REPUBILIKA YA KATIOPIA
REPUBLIC OF CATHIOPIA

AMFUNDU -- SECRET

TO: CANTIGNIA

SUBJECT: EASTERN CAPE COLONY

FOR THE EYES OF FOREIGN MINISTER ORSON TALBOT AND HIS OFFICE ONLY

Esteemed Colleague,

First, may I praise you and your office for your vigorous assertion of the right of native Himyaris to live free and fulfilled lives independent of foreign rule. Cantignian contributions to the Conference on Decolonisation in Nkalamenga were warmly received by Cathiopians of all standing. Cantignian participation in the newly-established International Commission on Decolonisation will also have such a welcome.

Second, I must speak frankly on our emerging relationship with the Communist bloc. The Republic of Cathiopia has grave concerns regarding the intentions of Carentania and its allies in the Eastern Cape colony. It is my sincere belief Cantignia must share many too.

Cantignia must have recognised Carentanian intervention elsewhere has resulted in the installation of a new regime ideologically similar to Carentania. From Solaren to Vangala, and now from Yujin to Seora, we are witnessing the creation of an informal empire.

Cathiopia will not stand idly by and watch our brothers and sisters in Himyar exchange a colonial over-lord for a socialist slave-master.

Cantignia must understand the 'Scientific socialism' and materialism of Carentania and its allies are deeply alien to the values of the Himyari people, who possess a great natural spiritualism. The oppressed and downtrodden of Himyar yearn for Christ's salvation.

As beacons of Christ's light, Cathiopia and Cantignia must co-operate to spread the message of the Gospel to the unevangelised. As bastions of Republican liberty, Cathiopia and Cantignia must co-operate to spread democracy to the disenfranchised.

My Office and I require no expressed gratitude for doing our duty, in reality the duty of all Christian men and women, to recognize the right of Himyari to Himyar itself. It has never been a question of right or wrong for us because the equality of God's children be they painted black, white, or otherwise is in itself manifest of a true Christian Brotherhood. Writing frankly: I was elected to the Covenant Commission from a minority party called 'Friends for the New Republic'. As a Foreign Officer I serve the Lord Commissioner, a Christian Nationalist himself who while shares the fundamental view of Cathiopian & Himyari Liberty, has no true passion or commitment to the issue beyond what I can realistically illustrate as his policy and the will of the Covenant in Himyar.

Communism is on the rise within the Friendly Confines, and there will be no revolution or civil war to see it through. Our Cantigian right has not the stomach or resources to resist the popular weight of an imminent crimson tide. By doing nothing I believe we can minimize the bloodshed and suffering that is all too familiar at this point for Cantigian soil; a Communist Cantignia is inevitable, though God willing it will be a peaceful Christian Communist Cantignia that does not desecrate the goodwill of our Covenant with Christ. I believe in my mind and my heart that this Covenant will survive the Red Rise, and promise personally if I survive it all that Cantigian independence from Carentanian Lordship over the other Communist nations will not define the Covenant or its wider Himyari policy.

It is my intent and indeed the policy of this office to prioritize Church communities (not workers communities), and All Himyari Peoples & Patriots (not Himyari Communists exclusively). I naturally feel what I believe is a shared willingness to cooperate with the Cathiopian Minister on these policies, and a publicly unspoken pact to monitor and guide a fair spread of republic to the Eastern Cape and other realms of Himyar.

Following the Light,
Mister Orson Talbot,

Foreign Secretary,

Chairman of Friends for the New Republic,
Deacon of Clairvaux Community Church
