The Aurarian Merchant Marine is a large fleet consisting of privately owned ships that are under the regulation of the Aurarian Maritime Coordination Agency. The Merchant Marine is responsible for transporting passengers and cargo during times of peace and, in times of war, functioning as an auxiliary fleet to the Aurarian Navy for the transport of troops or other equipment.


SERVICES

Commerce
Once contracted, the Merchant Marine will carry goods from or to Auraria from any port around the world. Also, all ships registered under the Merchant Marine will be allowed to dock at Aurarian ports without interruptions, however, all things or persons leaving the ships will still be subject to customs, unless within a free trade zone.

Protection
All ships flying the flag of the Aurarian Merchant Marine will be considered under the protection of the Aurarian Navy and an attack on the ship is an attack on the Aurarian State. Ships flying the flag may request military protection, such as soldiers onboard, or in extreme cases, naval escort. The Aurarian Navy also garuantees that the waters around the southern coast of Zulia-Santander shall remain free and safe for all commerce from all nations.
