and assess overall workforce trends.

"It is a great honor to do this for my country," the War Minister stated Thursday, "At all times we must be aware of the greater situation we find ourselves in. We are a stranded beacon of freedom, in every direction we find enemies. Now, more people seek to inflame the politics of the East, and we must be prepared."

While the ghosts of the West seek to expand their imperial ambitions, Keidan aggression continues along the border - the demagogues of Jiankang are content to press forward with their plan for a great conquest of the free peoples of Yujin. Perhaps even more sinister, the liars and thieves, the scum of the shadows who reside in Kilkila plot to undermine the good governance of the People in Yujin, and overthrow order in exchange for the rampant chaos of mob rule and extreme inequality. In the face of despotism, imperialism, and communism, Yujin must always stand vigilant.

CD AND ZGD DEFY ZD, PRESIDENT
The Chidang and Zhenguodang have once again trounced a recent push by the Zhongdang after nearly a year of campaigning by the President and his ZD party to mobilize the legislature in favor of a reduction in troop levels along the Keidan border in increments of 10,000. The move was designed to coincide with a similar de-escalation on the Keidan side, however the failure of the motion to pass, combined with the unwillingness to compromise on behalf of the PDF 元帥 Yu Guozhi, it is unlikely that the President and the ZD will be able to push the motion further.

After nearly a year of campaigning to attract support from the CD and ZGD, who together control roughly 59% of the People's Assembly, capable of blocking any bill from passing to the Diet, which is only marginally more supportive of the ZD the trend of CD and ZGD cooperating to bring down initiatives by the ZD continues, while the two parties continue to struggle to find common ground to form their own coalition.

Despite some dissent among ZGD and CD representatives, party whips managed to keep control of enough of their respective parties, and ultimately dissent from within the ZD's own ranks caused the bill to be killed 108 to 142.

CHAIRMAN UNDER FIRE FROM ZGD
The Zhenguodang have increased criticisms of Chairman of the National Congress, Wenren Gerui, over weakness and cowardice in the face of Keidan aggression. The accusations came shortly after the failure of the ZD measure to diminish Yujin military presence along the border, and is likely to be the beginning of a campaign by the ZGD to rally CD opinion against the Chairman prior to an attempt to force the ZD and the President to appoint a new head of the legislative body. Mr Wenren has already maintained his office longer than any predecessor within the past decade, holding the seat of Chairman for fifteen consecutive months. Prior to the ascension of Mr Wenren, a vote of no confidence ousted Ao Langkun after a relatively short period of 6 months in office.

The Zhenguodang and Chidang are widely held responsible for preventing the government from acting on important domestic matters over the years, and have forces the Zhongdang centrist party to choose sides to appeal to. However, the Zhongdang party has lost popularity in recent years for affiliating itself too closely with the Chidang, and the Zhenguodang is expecting to see returns as the 2012 election process is set to begin.

The ZD and CD have unofficially cooperated in passing several important measures over the past fifteen months, including bills which would increase subsidies for several public sector corporations, increase minimum wages and compensation for government employees, and reduce utility costs. Criticism against these measures is provided largely by the populist appeal of the ZGD, which points to excesses in spending in pensions, unnecessary healthcare coverage, and failure of the CD to take a stronger stance against Keida. It is expected that national defense will continue to remain the issue looming over the 2012 elections.

MORE WESTERN STATES LEGALIZE HOMOSEXUAL MARRIAGES
More nations in the West openly advocate homosexuality as legitimate and productive to society, despite an overall decrease in recent years in birth rates. As Western states continue to rely on immigration largely from poorer nations to maintain stable population growth, the governments of the West continue to betray their own people's interests with the hopes of preserving the rights of societies greatest saboteurs, homosexuals. Brettaine joins nations such as Eiffelland and the lecherous Carentanians in their embrace of the sexually unreproductive.

