A military aircraft was flying over the Ânsheth, a long river that eroded the mountains creating a large U-shaped valley in the central mountain range, the valley was the most densely inhabited area of Iôrusah, and the main path from the southern flat coast to the northern fertile planes.
By the smallest of the two lakes in the valley, was the large capital city of Iôrusah: Thêrebe ''the colour of the sky during the sunset" Lônshaltheil, and in the military airbase of Thêrebe Lônshaltheil was standing the president of the "council of international affairs" usually abbreviated in COIA.
Mûlthak Iêlth, a former civil servant working in the COIA headquarters, rose to the respected role of COIA president after an unexpectedly successfully diplomatic mission to Kadikistan, and the suicide of the former president Ôske Êshakke, investigated for treason.
He was a tall, young man, with short, light brown hair, in a vintage hairstyle. famous for his self-composure and being always boringly calm.

With him was a group of delegates from other ministries, some policemen, two soldiers of the Royal Archers corps in full dress uniform, and a swarm of reporters and video cameras.

Vasco Márquez the Minister of Foreign Affairs, felt sick as the aircraft flew near the mountains. The scene brought back bad memories of the plane crash that had almost taken his life when he was just 19 years old. The small plane he was on was flying over the Shungu Mountains when a mechanical failure had caused it to crash and killed everyone in his university class except another young man. That had been close to 40 years ago but the memory still continued to haunt him, as it would most people.

As the plane slowly began to descend the Minister took a deep breath and closed his eyes. Every small move the plane made made his stomach turn and his heart beat faster. However, before he knew it the plane had landed on the runway at the airport in Therebe. Once it had landed the Minister let out a sigh of relief and began to focus on the trip that was about to begin.

The door of the aircraft opened and Mr Márquez rushed down the steps as fast he could. Once his feet touched Iorusan land he felt as if a heavy weight had been lifted from on top of his shoulders. His entourage slowly began to file off the aircraft as he approached the Mr Ielth, President of the COIA.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Mr Ielth" he said as he extended his hand to shake.

The president stood still as the airplane slowed down and stopped in front of his delegation. the COIA agreed that this opportunity should have been exploited as much as possible, the neutrality policy of the nation kept Iôrusah away from many lucrative and diplomatic agreements with the nearby nations, to avoid enraging Kadikistan, or losing the silent economic and diplomatic friendship with Eiffelland. A faraway friend to trade with could have been a unique opportunity to secure a prosperous future and, maybe, saving the nation from the impending socialist victory at the December elections.

As Vasco Márquez raised his hand, Mûlthak Iêlth gave him a friendly handshake and nodded his head as a greeting "the pleasure is all mine mr. Mârquez, I hope this occasion will be an opportunity for our nations to get closer, have you enjoyed the flight?"

Minister Márquez grimaced slightly when the President of the COIA asked him how his flight had been. "It was...alright, although I'm not too big of a fan of flying personally" he replied awkwardly. "Anyway, this will definitely be a good opportunity for our two nations to improve relations. I'm glad I got to visit Iorusah for the first time as part of the trip as well. It really is a beautiful country from what I've seen so far" he added, trying to move on from the topic of his flight.

"I heard that there are elections coming soon here. I hope this meeting is not at too bad of a time."

"the elections will start in mid-December, there's no such thing as bad time, just time, although I hope you will have a good one here" concluded Mûlthak Iêlth, as he was showing the way to the institutional cars waiting for them.

the cars proceeded slowly towards the Rio de Oro embassy, the embassy was to be established in a renovated old building few kilometres from Iâlrah Castle, the seat of the parliament.
As the cars approached, and the delegations got out of the cars, the swarm of reporters started to take pictures and film the event.
A large drape, decorated with drawings of local Iôrusahni flowers and Rio de Oro native plants, covered the main gate. as Vasco Márquez arrived in front of the gate, joined with Mûlthak Iêlth, the flashes of the cameras increased.
The two ministers accurately removed the drape and delivered it to the new ambassador.

