The Imperial Government of Valkany officially apologizes for and recognizes its crimes in the Eastern Cape. However it does agree that a full and complete JUDICIAL TRIBUNAL FOR CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY must be established by the High Kingdom of Ivernia and the other members of the TRIPARTITE AGREEMENT, namely the Kingdom of Ostveg and the Continental Republic of Sylvania. And with the automatic involvement of the ENTIRE High Command of Valkany as accused of Crimes Against Humanity. Including the entire senior Military Command, the entire senior positions of Valkany Governance, and the Emperor and the Royal Family of Valkany to subject themselves to the Ivernish Justice, and International Justice.

Only then would the High Kingdom of Ivernia offer the Empire of Valkany any level of support.

Rejected. The Emperor and Royal Family, including new Empress Igenorg, and the officers that didn't take part in the war on trial? This is a coup not a trial. The only ones responsible are the officers of the Colonial HQ secotrr of High Command and the members of the Colonial Administration. Also the Emperor didn't take any of these actions , didn't officially at least since he doesn't have the power to do so according to our constitution, it was the minister of colonial affairs' authority and decisions. Nicosia and Nicosians reject this half-hearted apology. These crimes snuffed out the lives of people. This is not about one nation or several nations exacting justice. This is about humanity seeking justice for crimes done against it. The international community tolerates much which marches in the shades of gray. That which marches in the black cannot and will not be tolerated. Do not allow such things to permanently tarnish you or your nation for decades to come and for history to also judge. Understand the world shall not and will not avert their gaze. No, the time has past. In the interest of goodwill and peace I write this letter. You must see the world will tolerate only so much before it invokes the laws of humanity. In this age of transition, we as monarchs must understand that the world has and will continue to hold humanity itself to a golden standard.

I ask you submit those who you think to be responsible to justice.


I have taken time out of my day to personally write this letter. By the time it reaches you, it should be known that I have made this letter public. Please remember this is a letter written of goodwill and sufficient tone.

The Empire of Valkany is in no position to decide who it believes is responsible for the actions of the Empire and who is not. The Empire of Valkany offered to submit itself to a full Judicial Tribunal and as such all people of senior power in the Empire must be brought forward for investigation and potential prosecution. The innocent should not fear the sword of justice.

If the persons are indeed innocent of all crime and responsibility then they shall pass unscathed by the tribunal and will shall have their names rightfully cleared.

We in Ivernia repeat: If you truly are apologetic and truly wish for a fair tribunal then you shall submit to a FULL investigation. You shall not dictate the terms of your own tribunal.

If you are wishing for some feeble attempt to regain some international reputation by arranging a show-trial than Ivernia shall not bother to take part or assist.

The Empire of Valkany and it's governance is the pariah of the planet. It is not in a position to negotiate with the High Kingdom of Ivernia the terms of an international investigation. If you are not interested in holding a free and all-encompassing trail, then Ivernia shall surrender you to your oblivion.

THE Peoples & Patriots of the Covenant are likewise concerned that the Empire of Valkany is attempting to set the terms of these proceedings. If within the Friendly Confines there was a murderer or rapist at large, God forbid, we would not permit the suspect to surrender under the terms that he chooses his own investigators, judge, and jury. Truly if the notion that the Grand Covenant would participate in a rigged tribunal is a shared notion in Europe, we have failed ourselves and the international community entirely.

For this reason we will not only reject the offer to participate on this tribunal, but also any tribunal that is erected to investigate and prosecute crimes committed in the Eastern Cape this winter. We will however actively observe with the intent of amending our knowledge as we re-build our trustworthiness in the eyes of Europeans everywhere.

Valkany will gladly put all of the persons you requested on trial. However according to article XIX of the Valkanian constitution they will have to firstly pass through the Valkanian judiciary before being extradited for a trial in foreign nations. As such we will have to first perform a trial and extradite all convicted persons but free all acquitted ones. Also we ask [MENTION=1673]Asylan[/MENTION] and [MENTION=2]Cantignia[/MENTION] if they want this trial to be in an Ivernian court alone or if they want a joint trial, so we may make appropriate preparations for the extraditions.

