Qiánlóng Emperor Celebrates 80th Birthday​ Today the huaxianese people celebrated as the Qiánlóng Emperor turned eighty years of age. This milestone comes after his Imperial Majesty recently celebrated his diamond jubilee two years ago, along with the marking of four decades of peace since the end of the War of Rebellion. Commonly known as the Qiánlóng Peace, the nation has remained peaceful over the past several decades with focus on rebuilding following the war. Renewed infrastructure projects and the opening of the economy back up to foreign investment, coupled with the baby boom following the end of hostilities, has led to the strong economic growth for the empire. However, as the Emperor has aged and many of the senior officials, also held over from the early war era, are also aging as well has caused a concern for the future. Many expect the emperor to not reign for many more years and despite the popularity of the Crown Prince Yongxiang, the change in leadership among the Grand Council to the next generation cause pause in which civil service member will ascend to the council. Some are even calling for the opening up of government to more liberal reforms mimicking the success of the economic platforms. As Huaxia commemorates another year in the life of the the Great Qiánlóng Emperor, the leaders of the empire need to focus on the transition into the future.

Unlike the various barbarians which shall immediately seek to make a quick profit off of your needs to fuel their own misguided ambitions, pathetically trying to make up with façades for what they lack in spirit, we merely wish to see that the only Empire in this world which is as old and proud as ours may survive and march ever onward, for solitude among barbarians is a fate worse than death for all Great Empires, as I am certain you know. Our industries are more than capable of producing and providing all the necessary materials for your modernisation, in equal, if not superior, quality and quantity to that of all others (and certainly in a better price), while we ourselves would not be opposed to aiding you in the construction of your own industries and in restructuring your army with the aid of our own officers, who staff the world's strongest military machine.

Let us carve a path for a better Europe, based on progress without the destruction of tradition, together. We eagerly await your response.

Crown Prince Opens New Port Expansion in Saigon​ HIH Crown Prince Yongxiang, was on hand to officially open the new port facilities in Saigon, Nanyue today. The multi-billion won port expansion, nearly doubling Saigon's port capacity, has been under construction for the past several years. The Saigon port expansion expounds the growing need as economic attention shifts toward the west and the Kalahari region and the increase need for modern facilities and necessary capacity. Saigon is the second largest port in Huaxia, and the largest in the Kalahari region, and as trade relationships continue to develop with regional neighbors the government felt the need to have appropriate facilities to meet up with expected increase demand. This expansion has the most recent sign of the rising economic importance of Nanyue province in the empire's overall economic plans. More and more people pour in from the rural Nanyue countryside into the province's major cities of Hanoi and Huế as well as Saigon, looking for more better means to make a living. This population migration has put local officials under immense pressure as to upgrade infrastructure and utilities to address the regions swelling numbers. The Imperial government has been weighing options to help local areas around the empire suffering from similar ailments as Nanyue. While the economic reforms of the post-civil war era have been called a success with tens of millions rising up to the growing middle-class and the creation of one of the largest economies on the planet, many in Huaxia are still left in poverty and dissatisfied with present government response. Economic growth continues to be the government's primary priority as it moves into the future.

Largest Human Migration in History​ The Interior Ministry released the final travel numbers for the New Year (Shenese New Year) holidays. Over 30 million Shenese traveled across the empire, going from the nations many cities back home to rural communities to visit families and friends. This year also saw a large influx of members of the Shenese diaspora abroad travel back to the mother country. The new year is one of Shenzhou's largest holidays for travel. Most people who left the rural areas to work in the growing cities return home during the nearly two week long holiday that begins with the traditional Shenese New Year and ends with the Lantern Festival. In the capital over 150,000 people joined in on the Lantern Festival at the Weiyang Palace marking the end of the festivities; releasing thousands of lanterns into the river and air. However, in spite of the new record set for human migration, the large increase in travelers exposed a growing problem in the empire's transportation network. The country's system of rails and roads proved inadequate to handle the volume of passengers and certainly will be unable to do so going into the future. Much of the modern infrastructure was built during and immediate after the rebellion wars over forty years ago. This network was built for the empire of the day and had not appropriately anticipated the growth and needs of the present population. The Interior Ministry is working on new plans to update the nation old and overworked infrastructure ahead of not only next year's travel season, but for those of the future generations.