After posing for a few pictures the delegations entered the building, in the wide entrance hall, with marble floors and wooden wall coverings, was a number of tables covered with drinks and snack food.
Mûlthak turned to the Rio de Oro delegation "feel free to visit the building, all your material and technical personnel will arrive tomorrow, when this will offically become Rio de Oro territory, but you can have a look at the hardware at your disposal, and of course the accommodation, we tried to arrange the building in a way you could find familiar, any question or request can be asked to Fôust Ênekthra, here, chief secretary of the embassies and consulates commission" he then looked at a small group of musicians in a corner "mûpasikkra rôl'klo jô" they immediately started playing some lounge music.

"That was a very nice ceremony, and I really do enjoy this Iorusahn music" Minister Márquez said to the President of the COIA. "Anyway, I'd like to introduce you to Roberto Narváez, he will be the ambassador from Rio de Oro to Iorusah. He's got plenty of experience in the Department but this will be his first ambassadorial role. I wouldn't worry though because he's very talented and will take up the role very well."

"It's lovely to meet you" said Roberto to the President as he held out his hand. "I really am very excited to take on the position and I look forward to getting to work with you."

"nice to meet you ambassador Narváez" said Mûlthak, shaking his hand "I hope you'll find your new home comfortable, Rio the Oro will be a key partner of the Motherland and we did our best to create a nice working environment for you and your colleagues"
"as I said earlier, for any question, request or problem your contact with the state machine is Fôust Ênekthra" he turned his head to find Fôust "Fôust, ête'kli jô"

"era, mîpanistar" answered a tall, blonde-haired, middle-aged man, as he walked towards the three "it's a pleasure to meet you ambassador Narváez, you can count on my confidentiality, anything you wish, I'll get it to you"

"I'll leave the ambassador to you Fôust" said Mûlthak

"alright minister. Ambassador have you met lieutenant Âktha Fedunov already? he'll be in charge of protecting the exteriors of the embassy"

Mûlthak then looked back at his equal "so minister Márquez, have you ever tried the iêthe herbal tea?"

The Ambassdor shook the hand of Mr Foust. "It's a pleasure to meet you. Since we'll be working closely why don't you tell me a bit about yourself" the Ambassador asked politely. Once he had listened to what Mr Foust had to say he turned his attention to Aktha Fedunov. "It's great to meet you too, Lieutenant Fedunov. Is there anything I or my staff should be weary of in this area of the city?" the Ambassador inquired.

"No Mr President, I don't believe I ever have tried the Iethe herbal tea" the Minister responded. "But, I would love to try it whilst I'm here. I am rather jealous that Ambassador Narváez will be able to explore the culture of Iorusah whilst I'll have to go home" he added with a genuine interest in the country.

Foust looked positively surprised by the ambassador's question "oh well..." he mumbled "there's not much to say about me... well... I grew up in the southern plains, in the city of iôelklan. my family is said to be of Germanic origin, like many others in the south. after graduating at the îshialburkkra universîkate iêjoshan, an important state university, I applied for a local job in the civil service, and after a lot of work and the support of my colleagues, I made it here, in the capital"

Âktha Fedunov saluted the ambassador and then shook his hand "thank you sir, and no sir, the iôlerth is a safe place, you shouldn't expect anything more than some drunkards in the night, and protesters during the day, nothing we and the sound insulation can't handle, sir" he concluded, with the hint of a smile.
"the iôlerth is the name of this river valley, ambassador Narváez, it means bastion, or safe heaven" pointed out Foust "sorry sir. ambassador, is there anything my people should be aware of?" replied Âktha



"then this will be a good opportunity to try it, there's a small office there, we can sit and have a chat. I have to warn you, there's not only herbs in the lêthe, we usually add some local liqueur to it"
Mûlthak added some liqueur to his cup and carefully mixed the tea with a long teaspoon "you can't really appreciate the mountain without the breeze..." he sipped "please, tell me about yourself, and call me Mûlthak, no need to stand on ceremony here"
