Voyagers Eviscerate and Dethrone New Dulwich Imperials
The Scandinavium in Fästning Christina

Results: Imperials 110 - 140 Voyagers

The Carolburg Voyagers arrived in their ancestral homeland like a lightning bolt, routing The New Dulwich Imperials in a 140-110 blowout at the the Scandinavium in Fästning Christina. The Commonwealth Basketball teams were playing in their first ever international game, and the first of a series that will take them from Franken to Frescania over the course of march.

"We were definetly the home team, we felt that from the crowd" Voyagers coach Hans Edbom said after the game. "We were well received in a city, and in a country, that so many of us have dreamed of since we were kids."

Sunday's win over the Imperials compounded a successful start to the Voyagers' preseason, after defeating the Imperials likewise in Nya Västergötland on Friday, where again they were more or less the home team.

"You start to get the sense that the sporting world has gotten much more interconnected when Cantigians are playing downunder style basketball in the historical and geographic north of Europe. This was a profound opportunity, and the Voyagers made the most of it tonight."

Era of the Goon Perishes Overseas

In the final six games before Commonwealth Basketball touches down the Cannie Motherland, one bruise battered lesson was learned for fans everywhere: franchises with fighting, or "goon", styles of play went down for the count in an 0-5 record against teams with "finesse" strategies. As the League exposes itself to audiences across the world, a new fanbase demands a cleaner compromise between one of Europe's fastest and most violent professional sports.

"For the first time we have shown that raw talent can trump mere toughness on the hardcourt," Metropolitans Coach Ross Oglivey told reporters in Breotonia, "Fighting will always have a place in our sport, but we are swiftly departing from the days of career ending brawls for some of our most talented players."

As Suion-Colonial investors consider raising a basketball franchise in Suionian Oceania, and five Cannie cities prepare to prop up their own rosters, sports analysts are expecting to see a fundamental evolution in the direction of speed over strength in future teams.

Commonwealth Basketball League Commissioner Clint Madrick called the results of international play "far from surprising," saying that "bare knuckle brawlers like the Westgate Brewers and First Haven Saints will adapt, or they will die.".
