Minutes from the Inaugural meeting of the Comité pour la libération de Himyar

In attendance
Comrade-Citizen Chevalier du peuple de deuxième classe Francis Lagneau
Comrade-Citizen Charles Lanoix
Comrade-Citizen Michel Audiard
Comrade-Citizen Jean Blanche
Comrade-Citizen Charles Millot

Comrade-Citizen Chevalier du peuple de deuxième classe Francis Lagneau : " Greetings comrades to the first meeting of the committee for the liberation of Himyar, Now I'm sure all of you have been watching the events in Rio de Oro with great interest. We have an oppurtunity here to bring about the end of colonial tyranny in Himyar, after all if we succeed in Rio de Oro what are the chances that the peoples of Loago and others will not take up arms?

Comrade-Citizen Charles Lanoix: " Yes but would any action, covert or otherwise not risk the work of decades by the Foreign Ministry to reach our current level of relations with the Kingdom of Ebria, I would think it incredibly unwise to risk the security of Bezonvaux itself over a place as worthless as Rio de Oro. If the natives have risen up all well and good but let them succeed or fail on their own without our interference". I can not and will not support any motion that could threaten the People's Republic directly or indirectly".

Comrade-Citizen Michel Audiard : " You always were a coward Lanoix".

Comrade-Citizen Charles Lanoix: " Better a coward than a cuckold".

[ Minutes taking halted per the orders of Comrade-Citizen Chevalier du peuple de deuxième classe Francis Lagneau ]

[Minutes taking resumed]

Comrade-Citizen Chevalier du peuple de deuxième classe Francis Lagneau: " Gentlemen, gentlemen now I understand of course that the issues of foreign affairs can be an emotive subject but now we have all calmed ourselves I would suggest we get to the matter at hand. Of course Comrade-Citizen Lanoix has voiced his opinion of any intervention and while of course we must always take care to listen to our comrades in the Foreign Ministry theirs is not the only voice here. Comrade-Citizen Millot, you I trust are able to speak on behalf of the security services, what is your assessment of the situation?"

Comrade-Citizen Charles Millot: " Thank you Comrade-Chevalier, the CSAR has indentified the key factions present in Rio de Oro. There are of course those who are loyal to the Ebrian Crown, they are of course not going to support us so I think it's safe to discount them at this point. Then there are the Islamist faction, the political wing being the aptly named " Party of the Faithful" lead by one Omar Ould Ali. The Party of the Faithful has a considerable following however due to their religous and nationalist nature I feel that they would make poor allies, although they could still prove useful assets. Now the the Party of Popular Democracy is the natural choice, they are while Communists they do not follow the Jaclardist strain but of course we can't have everything can we? They're lead by Mohammed Ould Taya, their support is mainly urban which could pose some issues given that is also where the colonial regime and its collaborators are strongest.

Comrade-Citizen Michel Audiard: Now Villa Cisneros, has fallen to the PPD, however given its place in the interior how might we provide men and material? Would it be possible for Ould Taya and his supporters to stage an uprising in El Aaiún or another coastal city?"

Comrade-Citizen Jean Blanche: " It may be possible for a small group of operatives to land at the coast and infiltrate further inland to rendevouz with Ould Taya, we could at least begin training DDP forces even if we cannot yet arm them. Also we could begin recruiting operatives from among the DDP and train them in various unconvential tactics".

Comrade-Citizen Charles Millot: " Of course a proper Jaclardist political education would need to be provided".

Comrade-Citizen Chevalier du peuple de deuxième classe Francis Lagneau: " Naturally, now gentlemen it has come the time to vote, are we decided on intervention in Rio de Oro, and the plan laid out by Comrade-Citizen Millot?

Twenty Kilometres off the coast of Rio de Oro
Sirène-class submarine easily navigated along the coast of Rio de Oro, the nation's navy no doubt focused on the goings on in the interior. In the dead of night the submarine surfaced and the twenty four men transported inside made their way ashore. Once embarked, the Bezonist force split in two, one hald would continue towards Trarza and make attempt to make contact with the rebels. The other half went off into the desert.

The Comité secret d'action révolutionnaire had a few contacts in Rio de Oro, not nearly as many as it would've liked but enough for its current purpose. Agent Georges Lacau had recieved a list of names, while not true Jaclardists they still shared enough of the same beliefs to be deemed trustworthy. Aouicha Ould Sadek was at the top of this list, a leading light of the Frente de Liberación Nacional Comunista, a splinter group of the Party of Popular Democracy, not estranged per se but still with enough distance to act as suitable middlemen.

Aouicha Ould Sadek was not the figure Lacau had been expected, of course the Socialist Republic espoused equality among the sexes but he was still shocked to find himself sitting across from an attractive woman in her early thirties in a little cantina in some one horse town on the way to Trarza.
" Comrade Sadek, thank you for meeting me at such short notice, I understand that events are all moving very quickly my nation would be happy to extent support to the Trarzan Republic and we would be grateful if you passed that on to Mr Ould Taya. However before you go Comrade Sadek, I will need something from you". Lacau's Ebrian was passable, he was more gifted as a sabateur rather than a linguist and this brief conversation was already pushing his limits. " Yes Comrade Lacau, I have in a secure place a document with a list of government officals that you asked for". Lacau let a wry smile cross his face, a healthy amount of distrust was a good quality in an ally. " Once I leave I will send you the coordinations, good luck comrade". And with that Ould Sadek left.

A little while later Lacua looked over the document, these where the names of men and women in Rio de Oro Bezonvaux wanted dead, and like all good patriots Lacau was more than happy to ablige. A shame he wasn't on the second team instead his mission would to continue to make contact with the Trarzan Republic. A waste of his talents surely but if those were the orders then who was he to argue?

Minutes from [redacted] meeting of the Comité pour la libération de Himyar
In attendance
Comrade-Citizen Chevalier du peuple de deuxième classe Francis Lagneau
Comrade-Citizen Charles Millot
Comrade-Citizen Michel Audiard
Comrade-Citizen Jean Blanche

Comrade-Citizen Chevalier du peuple de deuxième classe Francis Lagneau:" Comrades, I have recieved word that our operation has successfully infiltrated Rio de Oro, and made contact with local operatives, given the lack of any real navy I propose we intentsify our current infiltration operations and begin outfitting rebel forces. Of course our major objective should be the taking of a proper dockyard so we can begin sending supplies in earnest. Of course El Aaiun may be out of the question at this stage".

Comrade-Citizen Charles Millot: " Might I suggest Comrade-Chevalier? I feel that it may be more prudent that we begin exfiltrating our supporters out of Rio de Oro in the event of the Trarzan Republic's fall we should not be left without any future options. Secondly I feel that the current asassination operations be ramped up instead of the increase of submarine supply runs, given the small number of weapons we can realistically transport I feel it may be of more use to throw our enemies into disarray rather than supply our friends".

Comrade-Citizen Jean Blanche: " Comrade-Citizen Millot, pragmatism is all well and good but being cold blooded is another, we cannot deny arms to the Trarzans and simply leave them to their fate. No I stand with Comrade-Chevalier's statement about ramping up submarine operations. And as for weapons just because we cannot send them in vast amounts doesn't mean they won't prove effective. Also given this is becoming more of a military endevour shouldn't a member of the Navy and Army be present rather than the security services?".

Comrade-Citizen Charles Millot: " Yes, of course as a representative of the Comité secret d'action révolutionnaire I welcome the addition of further members of the committee and to hear any dissenting opinions".
