    Trade Mission Landed

The Confederate Trade missions that were promised to be launched earlier in the week have finally begun to take hold with the first stop being in the neighboring country of Beautancus. The rumored topics of discussion will be the lowering of tariffs, the balance of trade, and opening up new doors for trade and business opportunities between the two neighbors. A Press release from the Chancellors Office did confirm that it is made up a senior representative from the Unicameral committee on Economic Development, some of her staff, and an unnamed business leader. When asked if any other nations have been confirmed to be on the docket for the trip w were informed that no others have been confirmed, but the officials responsible for this outreach have been looking towards other nations such as Sylvania, Azraq, and Eiffelland for starters.

    • More rain expected in the coming days. How much is too much moisture?
    • Planting behind schedule for over half of the country, could this cause crop prices to rise?
    • Army engineers put faith in the levees to keep holding thru the unusually wet summer.

    To Whom it May Concern,

In the interest of expanding the economic potential of the Thaumantic Domain as well as increase the special relationship of the nations that inhabit it, the Treaty Lands feel so compelled as to approach the Confederacy's new trade mission.

The Treaty Lands has always maintained an open embrace to commerce with all nations, with a particular focus on the Thaumantic. The markets of the Treaty Lands have consistently benefited from a robust infrastructure network, stable financial management, transparency, and a regulatory network designed to preserve and advance fair trade. The result is that the Treaty Lands remain a safe, lucrative area of investment.

To better facilitate cordial relations and an integration of commerce, it would be my pleasure to invite members of the Confederacy's trade mission to Clarenthia to meet with executives of the Commonwealth Import-Export Bureau. CoIMEX is specifically tasked with the coordination of foreign trade and ease of access. We believe that such a venture would prove beneficial.

We look forward to a favorable response.

    In mutual prosperity,

    A Sigh of Relief

It appears that the historic weather system that had been plaguing parts of the country for months has finally passed on giving a reprieve to farmers and citizens that live along many parts of the rivers and tributaries that feed them. Many rivers, tributaries, lakes, and damns were pushed to stressing points that could have caused even greater flooding had the systems to keep them in check had failed. Not all faired well however as many of the low laying farmlands were flooded, roads washed out, and even a historic bridge collapsed that had itself survived a previous historic flood nearly 70 years ago.

Many Farmers have seen it as a sign from above and have taken the opportunity and have begun working day and night to plant their fields. It has been reported that planting for the season is currently 38% below levels this same time last year, and for many this is their livelihood as most farmland is still in the hands of families instead of large corporations or even the government. The total cost of damage has yet to be calculated but in coming days the government expects to have a figure to release to the public as officials in the field from various agencies get a better understanding of the devestation

    Naval Deal Struck

The Confederacy has struck a deal with MareBlu SPA of the Grand Duchy of Lars for the purchase of an almost completed carrier and laid out contracts for the building of four frigates to enlarge the naval footprint of the confederacy. It was announced that this could be the beginning of continued business with the Grand Duchy in the naval field. The exact amount of the contract is estimated for $1.650 million this fiscal year and another $1.100 million next.

Many have pondered why the Confederacy has decided to add a carrier to the fleet, given the navies current makeup and role in defending the waters and interests of the Isle. When asked the Department of War released a statement, "These a turbulent times, we have a potential flashpoint in the Long Sea, another just across the Thaumantic. This was a deal too good to pass upon, it'll foster a productive relationship outside of the Engellsphere."

    Naval Yard Expansions

The Department of War has announced a new and ambitious plan of working with both Naval Yards responsible for construction and maintenance of the Confederate Fleet. In the plan it has called for the expansion of the Seneca Industrial & Naval Yards to build a drydock to accept future maintenance on the carrier which is due from Lars in the coming months and expansion of other drydock facilities to meet the potential future needs of the nation. The choice of which yard would be responsible for the expanded maintenance and potential future large construction contracts was easy as across the Seneca Bay is Naval Station Seneca which is home port for the Majority of Confederate ships.

War Across Thaumantic Strikes Divide At Home

As the conflict across the Thaumantic has the potential to see no end in sight government officials have decided to make it clear to the world its status as a neutral party in the conflict. This comes as the divide over how to view the conflict rages in the Unicameral. Many legislators have taken it upon themselves to pain it as not a conflict of Democracy versus Communism but that of the Engellic World versus that of the Gallian peoples. It comes as no surprise to many that this divisiveness comes from the fact some thirty percent of the population are descendants of Gallian origin or direct Gallian transplants themselves. Legislators have put forward several proposals for authorizing humanitarian aid, assisting in evacuation of refugees, to more radical forms of some form of assistance for the fledging government of the Peoples Republic or the Engellic Alliance as it has been labelled; however no such actions on any of the proposals have currently taken place.