Acting against logic, under the false belief that such individuals are born deviant, Western states fail to recognize the parallels between national wealth and homosexual prevalence - obvious evidence against inherited deviancy. Also considering that homosexuality cannot be genetically passed down, as such relationships do not produce offspring, it is heterosexuality that is homosexualities saviour - continuing the paradox. Lost in such idealism, Western states also fail to realize that a growing percentage of their own populations are becoming increasingly intolerant of a growing number of immigrant youth who are viewed, by a growing right, as ingrates. The solution to such woes is simple: maintain societal purity and values by attacking sexual deviancy and teaching children the values of heterosexual reproduction at an early age. By maintaining social and moral integrity, a greater percentage of the nations population can be represented, and the true and proper order of things can be continued.

Political Tensions Heat Up as Elections Approach

Upcoming elections have caused turmoil within Yujin as parties deftly battle each other on policy and stances on major international issues alike. The current political battles are over international relations, with ZGD party leaders calling for unanimous denunciation of a so called 'EDF and Carentanian neo-imperialist plot', with some ZGD leaders going so far as to suggest that the EDF and Carentania, with their mutual partner Vangala, may seek to pursue such an agenda in the East. The ZD-CD Coalition has called for restraint and measured diplomacy on the issue, with many politicians considering recognition for the Solaren National Congress as a potential step towards pressuring the EDF towards an acceptable peace. Some analysts suggest that such a move in support of an organization popularly believed to be little more than an RDTO puppet might push the embattled ruling coalition further left ahead of the critical November elections, a move which could cost both parties votes.

The ZGD is appearing stronger in the polls than expected, nationalist rhetoric and stirring speeches made by charismatic candidates appealing to the populist sentiments of those living throughout the nation regardless of their partisanship have pushed the party ahead of the ZD and CD, with many ZD and CD voters unhappy with the ineffectiveness of the coalition which has cost both parties losses on critical issues. At the forefront of the battle, President Wu, a centrist President nominally aligned with the ZD, is expected to face a more difficult battle for the Presidency than expected. Despite being an incumbent, multiple strong candidates have announced their intention to push for the office, with Sun Jindiao and Yang Zidi bitterly contesting the ZGD primary. It is believed that the ZGD will move forward, choosing one to represent the Party within the National Congress, and another to press on as Presidential candidate.

Erstwhile, the war in Solaren continues to go awry, with civilian casualties mounting as ruthless EDF tactics indiscriminately target civilians and military personnel alike. President Wu of the ZD has denounced these tactics as "beyond total war", with strikes against unemployed civilians having no effect on the ability of Solaren to fight.

"This is bordering on genocide," Mr Wu stated at a press conference, narrating Yujin's official stance on the war. "When this war is over, I assure the people that Yujin will demand an investigation into this matter, and attempt international reform to prevent this travesty from afflicting the rest of the world. And to the EDF, I say 'shame on you.'" Yujin has announced it's intention to pull its ambassador from Eiffelland and Lorraine, in addition to Solaren, as a show of protest against the measures used in prosecuting the war. ZGD critics have derided the decision as 'not enough', and are calling for more immediate actions.

ZGD Strikes Blow to CD

With war raging throughout the Western hemisphere, and many paths to developed countries at risk for shipping by even neutral agencies, the demand for increased security measures both at home and abroad is now a central issue in the political campaign; an issue that the ZGD has a clear lead in.

ZGD officials have repeatedly called for increased military expenditures, notably an expansion in the naval and modernization of the Armed Forces; proposals which have been repeatedly shot down by the center-left coalition. Now, with merchants abroad fearing reprisals for passing through certain waters, despite Breotish assurances, the demand for security forces to exert their pressures outside of Yujiner regional waters is greater than ever.

Sun Jindiao, contending the Presidential candidacy for the ZGD, has argued in favor of an expansion of the military's role in economic life, advocating an armed presence throughout the Long Sea and even into the Implarian in an effort to dissuade "ham-fisted foreign influences" from influencing economic life. ZGD Party leader Yang has also pressed for an expansion of the military; however continues to tout a focus on ground-forces and an expansion of ground-based long-range weapons systems.

