"I think that that's a good idea, Your Excellency," Raimer said. "I would also like to introduce you to Frank Köppen, representant of Magirus-Deutz. I understood that you were planning to extent your armed forces. Magirus-Deutz not only makes trucks, fire engines and agricultural machines, but also tanks and armoured vehicles."

"It's great to meet you Mr. Köppen. If your company's outstanding reputation is to be trusted, of which I am most certain, we will be needing the skills and possibly the factories of your nation to speed up our re-armament. It is very helpful to meet."

The limousine drove the delegates to the Government Palace. They were taken to the Department of Finance's segment of the building, where at a large table they sat. Catalogues with food were brought in front of them and after ordering the group could now sue to the time to talk.

"As you already know, ladies and gentlemen we have come here to discuss opening the Karolnian market to Eiffellander automobiles. To that extent I believe easing if not lifting taxation on the import and sale of Eiffellander automobiles and preferential treatement during their transport to our ports could be a good idea. That would also help in dropping prices to entice more Karolnians into buying them. What do you think Sirs?"

"That would definitely something we favour, Your Excellency. It would make it easier to us to sell our cars in Karolnia," Max Raimer said. "In general, it is better to have as few tariffs as possible. It is our job to make products that are worth their money." Then he took a sip of his water.

"Indeed, if you can reduce or even lift the tariffs on our cars, and give us privileges in your seaports, we would be very happy. We would also make sure that this would be reciprocated by our government in a way you like."

"It is great to hear of your agreement. Easing restrictions on the sale of Karolnian Oil would be a great reciprocation. I would like to let you know that our oil surveys are progressing very well in the Karolnian Sea and we have uncovered considerable quantities of oil. Selling it to industrial countries such as yours is one of our primary targets."

The food ordered by the guests and hosts was served. After taking a bite from his lobster the Minister continued;

"Do you have any aditional ideas that could prove helpful?"

"Oil is indeed something we structurally need. And I know that our government doesn't want to rely on just one or two oil suppliers, so you will be very welcome to deliver oil to us. You can never have too many oil suppliers according to us," Max Raimer said. Then he took a bite from his jugged hare.

"That is very sound. As one would come to expect from a country with a majour industry. Since we have gone past the issue of automobiles, what do you say we move to how you can help us with our militay modernization. I am eager to hear of your proposals in this very pushing matter for our nation." replied the Minister;

Now it was the turn of Frank Köppen from Magirus-Deutz to talk. aware of the fact that the Karolnians had already developed their own main battle tank, he started to talk.

"Well, we have very interesting land systems we can deliver. We were the first with a main battle tank, the Universalpanzer Löwe. However, I understood that you already have a main battle tank, so I will not bore you with that. But we also sell armoured personnel carriers, amphibious vehicles and tank destroyers. The Luchs is our armoured personnel carrier. It can carry 10 persons excluding crew, and it drives 50 km/h. Furthermore, we sell the Wasserbüffel, which is an amphibious vehicle that can carry up to 30 persons excluding crew. And we sell the Höllenkatze, which is a tank destroyer. Apart from those, we sell mortars, howitzers, cannons, trucks for military purposes and all terrain vehicles."

While Köppen took a bite of his phaesant, Max Dassau from Dassau Flugzeugwerke continued.

"Apart from two types of civilian airplanes, of which you saw one at the airport, we sell an interesting range of military airplanes. One of them is the transonic Mysterium I fighter plane, which can be used both as an air superiority fighter and a fighter-bomber. Furthermore, we sell the B47, both as a long-range bomber and as a tanker (in that case, we call it the K47), and the T28 transport plane. We are also working on a new transport plane that can take off and land on short and even a bit bumpy ramps. Apart from that, we sell helicopters."

Dassau took a sip of his water, and then continued.

I also want to introduce you to Werner Rathenau, descendant of one of Eiffelland's most important business families, who is represents the Rathenau gruppe, Eiffelland's consortium in Electronics. He can give some information about Rathenau Militärausrüstung, which produces ground-based radar systems, field radio equipment and military radio installations. Furthermore, I want to introduce you to Ralph Peters, who represents Karl Seiff GmbH. This company produces cameras, binoculars, periscopes, all in all everything in which a lens is involved."

OOC: A (not complete yet) description of my military branche can be found at .

The Minister took a bite from his lobster again before continuing;
"These seem all like great pieces of equipment. Right now the Luchs APC and the Mysterium I Fighter seem to be the ones attracting our interest."

His military adviser nodded in agreement.

"Of course we can deliver the Luchs 1 to you," Frank Köppen said. "And if you wait a few weeks, we will start delivering the Luchs 2, which is a newer and more modern design than the Luchs 1. How many would you want to buy? I can give you advice if needed."

Max Dassau continued: "The Mysterium I is a very good choice for a fighter plane. It is trustworthy and easy to fly. We will give the needed instructions of course. We can also advice you about the number of planes you would need."

"We would like to purchase 140 Mysterium I's. Do you have any products when it comes to Transport Airplanes and Helicopters?" asked the Minister after consulting with the Economics and Military advisors; Karolnia was planning to produce its own APCs, though in smaller numbers and in lighter quality; "Also do you have any advisors that could help us modernize our heavy industry? For a monetary reward of course."

"We thank you for your order for 140 Mysterium I planes. I will make sure that we start the production as soon as possible," Max Dassau said. "Regarding transporters and helicopters, we certainly sell them. The T28 is our transport plane. It is a propeller plane which reaches 6100 km and has a maximum speed of 440 km/h. We also sell helicopters. Our Wirbelwind 1 helicopter can be used for naval surveillance, transport, rescue tasks and support. We also sell it equipped with a machine gun. Furthermore, we sell the Gazelle, which is a small helicopter that can be used for reconnaissance and surveillance. For a good advice on modernising your heavy industries, we can only give a good advice after a thorough investigation. We we have to send in specialists for that."

The Minister consulted with his advisers once again. The Economcis adviser handed him the budget while the Commodore sitting beside him gave him a paper with the Armed Forces' needs. He took a sip of wine and replied;
"We would be more than glad to receive them with open arms. We would like to order 26 T28's, 20 Gazelle's and 154 Wirbelwind 1's."

"Thank you too sir." noted the Minister; "On our end we will of course pay every cent of these most important purchases. Is there anything else you would like to discuss?"

Now it was Werner Rathenau's turn to talk.

"I represent the Rathenau Gruppe, Eiffelland's consortium in Electronics. We produce a lot of electronic devices, like washing machines, dish washers, vacuum cleaners, radios, even televisions. We also produce computers, as well as radar systems and military radio equipment. Maybe we can help you out as well."

"I see. We could take similar measures to those we took for your automobile industry for similar reasons. Perhaps similar measures for Karolnian fish and seafood could be taken on your side in exchange?"

Werner Rathenau was not just the representant of the Rathenau Gruppe. He was also the best friend of the Eiffellandian Crown-Prince. Furthermore, because of his family's connections with the most important political party, the Christiandemocrats, he could be quite certain that he could arrange trade advantages for the Karolnian fishing sector.

"Of course we can open the Eiffellandian market for Karolnian fish and seafood products. Your companies will have to fulfil our requirements regarding food safety, but I don't expect any problems with that. Furthermore, should there be any issues, the Eiffellandian authorities not only make the rules, but also help and advice companies with fulfilling the rules. So I can assure you that the Karolnian fishing companies will have easy access to the Eiffellandian market."
