The Republic of Tianlong does not understand as in the twenty-first century, the behavior of some states is nothing short of anachronistic and aggressive towards countries that have not conducted any action, diplomatic, military or of any kind, against Justosia and his kingdom. Condemning entire peoples to international oblivion just because they do not live under a form of government tolerated by your lordship, is an outdated and dangerous attitude. Uicheon might consider introducing the same measures as the Pelasgian People's Republic if Justosia's actions prove be a deliberate act to undermine the peace and coexistence of the nations. We may not have the largest merchant marine, but we are sure that the largest merchant marine in the world mostly carries our goods.

Subject: Public Statement Regarding Justosian Refusal to Recognize Socialist or Communist Nations

Communicated through the Gran-Occidentian Embassy:​

La Gran República Popular Plurinacional de San José is heartened to see the international community taking notice of the absurd, outrageous foreign policy of the Justosian government towards nations it views as "ideological enemies" to its way of life, and rightfully condemning this policy as anachronistic and unnecessarily aggressive. Not even the Tarusan Tsardom, whose ideological differences and diplomatic disputes with San José are well documented, has reached such a low and despicable policy, which we assume can only give the international community regardless of its ideological tendencies pause for concern of Justosia.

Worse still is the explanation given for such a preposterous policy, pointing to the recent arrests of eleven Justosian citizens as of this moment whose only crime is their ideology inspired by both San José and Pelasgia. These are not the actions of a rational, stable, and free government whose existence is exclusively towards the defense and prosperity of the people they govern. Rather, these are actions of a paranoid, tyrannical ruling class who stifle freedom of thought and freedom of speech, suppressing civil and political rights to preserve their outdated "way of life" that is more at home in the eighteenth century rather than the twenty-first. If the Justosian government is so frightened of eleven ideological dissidents, and a twelfth who was mercilessly gunned down by security forces, to isolate itself from a significant segment of the international world, how strong is that government, really?

We furthermore applaud the Republic of Tianlong and the Pelasgian People's Republic for loudly and decisively condemning the Justosian government's ridiculous and inflammatory policy, and call upon the remainder of the international community in joining us in condemning this rogue, paranoid state that dares to call itself a "Continental Empire" until such a policy is reversed. Similarly to what the foreign ministries of Pelasgia and Tianlong are considering, we too withhold recognition and will continue to do so until the Justosian foreign policy decisively changes. If the Justosians truly wish to be isolated from the world as well as reality, let them feel the consequences of such folly.

The Pelasgian People's Republic has no link to the tragic and criminal events which transpired in Justosia. We always condemn terrorism of any kind.

If Avalon has any proof of our or any other foreign government's involvement in that terrorist attack, let them present it to us; otherwise, we reject any attempt to paint us as a purveyor of international terror. We do not accuse Justosia of responsibility for any attack carried out by reactionary elements on our own soil, absent convincing and substantial proof to that effect. We demand the same basic courtesy from our Justosian counterparts.

If Justosia does not restore full recognition and diplomatic relations by the beginning of next week, we will withdraw our recognition of its government, in addition to imposing a host of other sanctions. We thank @Tianlong and the other members of the international community for standing beside us in this matter.

I would like to pause and paraphrase something that His Serenity, Doge Clemente III, said recently. We are more than ideology, I am with politics and beliefs, but I am not only those things. I live in a world were people disagree with me and I have to accept that. I can still trade, still work with, and even partner with people who I disagree with.

Ten years ago, I was initially skeptical when, the then leader of the Communist Party, a parliamentary role I now have, opted to form an alliance with the Conservatives. It was a very productive alliance; we got a lot done for the benefit of the citizens of the republic.

I know in this role my own domestic politics are rarely brought up, as I speak now for the Serene Republic, not myself or my party. But I wanted to draw attention to people in civilized nations work with each other.

Disagreement is part of being civilized. This hissy fit shows that the Continental Empire of Justosia is not behaving as a civilized nation. We, standing with our friends and partners, will also withdrawal formal diplomatic recognition if this regime, unless these very reasonable conditions laid out are met.