Vangalan Newsmedia Ignites Row Over Military Expenditure

Military expenditure is now the forefront issue of the elections, with the ZD and CD opposing ZGD politicians over a issue which polls suggest the majority of Yujin people believe strongly in. Independent polling has shown that the majority of Yujin citizens are in favor of some levels of increased military expenditure, especially in lieu of recent Vangalan military remarks and the escalation of the war with global conflict expanding to Zadar-Istria.

Many citizens are fearful that Vangala may become involved in the war, and that the increased military activity may negatively impact Yujin, which has thus far maintained a neutral stance in the conflict. The popular support in favor of increased expenditure has increased pressure on the ZD and CD to change their stances, with rifts between the two parties threatening to be divided further.

However, the new reports out of Vangala have caused an upset within the ranks of the pro-military ZGD, with presidential hopeful Sun Jindiao falling behind Yang Wuyi, leader of the ZGD. Mr. Sun has advocated an expansion of Yujin's naval commitment with the intent to protect the nations assets overseas, but reactionaries within the Party are fearful of Vangalan aggression, and have turned to Mr. Yang, who has advocated an expansion of ground forces and long range weapon systems.

Currently, the ZGD leads the race with a total of 46% of support, with the ZD usurping the CD for second with 29%, and the CD falling to 25%. The ZD-CD coalition was formed in 2005, in which time the CD has fallen by 18%. This shift shows that escalating tensions throughout the world have negatively impacted the CD's levels of supports, with many citizens blaming the CD for a decline in growth associated with global conflict. Yujin still maintains a growth rate of 3%, down from 6.3% in 2008.

The Yujinese military and True Nation Party continue to conspire to undermine the spirit and independence of the Vangalan people. Propaganda about Vangala preparing for war will be swiftly rejected by the international community. The People's Republic has consistently upheld a line of neutrality and has been critical of both military actions in Solaren and Engellexic-Cantignian Imperialism. We will not tolerate ultra-nationalist attempts to cause war in our region.

ZGD Chooses Presidential Nominee

With less than two weeks left before the November elections, Sun Jindiao has been defeated in his bid for his Party's nomination, with Yang Wuyi running for office in the ZGD's biggest opportunity to unseat the center-left coalition since it took power in 1994. During the nomination hearing, Mr. Sun attracted attention by calling Mr. Yang's stance on the RDTO and EDF's expanding influence in Toyou "weak and unfocused", but ultimately Yang won favour by demanding state investments in 'key' industries, accompanied by military spending increases that will allow the Yujin military to retain it's competitiveness with the Vangalan armed forces.

President Wu, who's position has become insecure due to the ZGD's increasing popularity and his own Party's partisanship and leftward shift, has called Yang a "radical who threatens regional stability at a time where peace is Yujin's most valuable asset."

Tensions with Vangala continue to grow as the August Catastrophe extends into its fourth month, and the scope of the conflict brings Vangala's nominal allies in the EDF and RDTO into conflict with what many Yujiner believe to be Yujin's traditional zone of protection. President Wu has taken steps to denounce these actions, such as the withdrawal of ambassadors to numerous EDF states, but critics have said that this is not enough, noting that the global conflict has reduced Yujin's economic growth to 3%, the lowest point in several decades.

Opinion: ZGD Economic Policy, Challenging the Status Quo

For the past 16 years the center-left coalition has slowly guided the already left-leaning economy further left, imposing regulations, taxes, and other burdens on workers and investors alike. Foreign businesses sought haven in a number of industrial estates along the coastal cities, but these locations restricted access to local competition in an attempt to encourage foreign investment. But in the current state of global affairs, with wars raging throughout Europe, the economy which was designed to attract foreign investment is perhaps Yujin, and the center-left coalitions', biggest blunder.