    Flagship Arrives at Home

The yet unnamed carrier that was purchased earlier this year from the Grandy Duchy of Lars has arrived at its future home port in Seneca, its arrival was greeted by members of Unicameral War committee, and high ranking members of the Department of War, as well as naval personnel at the base. The Department of War issued a press release

    Confederacy Looks West

Teaming together the Departments of Interior and Agriculture are looking to the west. To the west are the Islands of Ganzer and Mallard. Looking into the historical significance of these two Islands to the Lakota people of the Confederacy, they have decided it would be a wise investment to help spur growth on these two islands have begun a policy of promoting not only the native population, but also those ancestry traces itself back across the Thaumantic. It has been labeled Islander Settlement Program 2019

While it has not yet been confirmed, inside sources from one of the departments has stated that part of the initiative to help spur the growth of these settlements a cash incentive to private citizens and and tax incentives for developers looking to help with the building of the new towns and farming settlements. Sources also said that the cash and tax incentives are rumored to be greater for those whom are of Lakota Ancestry.

    Settlement Program 2019

The ferries carrying heavy equipment and materials has become quite the spectacle as the flow keeps going across the channel as workers stream across to begin building the new farming communities and potentially future industrial sites that will inhabit the area as the isle looks to grow and continue its prosperity within native lands. The initiative has so far received overwhelming support from the large Lakota population with many clamoring for the opportunity for a fresh new start, the opportunity for that Confederate dream of rags to riches, to make something of themselves better than they were the year before.

The interest level is high, and already people signing up for the program has raised eyebrows inside government offices attempting to plan ways of keeping law and order in the new settlements as well as other emergency services on a temporary basis until permanent solutions can be found. Some believe that some form of martial law will be instated upon the new settlements to offer protection, order, and services needing rendered from the Armed Forces until civilian entities can assume the duties required. This belief or rumour is speculated based off the photos of Engineer Corps personnel on the ground assisting with construction of temporary living facilities and erecting others for the civilian crews coming across for construction of others. Two companies from the 601st Engineering Battalion have in fact been confirmed as on the ground from photos taken by the press.

    Humanitarian Crisis In Gallia

As the conflict in Gallia continues to rage on great attention has been brought forth of the suffering of those whom should have special protected status in any conflict, the citizens. It all started with domain bombing of Pillau in the opening days of the intervention of the Nistrian collapse and has only escalated in intensity following the landing of ground forces. The Burgundian Peoples Republic; what has been labeled as the successor stat, retaliated upon the foothold in Gallia that the Domain had managed to secure. What was left of Ouistreham was brought down upon whatever citizenry was left in the city and the forces of the Domain rendering the city a bombed out shell of itself with untold unimaginable destruction.

Even now, one would think enough suffering would have occurred , however reports of more missile strikes in the City of Boulon have begun to come in. One would come to conclusion that this series of bombings is either in retribution for losing the port city of Ouistreham in the chaotic firestorm that swallowed it, or a pre-curser for yet another landing by military forces to secure another supply line.

Earlier in the day the Unicameral passed legislation that has already been nicknamed Operation Gallant. Legislation stipulates that food and medical supplies will be flown into Serenierre via commercial aircraft and then drove across the border to aid stations spread across the country. Additionally funds were attached to the bill to aid in reconstruction efforts of the Gallian nation no matter the outcome.

Confederacy to Increase Exports to Nedernesië
The Home Office and Department of Agriculture have announced that in the next quarter it will begin increasing exports to the Commonwealth of Nedernesië to fulfill the increased demand that has been seen in the current quarter in exports to the Commonwealth. The move is figured to put the confederacy in a better position in the market share of agricultural and mining products in the Commonwealth. It is expected that the commodity markets will see gains over the announced increases in export volumes, commodities that are expected to see the largest increases will most likely be beef, corn, gold, nickel, and maybe even tobacco.

    Unicameral Approves ODS Treaty

In the first matter of business in the return from mid year recess the Unicameral was presented documents for a vote of ascension into the Organisation of Democratic States (ODS) as the treaty was a part of ongoing negotiations for trade and strengthening relations with Germanian partners.

What had started as simple trade negotiations had fostered something of a kindred desire based on similar values and status as free democratic states and evolved into the current trade and defense agreement. Some inside the Unicameral questioned the need for defense agreements with states so far away and the potential to be drug into unwarranted conflict, representatives on hand from the Chancellors Office and fellow Conservative party members pointed out the fact they both were on the front lines of the neighboring Rurikgrad Pact members and as well the number of states that could truly be labeled as "protectors of basic human rights" were slim around the globe and this was not a way to get drug into pointless conflicts, but rather a way of helping safeguard a way of life for millions.

