To the Most Illustrious Grand Duke Guido III and His Ministers,

I write to you as one would to a respected member of family, a distant relative who deserves the most applause. Though we have had little discussion with your Grand Duchy as a national entity, there is no doubt that our peoples ultimately share a great heritage, that of our cultural ancestors in the mighty Tiburan Empire.

As you are well aware, the situation here in Danmark, which has so graciously hosted my government and I for the past three decades, has become one most dire. And that foul cabal, which overthrew my father and pretentiously continues to use the moniker "Halls of Giecz" to refer to themselves rather than its rightful holder, even they realise that the safety once provided by the Danish Imperium is now but a phantom of memory.

All Sarmatians living here in Danmark have been called to come home. All, except my government and I. For we have no place in the Mezhist Union. And just as they continue to shun us, we desire no place in that violent regime, which has forcibly taken the reins of the sacred homeland and perverted it into a monstrosity that glorifies the rule of a rabid mob of treasonous soldiers.

My government has been making preparations to vacate this increasingly dangerous land, and though I am most distraught to be leaving what over the years has become my second home, my ministers insist that my safety and that of my family is of the utmost priority.

As a fellow child of the Tiburan Empire, and as a fellow Head of State, I humbly request that you allow the Swieczieman Imperium, the rightful government and stewards of the sacred homeland Swiecziema, to relocate to and operate from within the Grand Duchy of Potenza, if only for the interim.

At this point, all we have to offer in exchange is our friendship and goodwill. But know that in harbouring us, you will have done a great deed for the lands of Sarmatia, and when comes the time, the Sarmatian people will remain eternally grateful to you for all you have done for them.

This I swear on my honour and to God.

It is the honor of the Potenzan foreign ministry to speak for His Royal Majesty, Grand Duke Guido III, and address Her Royal Majesty Gabryjela II. We will gladly host the Swieczieman Imperium - yourself, your family, and your ministers - in San Salvo, at the Grand Duke's behalf. Because of the conflict with the Mezhist Union and the past of your royalty, this may have to be temporary, but we will accommodate any transitions you may have to endure.

You will be protected at our embassy in Danmark, and will be protected by a team of Folgore who will go to Danmark and escort you to the Grand Duchy via airplane, where you will be greeted by our government and hosted by the Grand Duke himself at the royal palace.

If there are any other requirements or necessities, please let us know.

To the Honourable Foreign Minister Gian Lombardo,

I thank you and His Royal Majesty for the quick response, and apologise for the short notice with which we sent this request.

I understand the circumstances which surround your decision, and thank you for accommodating us. These these arrangements are entirely acceptable, and we will be completing the preparations for our exodus to Potenza in short order.

I have tasked Prime Minister Wysocki with searching for a more permanent host, which hopefully should not take too long. We do not wish to burden you by being pretentious enough to overstay. By agreeing to our request, you have already given us grace that we shall never forget.

May God bless the Grand Duchy.

Sub: Acceptance of Request to Host Swieczieman Imperium in Exile

Your Royal Majesty,

It has come to our attention that your government has been in communication with the government in exile of the Swieczieman Imperium, which once controlled the territory of what is now known as the Mezhist Union, and have agreed to host them in light of the unfortunate descent of Danmark into chaos and anarchy. It is my duty to assure you that this will have absolutely no negative impact on the relationship between our two states.

While the Union's Director of International Affairs might have to publicly denounce your harbouring of the Imperium in Exile, his statements will have no bearing at all on how we relate with the Grand Duchy. I would love to explain more, but there is only so much that can be accomplished through correspondence. I would instead suggest that you discuss the matter with the Imperium in Exile's Prime Minister, Mr. Borys Wysocki, once he arrives in Potenza. I believe he is the best person to enlighten Your Royal Majesty with regards to this unusual affair.

We look forward to continued cooperation with the Grand Duchy of Potenza, and wish only the best.

The Grand Duchy thanks the Nadzorca for their words of clarification, though we are somewhat curious as to what exactly the situation is. We are not looking for any conflict with the Mezhist Union in any way, and greatly desire to see friendly relations between our two powers maintained, as they always have been since the union's inception. We will speak with the prime minister as soon as he arrives and is greeted by the Grand Duke. His Royal Majesty will then speak to Prime Minister Gaetano Merlino to make sure all wings of the government are informed about this particular and unique situation.