Esteemed excellencies,

I would like, first and foremost to condemn the acts of terrorism worldwide and in particular the one that happened a few days in Avalon, the capital of the Continental Empire of Justosia. Let it be known that the Constitutional State of Natal stands by the authorities and the families of the victims and those who witnessed it, whom are shaken by this brazen and barbarous attempt to instil fear and instability into the hearts and minds of the people responsible for administering the nation, the people, that is, who are responsible for all the inhabitants within the Justosian Archipelago, be they citizens or subjects or neither.

Secondly, we would like to make it known that the Constitutional State and its people stand against any form of forced regime chances or political violence, as they bring strife, destruction and suffering, stifling any form of development and breaking the bonds of solidarity, friendship and unity within a people, making any of the aforementioned actions being nothing more than low key civil and fratricide wars. We thoroughly condemn them all.

Thirdly, we would like to call on the Justosian government to adopt a reasonable and responsible foreign policy. It is true that the arrested suspects, which we hope are still given the "not guilty until proven otherwise" status, had Josefino and Pelasgian ideological works in their posession, but books that discuss and analyse the political systems do not automatically mean that the aforementioned states promote terrorism and want to export revolutions. The simple fact that the Grand Plurinational People's Republic of San Jose is closely aligned to Natal, which is a liberal democracy and with Gran Occidentia which is an integralist state, whom more than anything a completely level headed and pragmatic approach to foreign policy. If it would be that Palmira is a centre of revolutionary agitation, Natal and Gran Occidentia would have been by now in an ideological war with them.

This and the fact that the Continental Empire has rescinded the recognition since the socialist revolution in San Jose, not just in the mere days that passed since the tragic terrorist attack in Avalon, makes us see that it is a Justosian characteristic of foreign policy to keep the ideology still as a paramount element when discussing state relations. It is sad that such an obsolete policy is still in place. We thank God that the other nations of the world are more open and that likes for example us, the Natalians open to discussions with the HFE, Tarusa and even Scanlaw alike open, as in the end, diplomatic recognition isn't about liking or not a regime, but about projecting your power as a state to protect your interests and your citizen's interests in the said area.

We stand by the Republic of Tianlong as we say, not as socialist states, but rather as liberal democracies, that the Continental Empire must change this policy as a favour not to the world, but to its own citizens and open up diplomatic channels with all the nations of the world, leaving behind the archaic policies of the 1960s and ensuring that its citizens and subjects have representation wherever they are on the globe. The Continental Empire aspires to be a world player and be respected on the international stage. For that, it must offer respect too, not only demand it. We hope that the good ties between not only our nations but between all the nations on the world continue to develop.

To whom it may concern,

Greetings. As highest elected official in the archipiélago, I would like to thank most of the prior corresponding parties for their input. This administration which I oversee has decided to formally recognize the Pelasgian People's Republic after lower level talks between our respective foreign ministries.

I am a Social Democrát. I personally disagree with the current official foreign policy of not recognizing Socialist/Communist governments only for that reason. Dialogue is crucial. As we've just witnessed. I agree very strongly that respect must be given to be earned. I'm heartened that we overcame a barrier with the PPR. However that is a two way street. This administration should not, at all, I believe, recognize hard line revolutionary Socialist/Communist governments who openly & proudly exclaim their intent to export, by virtually whatever means necessary, their particular brand of leftist & collectivist government. One cannot, with credibility, sit in their respective cradle of power, & demand one play with someone who has called for the annihilation of their way of life. Be it whatever facet. These nations I believe, abuse certain rights under the table as well. For these reasons, I agree with the Foreign Ministry holding the rest of the ratings on that list. This also applies to nations we feel are closely aligned with nations like that & possibly partner with them militarily. I would say the same of a hard right foreign government.

