Global Stock Index - GSI​

The Fortaleza Real Stock Exchange is one of Europes oldest and largest stock markets and enjoys international importance. As a gateway between central Europe, Himyar and the Occident, Fortaleza Real has managed to attract capital from all corners of the globe and no major corporation can foresake a presence on our markets. We pride ourselves on connecting major investors and big business from all over Europe with each other and hope to facillitate increased international trade in shares.

To this end, we have introduced the Global Stock Index as a measure of the market results of Europes largest, transnational businesses. The GSI presents an easily comprehensible, regularily updated overview of the most important players to watch on the stock market and also reflects general trends on the global market place, allowing investors to make quicker and better investment decisions. Finally, inclusion in the GSI serves as accolade for Europes most important companies, honoring what are often decades of succesful business operations.

OOC: something really, really simple to encourage business RP. We used to have these way back in the past and they kind of worked out. This incarnation has even less numbercrunching. Sign up with your major companies, those with international/transnational importance. Fortaleza Real seemed like a good place for a major stock exchange and this has been agreed on with Frescania. I will try to keep this updated on a weekly base and by signing up your companies you give me the explicit permission to have its value rise or fall, based on actual RP you do with it. I will keep my eyes open to not miss any business RP you do.

 

[Potenza]

OOC: Really good idea! I'm tempted to do something similar in San Salvo as well (as a lesser kind of stock exchange). I trust you enough to update or change it, and it'll encourage doing things to increase profits and raise stocks.

Some companies I'd like to contribute to this, to get the ball rolling - with the names and a brief description of what they are.

Mazzio Corporation: Major Potenzan transportation company, dealing with ships, trains and trucks - they have a near monopoly in Potenza. They're expanding in northern Solaren and have invested in transportation in the Parthian Union, and I'm soon to RP investments in Puerto Calve and Ivernia.

Bulgari Jewelers: Potenzan-based jewelry sales. They have stores in foreign locations.

Fornasari Automobiles: Potenza's largest automobile manufacturers - recently invested in a joint project with the Parthian Union.

Il Ducato: Potenza's largest newspaper. Hopefully people can figure out where the thread for Il Ducato is...

Very much love the fact you even using the currency symbol! (where did you find it? I don't recall posting it anywhere) Anyhow, here are mine:


Lurmac Group: largest Frescanian consulting, tax, commercial and military planes, company. It has numerous business units, including Lurmac Aviation and Lurmac Finance.
Lurmac Aviation: largest aerospace and defense corporation.
Lurmac Finance: consulting and tax company.
Zulia Corporation: transportation, specifically dealing with ships. Together with the Lurmac Group, is the main manufactured of naval equipment.
Royal Terrastanian Bank: commercial banking, corporate banking, loans, investment. One of Frescania's largest private banks.
Marcelano's Corporation: private company that produces food, dairy products, water, and has a chain of grocery store throughout Frescania.

 

[Polesia]

General Mines

A large mining company founded not long after the incorporation of Bitumtinia into Frescania. In Bitumtinia it opened iron ore mines and helped provide iron and steel to drive Frescanian industrialisation. Following the defeat of Cathiopa by Frescania in the late 19th century and the subsequent Cathiopan Republican Revolution, the country's economy was opened to foreign investors, and huge concessions were granted on favourable terms. General Mines was awarded vast swathes of territory in south Cathiopa to operate in, and now helps manage dozens of mines in partnership with FRECAMINCO, the state monopoly. Principle resources extracted from Cathiopa include: cobalt, diamonds, gold, copper and tin. Headquartered in Cathiopa for tax and regulatory purposes.

Great Lake Company

Another business to have benefited from the generous concessionary scheme, the Great Lake Company runs a number of plantations in south-west Cathiopa producing rubber and timber.

Hawkins-Miranda Aviation Group: Sylvania's now largest aviation company, exports planes to Puerto Clave, and just announced a new carrier based jet fighter. Formed by merger of the Aviations companies Hawkins and Miranda. Initial price, 19,23?

Lasseter Armory: Maker of the famous M1 Lasseter Battle Rifle, has export contracts with Puerto Clave and Ostveg. Has a large product list for the civilian and militia markets in Sylvania as well. 14,52?

Reid-Dupont Industries: Mostly known for its steel and coke plants, has a minor business in Aluminum production. 25,95?

Baldwin Shipbuilding Corporation: Sylvania's primary producer of warships. This company has drydocks located in Baldwin-Whitehall, Charleroi, Duquesne and Presque. Currently enjoying a flurry of government contracts to build air craft carriers, destroyers and Cruisers. 30,21?



The numbers are arbitrary, i didnt have time to look up comparitive numbers so if you feel that you want to put your own numbers on these companies then feel free.

 

[Ivernia]

Aodh-Mór Corporation - Very large Corporation in Ivernia. Focusing on military aerospace, both research and production, it also has branches in security, urban development among others.

MacSweeney Aviation - Developers of civilian aeronautics, sold internationally. Lead developer of the iconic Airship.

Bank of Ivernia - Largest banking group in Ivernia. Has investments around the world.

 

[Serenierre]

Imperial Mining Company : The state company which is responsible for nearly all of Sikandara's mining operations, from coal to iron, and gold to silver.

Imperial Petroleum Corporation : As a major world producer of oil, the IPC has international relevance and its performance is vital in setting the Sikandari export of the substance.

Imperial Bank of Sikandara : Major bank, backed by the Imperial Holdings Company, which is owned by the Emperor.

OilSarmatia - Holds a monopoly on oil extraction and processing in the Mezhist Union. A petroleum powerhouse that aims to live up to its name and control all oil extraction in the entire Sarmatian region/Midlands.

Wit Duzynski Studios - Biggest animation firm in Sarmatia. Frequently produces international-quality films.

Posejdon Extraction - A potential megacorporation that deals in all manner of raw material extraction in the Mezhist Union, such as mining and logging. Deals with any exportation of raw materials.

Malek Aeronautics - The largest aeronautics company in the Mezhist Union. It spearheads a corporate alliance ("Coalition") of companies in cooperation to standardise aircraft design, manufacturing standards, etc, and is among the leading companies in the field, particularly in the area of jet engine technology.
