On this occasion with thereof the lack of qualified stability in the Scanian Region, the Democratic Defense Initiative and such it's founding members of the Anti-State, Federation of Westernesse and Hanseatic Republics, have judged it proper for asserting as a matter of principle in which the rights and interests of the Democratic Defense Initiative are involved, that the Scanian Islands, by the free and independent condition that they have currently assumed and maintain, are henceforth not to be considered subjects for future interference and subjective behavior by any foreign power.

In the politicking of which European powers continue, we have remained both anxious and interested spectators. The citizens and inhabitants of our nations cherish the friendly favor of liberty and happiness by which our systems and styles of society and governance prevail, and by which the Scanian islands share. It is only when our rights are invaded or seriously menaced that we resent the injuries or make preparations for our defense. Of movements near these Scanian islands we are of necessity more immediately connected, and by caused of which must be obvious to all enlightened and impartial observers. The political system of the allied powers and subsequently these essentially different in this respect from the remaining world. This difference proceeds from that which exists in their respective Governments; and to the defense of our own, which has been achieved by the loss of so much blood and treasure, and matured by the wisdom of our most enlightened citizens and inhabitants, and under which we have enjoyed unexampled felicity, that this whole alliance is devoted.

We therefore owe it, to candor and to the amicable relations existing between the Democratic Defense Initiative and most of these foreign powers to declare that we should consider any attempt on their part to extend their system of governance to any portion of the Scanian Isles as dangerous to our peace and safety. It is impossible that the foreign powers should extend their political system to any portion of Westernesse or Toyou, and as much so to Scania, without endangering our peace and happiness, nor, can any believe that our northern brethren, if left to themselves, would adopt it of their own accord. It is equally impossible, therefore that we should behold such interposition in any form with indifference. It is therefore the true policy of the Democratic Defense Initiative to maintain the parties within our system, the hope that other powers will pursue the same course in the hope of continued good faith and common friendship with the Democratic Defense Initiative.