Disagreements are healthy. I have a few with our Foreign Ministry organ. However our Soberana has as always, the final say. I have faith in her pragmatism. I am the first Social Democrát head of government since 1971. Being such I can advise that piling on the diplomatic channel is not the way to prod this nation into what you perceive as the future. Justosia was built on a rigid ideology, one family, & their Divine Right as monarchs. The law barring official relations with hard left nations was originally passed in 1920. It has been upheld in that body, & our courts before. I personally believe it's on its last legs. All nations liberalize at their own pace. Thank you.

Communicated to Justosia through the Gran-Occidentian Embassy:​

After consultation with Secretario General Gabriel Morales, on behalf of the Grand People's Committee and the people of San José, la Gran República Popular Plurinacional wishes to issue the following clarification regarding its foreign policy, as this misunderstanding, whether with malicious intent or ignorant innocence, of Josefino intentions on the international stage has gone on long enough with too much ink, treasure, and blood spilled over what essentially amounts to nothing.

Josefino foreign policy is focused primarily on national security, in particular regard to political, civil, and economic protection of the Josefino people against the hostile forces of the Global Exploitation Conspiracy. Josefino foreign policy is focused secondarily on the regional security of Occidentia against the same hostile forces of the Global Exploitation Conspiracy. Those who observe this will note that nowhere in that foreign policy as it currently stands is a stated call for a communist world revolution, nor has there ever been a stated call for a communist world revolution in the history of San José.

This is, in fact, slanderous propaganda foisted upon the people of San José by those who seek to paint all leftist nations in the same brush and subsequently punish them for daring to have distinct ideological differences, as though they are part of a hivemind of Marxism which does not and has not ever existed, as is self-evident by the current political state of the world. San José does not and never has exported revolutionary personnel or weapons, unless you can classify our humanitarian aid in the form of coffee, rum, and marijuana as revolutionary weapons. Neither does it export or support the tactics of terrorism or assassination, as these are tools of the Global Exploitation Conspiracy rather than the free world. Additionally, San José does not and never has geared itself towards aggressive invasion of foreign powers to impose its way of life upon them, as its armed forces instead are crafted around and meant for the national defense of the Josefino people against hostile international forces.

We hope that this exhaustive explanation and clarification of our foreign policy lays bare the obsolete, ideological discrimination that we have been subjected to for over seven decades by Justosia since the Collectivist Revolution of 1950 C.E. We furthermore sincerely thank and appreciate the foreign offices of Pelasgia, Tianlong, Radilo, and Natal for rallying the free world to our righteous cause and nobly calling this ideological discrimination for what it is: absurd, ridiculous, and with no place in the twenty-first century. Lastly, we renew our stated willingness to recognize the Justosian government as a sovereign nation only after it renounces its seventy-two yearlong ideological discrimination of San José. Despite what agents of the Global Exploitation Conspiracy may claim, we are a reasonable people, one that desires peace and prosperity for all rather than war and destruction, and we are willing to work with reasonable people throughout the world, but we will never bow to international bullying, exploitation, or oppression, as no nation or people ever should.

That hope, however, has been severely tempered with dismay over the reaction of the Justosian Nationalists who have refused to leave their delusions of paranoid anti-socialism behind and their instigation of protests in Avalon. Notably, we have also not received word from the Justosian Foreign Ministry of recognition despite the Justosian Capital Court ordering the ministry to follow through with the Imperial Edict.

All of this factors into this department's ongoing withholding of recognition, which shall continue until the Justosian Foreign Ministry follows through with the Imperial Edict. We remain hopeful of positive change finally reaching Justosia, but our hopes have been dimmed by this irrational reaction, and even if Justosian recognition finally comes, we worry that within a year we shall revert back to a ridiculous status quo.

We shall continue to monitor the situation, and respond accordingly.

It would be unwise for your government to interpret the Emperatriz order to recognize your government other than what it is, her continued commitment to peace & de-escalation in Europe. As she believes peace is Godly & we are an archipiélago of Christian faith. Hopefully yet more proof that the monarchies of the east are led even handily will put an end to your government's varied ongoing propaganda machines. We would welcome such a development.