The People's Republic of Varinia sees the Empire of the Great Shang as a true force in the east that brings stability and continuity to our world which is changing currently at such a fast pace that brings only suffering to the people living in it, as they cannot find the stability and tranquility their ancestors had. Varinia would cherish a closer relationship with Shenzhou, such a thing being only natural in our world that is becoming smaller and smaller by the soar of technology that makes travel, business and communications much easier than it ever was in the history of mankind.

The Varinian people has always been fascinated by the oriental cultures of Toyou and have always been attracted to it's music, theater and cuisine. In the last thirty years, a whole cultural wave in Scania swept the continent and popularized the concepts, principles, religions and cultures of Toyou. This cultural wave has brought down many barriers that were kept up by the colonialist and imperialist Kingdom of the Varinians of a self styled Western superiority, which was time and time again dismantled not only in the political, economic and academic levels by also on a mass level, by the liberalization of the society and the fascination of all the foreign cultures that exist in the world whom we do not understand as of yet.

To foster a better understanding between Varinia and Shenzhou, the Minister of Transportation of Varinia wishes to create a series of routes for Nord Airlines, the flag carrier of the People's Republic of Varinia, between Hartem and Shangqiu.

Eiffellandian engineering companies would like to help Shenzhou with constructing and reconstructing roads and railways throughout the country. These companies prefer to send in their own engineers if they get the opportunity to work in Shenzhou, but for the remainder they will use local companies and employ local staff for the construction works.

The Eiffellandian airliner Luftfahrt Eiffelland is also interested in establishing a air connections from and to Shenzhou.

Empire Signs Historic Alliance​ Today in the Imperial Capital of Shangqiu, Yomogita and Shenzhou signed a historical alliance between the two Empires. In a meeting between the empires, delegations met at the Daxing Palace in the outskirts of Shangqiu to discuss how the two states could work together for regional peace and security. The alliance, the Touyou Security Alliance (TSA), was formalized between not only Yomogita and Shenzhou, but also included Toungoo, a protectorate of Shenzhou since the beginning of the century. The alliance has two main missions: to maintain regional security and to foster economic cooperation between the member-states. The first mission of the TSA is to protect the security and peace of the nations of Touyou. To accomplish this mission the alliance outlines several programs for the members to institute. National intelligence services will begin a system of intelligence sharing as well as a joint intelligence group. There will also require an increase in cooperation between the Yomogitan and Shenese militaries, through, the organization of joint military exercises in both land and sea. They will also enact an officer exchange programs so that both nations may learn from each other. The second mission of the TSA is to foster closer economic ties as prosperity brings peace. Memberstates will enact measures to reduce tariffs as well as other trade barriers between them. Also a joint commission will oversee and adjudicate trade disputes between Yomogita and Shenzhou. Each nation will also establish a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) to help facilitate foreign investment into the region; Shenzhou has already designated the city of Suzhou, the empire's largest city and major port, as Shenzhou's SEZ. The imperial government may consider the creation of more SEZs in the future. Also both nations have pledged to cooperation and coordinate resources in helping each other build infrastructure projects. Lastly, the delegates finalized the mission statement for the alliance. What is becoming known as the Daxing Doctrine that will serve as the guiding principle of the new alliance and set the future of Touyou. Daxing Doctrine "The nations of Touyou declare that all Western powers shall, henceforth, no longer interfere in the domestic affairs of Touyou states; nor will the acquisition or submission of Touyou states as colonies by Western states be further tolerated in Touyou; any Western power who violates this disposition will be seen as a hostile influence and actor by the nations of Touyou."​ With the signing of the Touyou Security Alliance, the government of Shenzhou hailed it as a "Great step forward for Touyou" and the nations of the region pledging to ensure the the peace and tranquility of Touyou will be preserved from future generations.
