Angliarique Peace League (APL)​

About
First convened in 1949, the APL sought to end the constant racial strife and violence apparent between Angliarisians and Spascirians.

It achieved its goal in some regard, gaining a semblance of peace between the two societies, in what has been named by historians as the Enactment of Peace.

At present day, the APL concerns itself with foreign and domestic affairs, all the while promoting peaceful resolution to conflicts and crises under the banner, that is the Spirit of Peace.

Principles of the APL

1. The Spirit of Peace is the Supreme Resolution to all conflicts between states and peoples.

2. The advancement of peace shall be the highest contribution a member can make.

3. Peace must be advocated in everyday life.

4. No party, individual, or group, shall be a member if they are presently engaged in activities detrimental to Art 1, 2 & 3.

About the Founder:
Sir Lutoune is a senior diplomat in the Angliarique Foreign Affairs Cabinet, and works for the cabinet as its Vice-President.
He is the oldest figure of Angliarique politics still alive and serving at 106 years of age.
Sir Lutoune is often viewed by Angliarisians as an outspoken pacifist and peace advocate.
His commitment to national security and regional peace have been recognised by the Angliarique Emperors, and his contributions to peace advocacy through the APL have led to a much safer domestic political environment.​

On the Radilan-Ebrian Tensions ​

The Angliarique Peace League (APL) convened today, reaching full quorum of 77 physical voting representatives.
The representatives of individual members, political associations, and various NGOs, debated over a resolution to urge the Radilan leadership not to conduct hostile operations against the Crown of Ebria. The resolution passed unanimously.

The Angliarique Peace League is tremendously appalled by the sudden and needless threat of open hostility initiated by the Radilan leadership and its military, against the Crown of Ebria. We stand with the spirit of peace and urge for calm, and do urge for the relevant parties to seek dialogue over open war, that most certainly will engulf the wider region.

On the Radilan-Pelasgian War​

The Angliarique Peace League (APL) convened (an emergency session) under the advise of the Secretary-General, Sir Lutoune, in order to conduct a debate on the recent military conflict in Aresura. This marks a significant event in the APL's long history, as it is the first time, two assemblies have been convened, less than a week apart, which also indicates the seriousness of the APL in observing current affairs.

The debate focused on Resolution M-2/2024/S-100 (proposed by the Laurel Peace Club), that included points of condemnation against the Radilan leadership, and calls for the Radilan Military to cease hostilities. In addition, the resolution also saw points advocating the principles of peaceful reconcilliation, and also a point demanding His Grace the Regent, to intervene in the crisis.

The debate lasted for 7 hours, and saw the views of all 77 delegates of the assembly. The resolution was approved by 49-28 votes. But, vetoed by the Secretary-General, on grounds that it contained a demand that would put the Royal Family in an unpleasant situation, and may even contravene certain security laws.

On Attack Against Humanitarian Assistance​

The sudden and brutal attack against givers of humanitarian aid en route to Avila, is indeed deeply disturbing.

The Ebrian Republicans display their open contempt for civilian lives, and more so, are not afraid to hide their ever repulsive crimes against humanity. With this horrific revelation, as I understand it, the Republican Forces will not stop until they have killed all of Ana Isabel Gallego’s remaining opposition.

The so-called Ebrian Republic, that has promised to its people, the preservation of democracy, will soon under come horrific tyrannical rule if nothing is done to halt the advance of the Republican Forces. Gallego’s republic has gone to the dogs.

APG Commended For Freedom Efforts​

The Angliarique Peace League will commend the Angliarique Permanent Government led by the Chancellor, Lord Banker.

The Banker Government has proven its determination to uphold the principles of racial and religious freedom across the Angliarique Empire, as well as preaching goodwill to the Spascirian Republic.

The efforts of the Interior Army to transport and escort the Spascirian population back to their rightful homeland, is deeply moving and patriotic.

Today, father is united with mother. Tomorrow, children, father, and mother, are united under one family.

This is the great result of the Banker Government in its resolution of Angli-Spasci disputes. The Briutine Accords are an excellent template for compromise, a compromise on all parties for universal peace. And, God Willing, a cure-all for the plague of violence that continues to haunt the world.

On Tian-Fed War Threats​

On behalf of the Angliarique Peace League, I am expressing the considerable disappointment of the APL, due to renewed threats of total war, that the Westernesse Federation and Tianese Republic, have expressed over the recent establishment of a Humanitarian Naval Service Checkpoint (by Aid-Providers) in various areas of concern.

Access to plight befallen areas is critical to ensuring the preservation of civil order, and universally-held attributes of humanity. The blatant disregard that the Tian-Fed warmongers have for the plight of the Ebrian people, must not be forgotten.

The APL stands on the side of humanity, and deeply insists for both nations not to fan the flames of a conflict, that can be contained. And further, we urge both nations not to pull Europe into the despair of World War.

LPC Delegate to Attend Roundtable

The Laurel Peace Club is always optimistic when it comes to the subject of the Empire’s foreign relations with its neighbours.

The defining moment of Angli-Thaum relations has never been the controversial tit-for-tat dialogues, but the converging aims of both our countries to seek an immortal peace that can outlast us, such as now.

This gathering for peace must encompass our cultural, religious, and civil differences, for there to even be a possibility for the Spirit of Peace to endure.

And since, it appears that the Roundtable believes it too that such understanding can be made, the LPC will be sending a delegate to attend the Roundtable.

But, attendees must note that the delegate cannot functionally represent the views of the Angliarique Empire, nor act as a representative of the Permanent Government. Despite these limitations, the LPC sincerely believes that this invitation is a gesture of goodwill, and hopes too that the attendees hold the same belief.

Dear Lord Banker,

I hope this letter finds you well, just a few hours ago, as you certainly may well have heard. The Premier of the Spascirian Republic, in his publicly broadcasted speech, made incendiary remarks against Angliarisians.

This cannot stand dear Chancellor. This is a violation of the social contract implicitly established during the lead-up to the Briutine Accords. The wisdom known throughout the Empire, that none should again bring up the religious struggle of both peoples.

Dear Chancellor, I implore you meet with the Premier of Spasciria, let him know the fullest extent of our waning tolerance, let him know, let his people know, that us Angliarisian men and women, will have death meet them if they so choose to revive this dead strife.

On the Alleged Disposal of ADDs in Ebria
​

The Angliarique Peace League (APL) convened (an emergency session) under the advice of the Secretary-General, Sir Lutoune, in order to conduct debate on the alleged use of Active Dispersal Devices (ADDs) in Ebria. This marks a significantly bleak milestone for the organisation and the world, as the APL convened for three sessions of emergency in One single year to debate over a foreign conflict, a first for the APL.

The debate focused on Resolution M-3/2024/S-101 (proposed by the Parry Peace Society), that included points questioning the credibility of reports that ADDs were used indiscriminately or at all, in Ebria. Furthermore, the proposal included a clause that would compel the assembly to adopt a united and cohesive stance over the Ebrian Intrigue.

The debate lasted for 14 hours, and heard speeches from all 77 delegates of the assembly. Subsequently, the resolution was approved by 45-32 votes. However, it was vetoed by the Secretary-General, on grounds that the clause compelling a united stance conflicted directly with the APL’s democratic modus operandi.
