- Prime Minister calls for regional peace;
- Nitra to remain a neutral player in the local geopolitical game;
- Strife in Pannonia a part of a wider liberal vs conservative cold war;
Prime Minister Nedved has shown his concerns regarding the situation in Zara, as Nitra itself has its own minorities which total about 15% of the country's population, but has mentioned the historical social concord that has existed between them in the lands between the Zobor Mountains and the Modra Lowlands and has called for the nations situated in the area, which supersede quite a mosaic of ethnic groups, to do their utmost in respecting the rule of law and social concord, so that the rights of every citizen can be respected and the duties towards them fulfilled.
"The events in Pannonia are truly tragic, as they are inflaming the historical tensions that have existed between the Remis and the Bajorans, leading the region towards a geopolitical crisis of biblical proportions that can engulf the region and push us all into a destructive war. It is my firm belief that something like that is not an aim to any sane mind, but rather only the straying of gullible and naïve people whom are ready to jump the gun and fight in the name of patriotism, in total ignorance of the pain and suffering they can provoke. Local stability must be kept if the region is to continue to flourish and progress. Our own peoples deserve to live in peace with no fear of the day of tomorrow and the one after and it is the duty of any politician to be sure that this goal is accomplished. The government and people of Nitra will remain neutral in this issue and will not take a side, but rather, will lend a hand to both camps in aiding them return to the path of peace. We applaud the government of the Holy Frankish Empire and the Kingdom of Eiffelland for their calls for peace and negotiations, with the former going as far as inviting the camps to a conference to end this situation and we wish to join them in this call. Peace must prevail. In the end, the people want peace. That is what the people want," stated the right honourable Bohuslav Nedved.
Should the conflict in Zara escalate, the Gendarmerie Department of the Drnava Voivodeship has announced that is preparing for the worst and is setting up warehouses for supplies and equipping a local centre for the arrival of refugees from Pannonia. Colonel Timotej Horník, commander of the local gendarmerie unit has stated that the preparations are only for a worst case scenario, and that the authorities believe that there won't be a case for them to be used.

SOCIAL: Preparations for the holiday season are underway in many of Nitra's resorts. As the cold spring has given the chance to many skiers to still use the slopes in the Zobor mountains as late as mid April, rising temperatures and the sudden change from a cold and wintry spring to fully blown summer starting next week are giving many hotel owners great hopes that the May Day holiday, which traditionally opens the summer season, will come packed with tourists. Temperatures are set to rise up to even 30 degrees celsius by the 1st of May and there are have already been many reservations to the hotels in the resorts along the Axshaina Sea coast.
