Queen Rosa XIII Approves to Increased Military Funding

In the recent Military Budget Adjustment Act 2011 which has Royal approval, proposed by the Union Senat/Unie Senaat, will increase military funding by 33%. The Queen said;

"In order to maintain our presence in this increasingly violent continent, we must be able to defend ourselves from foreign invasion. To continue our tradition of free trade and naval prowess, we must commit more funding to growing our navy. This Act will increase stability within our borders and abroad. I fully approve of the Senate's actions."

There is the question however, of whom the weapons will be coming from. Die Königlichen Streitkräfte will be hosting a tryout soon, involving many of the worlds most powerful systems. It is rumored that the Streitkräfte will move away from some of the Dutch weapons that currently equip our armies.

Dutch Weapons Remain Prominent In Armed Forces

The Dutch company FN Herstal, re-established itself as the nations more favored weapons company. Whether it be the FN Five Seven (pistol for armed forces, law enforcement, and nearly every other possible application possible in Hoffish society), or the FN SCAR ( for every possible military application). The Queen has stated that, 'Since it's [reffering to; FN Herstal] beginning, it has always contributed largely to the nations Defense. And as far as my family is concerned, it always will.'. However, when it comes to tanks, artillery, and aircraft, Die Streitkräfte has decided to begin using primarily German weaponry. With royal approval.

The trend in our countries government seems to be leaning towards a more pro-EDF style. I do not think this should be the case. Should our grand nation really be pulled into the conflicts of others? Have we not built a well reputation as a well defensed but neutral nation? To echo the words of Dietrich Von Sunter, "Our nation has always been mainly neutral. Not because we are incapable of defending ourselves, but because we mind our own. And thats how a nation recieves success." (1885). Our nation needs to continue that tried and true path. We must steer clear of EDF's corrupting influence, and focus more on dealing with our own issues.
