EGA ~ European Golf Association
I think we need to bring the gentleman’s sport to Europe. My proposal:
The EGA will be the governing body internationally, equivalent to the International Federation of PGA Tours, as it would be comprised of various national and private golf associations coordinating with each other.
As for tournaments: there will be four (or so) Majors, in rotating locations, but one always in whichever country “founded” the sport. Ranked below the Majors will be four World Golf Championships, at permanent locations. And below them thirty-something regular event tournaments based on sponsor preference. Also there would be a few unique events along the lines of the Ryder Cup.
Only the big tournaments would get a lot of fuss, but having smaller ones would add realism… even if no one pays much attention.
