It is to be recognised that while a ward of the Public Board of Trade, the services of Her Engellexic Majesty’s Diplomatic and Consular officers are utilized to the best advantage for the promotion of Engellexic trade, and the opening up of new markets for Engellexic exports.
The Northern and Southern Departments would be glad to receive any bodies or persons in the interest of supporting the expansion of commerce. The Government departments are, however, not in direct communication with the network of Chambers of Commerce.

As the Chancellor of the Chamber of Commerce of Great Engellex it is my explicit duty to encourage and nurture economic growth and investment to the Union of Great Engellex.
I believe that commerce, the most extended commerce, is pre-eminently the friend of peace, and that by the joint action of great countries to facilitate commerce in the simultaneous reduction of duties and to repeal protectionist laws - more will be achieved by those two acts to cement and perpetuate the friendly relations of Europe than by all the preceding acts and statues of national legislatures throughout.
The progression of trade between Great Engellex and her partners, allies and neighbours is a national policy that shall be fiercely maintained and achieved from reciprocally adopting the repeal and the reduction of duties between Great Engellex and all. Protective tariffs are the walls and partitions which separate men and nations, and they are the great causes of war, they are the enemies of peace, of progress, and of civilisation.
I believe that our mission in Europe shall not be taken alone - our mission to carry the blessings of free trade, of commerce, of civilisation, of civil and religious liberty, and of Christianity under the our flags all over the world.

Latest Commercial News :- HAMMERSMITH CITY DUES
A public meeting, convened by the Lord Mayor of Great Wixmouth, was held on Thursday at the Wixmouth Town Hall, for the purpose of adopting a petition to the Commons Assembly in favour of the bill introduced by the M.P. for Great Wixmouth for the abolition of passing tolls and the regulation of local dues on shipping. There was a large and influential attendance, the measure being regarded especially as the means of relieving the trade of this district and of the whole country, from the Hammersmith city dues.
Sir Richard Heels, the Lord Mayor of Great Wixmouth, presided.
The following resolution was adopted:
That the claim of the Royal Commissioned Corporation of Hammersmith to exact the payment of dues arbitrarily fixed, in respect of every article imported into, or exported, from the port of Hammersmith, without being under any legal obligation to expend any portion of the amount obtained in maintaing and improving the port, or for the benefit of shipping, is as unconstitutional in its nature as it is opposed in principle to all recognised law; and the exation of such dues to be expended for local and borough purposes, constitutes upon the trade and commerce of the nation a most vexatious and unjust tax, which, in the opinion of this meeting, ought to be abolished.
