Revolutionary Army Intelligence
Military intelligence service under authority of the Revolutionary Army Corps. Its main purpose is military intelligence and defense, but it also serves as Carentanias primary foreign intelligence service and is used to influence the political climate in foreign countries and support allied political factions abroad. The RAI is divided into different sections which perform different roles:
Section 1: Central Intelligence. Information from the different sections is gathered here, processed and distributed. It also provides dossiers for the government agencies to keep the political leadership informed of the RAI's current activities.
Section 2: Embedded intelligence officers within the military. They serve as link between the RAI and the combat units.
Section 3: Homeland defense. The counter-intelligence section of the RAI.
Section 4: Himyar
Section 5: Central Europe
Section 6: Toyou
Section 7: Interrogation. Linguistic specialists who interrogate prisoners and suspects to gather information. Sometimes operate undercover.
Section 8: Translation services.
Section 9: Forgeries and picture manipulation.
Section 10: Photo analysis. Experts who analyse pictures, e.g. from spyplanes.
Section 11: Smuggling. Experts for evading border customs and providing equipment to operations abroad.
Section 12: Political analysis. Assesses political developements of foreign states and stances of political groups.
Section 13: Guard section. Bodyguards for politicians during state-visits and for high-profile targets in undercover missions abroad.
Section 0: Political control. Entirely seperate subsection answering to the All-Workers Congress. Monitors RAI operations and ensures constitutionality.
Agency for Covert Investigations
Founded relatively recently as domestic intelligence service. Focus on counter-terrorism and organized crime, but has no executive authority. It investigates and researches the threat to public security by clandestine groups, attempts to infiltrate them and cooperates with militia forces to stop them. The ACI is mainly intended to fight Mezhist terrorism.
Industrial Intelligence Agency
Specializes in the procurement of technology. This is, quite unabashedly so, an intelligence agency for industrial espionage. A fact which the Carentanian government has not even tried to deny. Meanwhile the IIA also defends against foreign attempts at industrial espionage.
