Tourism in debate on the Supreme Congress

New laws will be enacted towards Tourism, regarded has a strategic sector of the nation. The administrative laws regarding the organization and supervision of touristic activities are quite outdated in the view point of the government. Actually the administration and supervision of Tourism is operated by the following organisms/agencies:

Zona de Turismo(Tourism Zone/Area): A kind of "Tourism county". It can be administrated by the following entities:

Junta de Turismo (Local Tourism Board): If it depends directly from the Secretary of State

Comissão Municipal de Turismo (Town Tourism Committee): If it depends directly from the Town Hall.[/I]

Has for Mozambia there is a strong resistance to this process, since Mozambia was autonomous and in the past administrated by the Overseas Secretary of State. With the extinction of the colonial state, Mozambia lost the right to run its own tourism agency. The Prefect of Mozambia already protested against this, since with a new law, the Mozambian Tourism Agency will be extinguished.

The old Junta de Colonização Interna (Internal Colonization Board) will have a new statute soon in order to remove gaps left by the defunct department of overseas. Tourism Administration Law passed by the Sovereign Congress

The by far disputed law of the Tourism Administration has passed with a majority of votes. A new bureau was created lead by the Secretary of Tourism, and it is considered has a strategic activity. The head, the Bureau of Tourism, will lead the destinies and matters regarding Tourism in the nation. The administrative laws regarding the organization and supervision of touristic activities are now up to date, and ready for the new challenges of the incoming 60ies. The new touristic administrative circumcisions are:

"Região de Turismo" (Tourism Region), "Zona de Turismo" (Tourism Zone) and "Local de Turismo" (Tourism Place). The Região de Turismo will be headed by a Comissão Regional de Turismo (Tourism Region Comission). This Comission is roughly composed by representatives of the counties that compose it, being those representatives nominated by each county mayor and from tour operators. It is intended to be applied to zones that Tourism is developing has an activity, or that there are projects from the government regarding that area. Has a provisional agency, the main goal is to create an reasonable development of Tourism within its area of jurisdiction in order to create "Zona de Turismo" and "Local de Turismo". The "Zona de Turismo" is a particular area around a tourist attraction point, like a hot springs or a beach for example. It is allocated within a county and composed of several civil parish around the tourist attration. It is intended to be ruled by a comission, composed of economic agents related to tourism with the supervision of local authorities. A "Zona de Turismo" can be ruled by a "Comissão Municipal de Turismo" (a kind of Local Tourism Committee directed by the town hall) if it depends directly from the Town Hall and the Mayor, or by a "Junta de Turismo" (a kind of local tourism committee but directly dependent of the secretary of tourism) if it is dependent directly from the secretary of tourism and the capital is not a urban civil parish. The "Junta de Turismo" it is to be installed in every point that the Secretary of State considers strategic for the development of tourism and its projection in the foreign nations. Last but not the least, the "Local de Turismo". The "Local de Turismo" (Tourism Place) it is composed by a territory of maximum of 3 civil parishes. It depends both on the local town hall and the bureau of tourism. It is regarded to be used in small tourist attrations our tourist places with a local projection and popularity that is not beyond its natural borders. All commissions aforementioned have the power to charge a 7% tax over all tourism activities within their territory, and apply part of it in tourism promotion activities and tourist projects. Unknown assailants fire bombs on the embassy building, 2 guards down!

The Grand Council for Diplomatic Affairs of Sikandara has announced that the Sikandari embassy in the Aurarian capital of Solis was attacked by two bombs, which resulted in two sentries at the main entrance getting injured. New Industrial Compound inaugurated in Lourenço Marques, Mozambia