When the discussions for floor time had ended and the vote was taken the Unicameral had passed the resolution to signify the Confederate States would take its position as a founding member of the Organisation of Democratic States. The resolution passed 169-66 with left leaning parties and the Royalist party voting against.

    Unicameral Debates, Passes Chancellors Budget
As the Unicameral has been back in session for days having returned from break one of the topics up for discussion was the new fiscal year. The Chancellors office had sent down its request for the budget for debate and passage, some debate had begun by senators over what was seen as a massive overhaul of the budget for the first time in over a decade as they argued against the increase over the previous year by about seven percent, claiming it would lead to a need to increase the already low tax burden to keep the budget in balance. After hours of deliberation and discussions a finalized and amended budget was passed by the senators and will find its way to the Chancellors office where it is expected to be signed off upon.

attached at the bottom of this article is the Amended Budget

    Polesia - The Fake State
The Confederacy has long been ambiguous in the eye of the public about its policy on the Polesian Peoples Republic, instead having largely kept policies focused and straight forward on its side of the hemisphere. However now with Johnston Isle looking more outwards foreign policies that were often left in the dark corners of government offices as unofficial guidelines are now finding themselves now becoming official policy under the current administration of Chancellor Rebecca Daniel.

The Chancellors announcement was met with swift responses by officials from the Peoples Party and the Workers World Party. They said making such a policy official is provocative and does nothing to change the reality of the situation, meanwhile conservative party members applauded and welcomed it as an solid ground to stand on to be the "Beacon of Democracy" that the world needs in these dark times.

The continuing and increasing rhetoric coming from the Confederate States of Johnston Isle can not be otherwise described then ill-informed war-mongering. The Rogue State of Trivodnia was not attacked because "it was not what Ivar wanted it to be" in some "senseless communist aggression and expansionist policies", but rather after years of provocations and treaty-violations that resulted countless crisis situations. The most notably being of course what is known as the '3rd Crotobaltislavonian Crisis' where the Trivodnian administration actively sponsored the bloody insurrection of the Renegade General Radic. The Trivodnian-backed Radic rebellion was only one in a long list of national and international crimes committed by the Rogue State through which they eventually forced our hand to take action in protection of ourselves and the neighbouring states of former Trivodnia. It would do the Chancellor of the Johnston Isles a great service to have herself surrounded by more knowledgable men or open a contemporary history book herself as we do not feel the need to educate an increasingly hostile nation across the Thaumatic about the complexities that started the Seven Days War.

The People's Federal Socialist Republics of Kadikstan has in fact signed the Pax Germanica Treaty with all Germanian countries, safe for the Kingdom of Etruria, including everyone involved in the Seven Days War. By this treaty all signatory states, including ODS member Eiffelland-Retalia, have recognized the post-war situation; the People's Socialist Republic of Calidia, the Polesian People's Republic and the Holy Tiburan Empire. This Treaty was difficult to establish even with great diplomatic craftsmanship on all sides with former foes sitting across the table. Nonetheless it yielded great results in a way that has kept peace and balance in the region since the end of the war. That is more then can be said about the time before the war where one crisis seemed almost instantly followed by another. Stability through a maintaining of the balance of power has been our foreign policy since 1957. It is no secret that this includes the protection of established socialist states, but does not entail what Chancellor Daniel calls "expansionist policies".

We call upon the only responsible member of the ODS, the Union State of Eiffelland-Retalia, to temper the seemingly relentless efforts of their fellow member states to destabilize the region. The Pax Germanica must be protected not only for the stability and peace it has provided, but also because it is the only one of its kind and we shall not be so lenient again.

The Organisation of Democratic States should learn from the defeat of the Trier Concord in the Seven Days War instead of trying to resurrect dead failed states. The triumph of international socialism in the Three Seas region is permanent and any attempt to try and undo the new status quo will be met with forcefully.

Your puppet masters failed to stamp out democracy, human rights, & freedom during the last conflict. No. There was no winner. The ODS is everything Trier wasn't. More of a shield for democracy. More of a beacon for human rights. Already, far more numerous than & prominent than its predecessor. Lastly unlike Trier, it has the Continental Empire fostering its heart because it wisely chose not to exclude us. Viva Justosia.

We call upon everybody to remain calm. Nobody wants war, and nobody seeks to overthrow the status quo in Gallogermania, so let's restrain ourselves.
We also call upon everybody to emphasize the advantages of their own systems instead of pointing at the disadvantages of the systems of others. We all have our reasons to consider our own system the best in the world and, therefore, think that everybody in the world should implement it. That in itself is not a problem, but it should not descend into hostilities.