The ZGD believes that there is a solution to Yujin's economic woes, however. Because of the growth spurred by foreign investment, the Yujin economy has transformed over the past several decades into something organic and tenable. With the world at war, perhaps now is the time to encourage domestic growth and a focus on Yujin's burgeoning consumer base. Increasing living standards and production mean that Yujin is quickly becoming a viable market for products, and the country has been transitioning into the tertiary sector for some time. The ZGD platform suggests that by alleviating the tax burden and allowing domestic investors to dictate market growth, instead of state investment, that economic growth can continue despite icy world relations. What's more, large corporations both foreign and domestic are drawn to the ZGD platform of diminished regulations and corporate taxes nation-wide, which would allow factories to open up in places previously unheard of and allow a wider portion of the Yujiner population to be employed outside of agriculture, an area traditionally loyal to the left which has become a contentious battleground between the two parties in recent weeks.

After 30 years of transition into a state-administered economy, however, the question becomes: are the ZGD's ambitions too lofty? How much will they be able to accomplish if they can not gain a workable majority in the Provincial Senate? Will they be able to hold onto power long enough to enact reforms before the economic decline topples their own power base as well? These are questions the optimistic electorate has opted to ignore as elections approach, with hopeful workers and investors alike looking to challenge the status quo and shake up the Yujin economy.

ZGD Accused of Political Thuggery

President Wu, with members from his center-left coalition, have called out the ZGD on its actions in numerous provinces in recent days. Accusing the right-wing party of attempting to hinder the democratic process, the CD and ZD have accused the ZGD of exercising its paramilitary wing of attempting to shut down polling stations or dissuade numerous unions from participating in elections in provinces likely to vote for the CD and ZD Monday.

"This is contrary to what our nation stands for," President Wu stated, adding that "this brutish method is a shameful display of the ZGD's desperate attempts to gain power."

The ZGD has denied the accusations, instead stating that their political opponents are trying to disgrace them before elections with libelous and unfounded remarks. "They know that our time has come," stated presidential contender Yang Wuyi, "and their fearmongering is nothing more than a petty attempt to dissuade voters from choosing a better future for their country. The regime has lost touch with reality, and it is time for a change."

Most analysts believe that the elections will be close, and independent polling has shown that the ruling coalition and contending ZGD both have strong opportunities to retain, or gain, control of both the executive and the legislative organizations. Democratic watchdogs in the country, however, are wary that populist thugs may attempt to prevent voting in leftist provinces, and have vowed to maintain vigorous watch over the coming elections.

The People's Republic of Vangala continues to harbour great concerns about the democratic process and electoral system in Yujin. A return to power by the True Nation Party through strongarm tactics will not only destabilise Yujin, but the entire region.

Voting Begins, Early Results Show Stiff Competition

Voting began throughout the nation early this morning, with thousands of polling stations, protected by law enforcement and military units alike, opening up to crowds of eager voters. Despite accusations of violence by the ZD-CD, little violence on behalf of the ZGD has occurred thus far, and early results have been tallied and suggest that the elections will not be easily determined.

With the remainder of the day, declared a national holiday by law, still left to cast votes, early results have shown that party trends in numerous provinces have continued; however regions for potential change include the capital and the economic heart of Yujin, Lianzhou. Once strongholds on the CD, these urban areas with numerous workers have seen a backlash by businesses against proletarian policies instituted by the regime over the past decade. Additionally, rising poverty and economic stagnation has frustrated the working-class, which fears for job stability in a global economic downturn.

The Presidential election itself is also hotly contested, with the ZGD candidate Yang Wuyi taking the early lead as the CD-ZD coalition incumbent candidate loses critical mass to minor party candidates, likely a show by voters over dissatisfaction in coalition policies.

All votes will be accounted for and final tallies will be announced by Wednesday, with democratic watchdogs ensuring the process is smooth and final results are legitimate.
