Ok, so I've let this fall off a little bit, but I've still got a few good weeks of summer left before I have to go back and edumucate another class of young children. So. I'm about to hit this back up a bit- and I figured that I would give you, dear readers, a chance to help determine which course I take with the next few writings I do. I am aware that I've left the Reformation largely unfinished in this state, but I've got a really good Wiki article in the works that will nicely compliment, and complete that particular epoch in Sarmatian history. So without more of an introduction- oh yes, this (thread) will be a nice place for request and comments that you might have involving posts or future posts- here we are, the options for where I'll head next.

Option 1: The Third (and Final) War of Two Emperors (which also included two Kings and a few Mareşals). It ran (roughly and tentatively) from 1904-1905 and involved the predecessor states of the current Empire of Greater Sarmatia and Commandry of Kyiv and Novgorod (and the United Socialist States of Kryobaijan, the Blue Union of Životinje, and more than likely the youthful Empire of Oikawa). This like the previous two Wars between the Emperors was a really traditional territorial disputes (though admittedly of gigantic proportions, and involving three separate regions) tied the collapse of the Tsardom/Principality/Noble Republic? of Novgorod (complicated more by the fact that both of its divided portions have proven to be natural centers of industry) a few centuries prior, and the divided nature of the once mighty Khagante of Khazaria, which was blessed/cursed with an overabundance of otherwise rare natural resources.

This war would be interesting in that it would provide a window into the apogees of two (and really as many as six) great, but very conservative cultures, on the cusp of being grasped firmly and then thoroughly raped by the modern world. This would have fallen around the beginning of the Kingdom of Międzymorze's second period of military supremacy, a period when it was one of, it not the most advanced (in terms of equipment and organization) military/ies in Europe. Though historically less populace, and at times smaller than the Slavian Tsardom (Kyiv), Międzymorze had taken to the Industrial Era with a gusto unseen in this portion of the world, and was capable of fielding mass quantities of the most devastating weapons of the day- which it used to great effect.

As I recall, and I really do think I'm getting this one right, this is one war that Kyiv does lose (over the great many that he wins, rather convincingly), and had a great hand in sending him down the path of Communism, which would in turn have a very profound impact on the Great War, largely by ensuring that it took the form that it did (as it's more or less a given that there would have been one anyway).

Option 2: This is one that I (briefly) mentioned to Kapi earlier today, and have kinda been toying around with since I had the idea a few weeks ago, when all the renewed discussion on Tibur came up. Now Tibur is one project that I've always wanted to have a hand in, but I've got little interest in having Sarmatia be a former province of the Empire, so I found it logical to create a counterweight to Imperial Tibur, an analogue of the Parthian and Sassanid Empires of Persia and Mesopotamia.

This Empire has been tentatively dubbed the Cimmerian Empire in my notes, though it's official name will be some ancient, ancient variant on their name- maybe some adapted from Assyrian records. Anyway. The actual meat of the story would revolve around a particularly successful warlord hailing from this Cimmerian Empire, that perhaps proved to be more than a minor thorn in the side of Tibur. I've no idea if he was a true conqueror or just a general pirate and "viking," but depending upon the interests and comments on this idea, I'll develop accordingly. The time range for this guy is open to anywhere between 400 BC-400 AD.

Option 3: An annotated history of the Kingdom of Międzymorze in the last years of the Great War (post surrender, and post coup 1945), with a special emphasis on the last year and a half of the war, when territorial boundaries were as quicksilver, with ever advancing military technologies causing the already hellish lives of soldiers on all sides to become beyond unbearable.

The ultimate climax of this mini-series would deal heavily with the firebombing of the Kyivan city of Lviv (Lwow, according to the Sarmatians), ala Hamburg's bombing by the Allies in WWII- and in direct retaliation, the destruction of the Northern (Sarmatian) Fleet, and the atomic bombing the Khazar capital city of Itil, snuffing out 175k lives in the blinking of an eye, and effectively ending the most brutal conflict the world had yet seen (outside of some admittedly horrible police actions in the future League of Free States).

Thoughts? Requests? Periods of interests that you'd like me to consider?

I'm interested in having you focus on option 2, primarily because I'll have a greater role to play in helping you with that, being, at the time, one of the furthest outposts of the Tiburan Empire, yet managing to survive any onslaught from the Cimmerian Empire. It's possible that your warlord could provide the reason for Oltremare's future survival against barbarian hordes that completely tore apart the rest of the Tiburan Empire. Namely, making it in effect a "Fortress Outpost", which would have effects in wars centuries later, especially during the barbarian invasions and the Crusades.

Option Three will come up inevitably with the development of the Great War we already have. So my vote would be for the less ambitious option one, considering option two is a harder egg to crack right now. Hone your craft and approach two later.