Day 1 of the War Crimes Extradition Trial in Valkany's Imperial Supreme High Court of Law at Zessionsford.

Official Spokesperson of the Court: This court shall determine whether the accused persons, namely His Imperial Majesty Emperor Demetrius XV, The Prime Minister Duke Anthony XVII, Minister of Foreign Affairs Lord Johann Odessof, Chief of the Office of Naval Intelligence Admiral Ernst Spirtzof, the 12 members of the Valkanian Military High Command and the 24 members of the Valkanian Colonial Administration, are guilty or not of all mentioned crimes, namely attempted and instituted genocide, war crimes against civilians, bemusement of public funds, neglect of duties, corruption, unneeded use of armed force against innocents and failure to prevent genocidal acts on both sides. The judge shall be his Lordship, Lord Gustav Von Kristengven and the jury is to be made up of 12 randomly selected persons. May his Lordship enter the courtroom.

The judge enters the courtroom. He sits on his seat with a cold and serious look on his face. The look of a man experienced in such affairs. Te look of a cold calculative man only caring about what the law says, sympathizing with neither side and ready to treat monarchs and lords like petty criminals if necessary. That was the type of man Gustav Von Kristengven was.

Judge Gustav: The jury may now enter the courtroom.

The jury enter the courtroom. They are made up of twelve members six men and six women. Two Native Himyaris living in Valkany, one Ivernian-Valkanian, Six Factory Workers, One Eastern Cape War Veteran with the Marine Expeditionary Force and two sailors, one with the Valkanen Kriegsmarine and one with a major freighter company.

Judge Gustav: The Defendants and the Plaintiffs may now enter the courtroom.

The Defendants and the Plaintiffs enter the courtroom. On the one side of the court stand some of Valkany's and the former Eastern Cape Colony's strongest men. On the other side a group of lawyers and members of the leftist movements that were undertaking the role of public prosecutors.

Judge Gustav: This court will determine on the guilt or innocence of the Defendants and will decide whether or not they will be extradited to Ivernia for the International War Crimes Tribunal on the Eastern Cape War. Viktor Lenstof has been selected as public prosecutor and has the approval of the jury to fulfill this role during this trial.

Viktor Lenstof, was an important figure of the Communist movement in Valkany. From the moment he stepped in the courtroom the defendants knew he was out for blood. That was the type of man he was. The question is whoose blood he was after; Was he after the Central Administration and High Command that had sentenced his brother to death during the January Revolt? Or was he after the Colonial Administration of the Eastern Cape and the General Staff of Chiefs of the Eastern Cape Defence Force? Only time would tell, but for the time being to the Valkanian government time was as valuable as gold.

Public Prosecutor Lenstof: Thank you your Lordship. With this courts power I will ensure the murderous Government and the outrageously incompetent and genocidal Colonial Administration of the Eastern Cape along with their respective military lapdogs will be brought to justice.

His comment threw hate and blame on both parties. But he spent half a line more commenting on the Colonial Administration. Perhaps they were his target. But how? The very men that had his borther hanged were before him and it was sure he could get either them or the Colonials to share his fate. Why would he choose those petty crooks at the Colonial Administration? Lord Johann Odessof was in charge of the Defendants legal defense and was himself a defendant. He looked to they side of the Colonials; then he found out why; Generals Abudodedo and Kropitz along with Vice-Governor Pleasmooth were standing there. Three rivals of Lenstof in one trial were at his hand. After all Lenstof was not very friendly with his brother or nay other member of his family for that matter but was surely the type to eleminate his rivals when he had the chance. That however didn't mean the Mainlanders were safe. They were probably in the worst situation the had ever been in.

Judge Gustav: Lord Johann Odessof will take the role of the attorney of the Defendants, him included, and will be in charge of their legal defense. The jury must have elected a representative in four days time. This court is hereby temporarily dissolved and will convene in three days at the same time in this same room. The defendants are given two days to prepare their defense. *clack*