Furthermore, we are not sure exactly what about the imperial mainland your foreign intelligence has gathered, but citizens can protest freely, with municipal permits of course. What your organ is complaining about is democracy in action. We find this utterly confusing.

Lastly, we feel we should remind your government that an Imperial Edict in regards to directives to the government in her name, is automatically law. The lower facets have of course followed. This government recognizes yours. As long as, of course, that is reciprocated. As we fully expect it to be now that we have cleared up that misunderstanding. God bless you. Viva Justosia.

We consider it a good development that Justosia starts to recognise San José and the Pelasgian People's Republic as sovereign nations. It is unavoidable to notice that there is a variety of ways in which countries are governed. Recognising this fact is the key to a peaceful coexistence of various people and various nations.

Infrastructure:

° Interior Ministry announces plans to construct a surface bridge linking Marco Island, the small island right off the east coast of the empire, with the Port Marsella. The western most point of Puerta Island directly across. Finance Minister says project will cost roughly §50 million. Logistical planning already underway.

° Interior Minister recommends Orerio as site for new AISA (Archipiélagic Imperial Space Agency) HQ. As closest to the Castilonia Desert in the southwest of the mainland, it's virtually perfect for such testing. Program is so far estimated to cost §400-450 million.

Europe:

° Emperatriz to travel to Polesia in an official capacity to witness the coronation of incoming Polesian Queen Yuliya II. Imperial Palace released statement saying that investiture of a new female sovereign is a step forward for all women of Europe.

° EF poised to ascend Whitaker Plan. Justosia's vote is for.

° Batallón Sierra arrives in designated area in Lethonian region for peacekeeping mission under EF mandate. Batallón is accompanied by the appropriate compliment of APCs. No further armaments were deemed necessary by the Defense Ministry.

The Lethonian Military alongside its Scanian partners has taken prompt notice of a land embarkment of your battalion within the sovereign territory of the Republic of Lethonia. We will remind your governmental arm that Justosia's peacekeeping forces in that area are operating under a mandate for the European Forum in regards to the incoming international peacekeeping forces.

We would also advise your government on a more responsible course of action, immediately. Any aggressive actions taken against them will not only be met with appropriate force, it would also be a declaration of war against the EF & the more level headed nations Europe who have also deployed forces to that area.

This Ministry would like to make it clear that we have requested you, Most Honorable Alphonso Albares, and that the General Communication of your Office is most certainly recieved as a diplomatic faux pas and insult. Considering that the Most Honorable Alphonso Albares is not in direct correspondence, the failures of the Imperial Foreign Ministry are not entirely laid alone for him. However, as this Imperial Foreign Ministry is under his management, it is our displeasure to educate his Ministry on the errors of their judgment. Considering the text of European Forum Resolution No. 2/2022, "Bourdignie Peacekeeping Operation and Lethonian Weapons of Mass Destruction" that just alone in the title suggests no such mandate for military affairs on Lethonian soil, this Ministry will further elaborate that White Helmet operations are defined by EF Resolution No. 2/2022 Article 1 which states, «...for the creation of a peacekeeping force of five thousand (5000) men (the "White Helmets") to be composed of no more than a thousand men from each contributing nation, a thousand of which are to be provided by the Holy Frankish Empire and the Empire of Tarusa, and the remainder whereof are to be provided by such nations and to such extent as the EF members themselves shall decide», followed by Article 2 which clearly delineates their geographical range as «...the legal boundaries of the nation of Bourdignie upon the arrival of the first of the E.F. White Helmet forces». Thus as part of the European Forum mandated geographic region, the Continental Empire of Justosia has made an error of the greatest sort and subject to profound consequence. Therefore this Ministry will make the point to state for a second time that there is no part of Lethonian territory that is subject to European Forum jurisdiction despite the now doubled-down erroneous position taken by the Justosian military and now Imperial Foreign Ministry. The same consequences and stipulations go unchanged from our prior communiqué and it is the pleasure of this Ministry to remind the Continental Empire that is now has 71 hours reminding.
