President Mann has recently stated that he will continue the search for foreign or domestic training for the newly 'remodeled' armed forces. More interesting though, were his statements that he will do so without anymore taxes. This was of course in response to opposition stating that the Service Act will bankrupt our nation. His critics are already quite upset with his decision to keep the Service Act instead of repealing it as he stated in his campaign. A very controversial act in of itself; the Service Act has made it mandatory for all men to serve in the armed forces for at least two years. To add to the controversy, economists estimate that taking that many working men out of the workforce will destroy our export industries.
Documents of shady origins surfaced last week, with proponents claiming it as a Federal memo. This document claimed that the total cost of training and re-arming the now 'swollen' armed forces will cost in excess of fifty million dollars. Is this Act the beginning of the end for our way of life? Can Sequoyah maintain its claim to fame as a Libertarian paradise when its own men are forced into state approved violence? This reporter remembers a time when our citizens would have taken to the streets and rioted if they were forced to fight a war no one believed in. Why does the Federal government want tribal territory so bad? Is it truly because they wish to bring safety to the region? Only time will tell.
