Anything outside of Gallia-Germania is effectively ignored and disregarded. Though the time period probably also doesn't help.

This is a bit of a misnomer - Boliatur's Revolution received a ton of attention, as did the Yujin Civil War - I think the actual problem is getting as many active players over there in the East all at the same time like the G.G. has. Edit: even that doesn't always happen, look at the entire German area (excluding Eiff) where it's a graveyard of inactive or NPC nations.

I wasn't there to see either of those two events unfolding. The last significant IC attention Toyou has received was the massacre in Touzen, which I suppose wasn't necessarily that far from the present.

It is indeed an actual problem about active player count. I personally feel this will always be the case since many players would vastly prefer playing a European country. I'm sure there are plenty of other people who would like to experiment with non-European ones, but that's what I think anyways. And with how fewer active countries there are in Toyou and the cultural difference from Europeans, the less attractive it becomes for future players. Supposedly Seora and Mellarmia would help make Toyou a bit more bearable on activity, but its too early to tell.

If a map revision were to occur once again, I wonder if we would advocate for a map similar to the one we have in geographical composition or something similar to past maps.

I think I had stated this before, but I did think in playing a kind of sino-nipponic country in the game similar to Nationalist China of chiang kai-shek. The main difference is, I'm not very much into the chinese and japanese culture, and due that lack of knowledge about I'm afraid that wouldn't sound authentic.
I could try, but I'm not very good at controlling two countries at the same time. I have done it once, and it was awful for the RP.
