A visit from a Head of State, specially a King, is always an event of great joy in Portusgalia. For ages that a foreign king didn't set foot on Portusgalia, and it is very unnusual to the Queen D. Constança I to get out of the country.

Since this event is public, the place chosen for the reception will be the Ajuda Palace, the Royal Palace in the city of Lisbon. The Ajuda, is a humongous palace never completed, and dates back to the 18th century. Since the Queen generally lives in the Pena Palace in Sintra, she isn't much to continue the construction of the architectonic monster. Besides, she is even more cheapskate then the current government. The Queen is more a business woman rather then a Queen, actually before she was claimed Queen, she was a successful Landowner in Mozambia.

The Kings of Bangala are received in the traditional portusgalian way. The royal cruiser of Bangala port on Lisbon, and the Royal entourage enter in the city by the Cais das Colunas pier. This pier is the noble entrance of the city, so several employees had clean the marble stone from barnacles, seaweeds and slime. The "Bergantim Real", is the ceremonial ship that took the Kings of Bangala to land. It resembles a miniature galley. The one that carries the Kings date back to 1808.

On a highly decorated podium on land the Queen welcomes the Bangalan Royal Family, and presents the Kings of Bangala to the city of Lisbon. The people claps and ovate the Bangalan Royal family, with an enthusiastic joy.
The reason behind such a joy by seeing the Bangalan head of state, is simple. The portusgalians regard the Kings of Bangala has a kind of heroes. Since the portusgalians detest the dutch, their old arch-rivals, the Bangalans are an example of resistance against the dutch. The defeat of the portusgalians in Bangala, in the 18th century, became a fact of folk culture... In fact it is good for the Bangalan Kings.
After it, several cars take the Royal Families to the Ajuda Palace where they will be received. The Kings will rest there till the night, where a huge prom will be given in their honor...

In the night after the typical protocols, the Queen starts the talks with his Bangalan counterpart...

Queen D. Constança I: Finnaly Your Royal Majesty, I meet you in person, the great black King of Himyar! It is an honor to have you on my palace and kingdom!

The Queen is known to be very direct, and protocolless... For some reason she is feared in Portusgalia, because she doesn't conceals her thoughts...

She is not than cold and rude as diplomats told me...

King Maximiliaan V: Yes, yes it is very good to be here your grace, Portusgalia is a very beautiful kingdom, and Lisbon it's a great city.
And your grace, hope I can visit the Pena Palace, heard that is a wonderful palace, with great architectural references. But how is going Portusgalia, goes well?

The King is known for talking too much, and loves long conversations about music and architecture but becomes a very quiet person when someone asks him about the Zwart coast

Two almost soul-mates meet... The Queen is also known to have a great passion for conversation, specially with foreigners. The King of Bangala, was even more interesting, because it was from her home continent.

Queen D. Constança I: Of course Your Majesty, if it is Your desire to visit the Pena Palace I will provide all what is needed to stay at Pena Palace. It is a great honor to take you there, you will love the Palace... Your counselor said Your Majesty is a great lover of art and architecture! The Pena Palace is one of the must representative examples of Romantic Architecture in Europe, it was built by our King D. Fernando II in the late 1840s... Do you like scenic gardens? Pena Palace is a world of scenic garden world...

Since the King asked for the "hard conversation", on Portugalia's status quo, the Queen was forced to enter the subject... Probably when she get to Pena Palace the conversation will be more trivia... She was a sick of hard conversations, but it was her duty...

Queen D. Constança: Well Your Majesty, the country runs the same way has it runs always... A realm of peace, way from the world stresses of war conflicts and other sorts of diplomatic confusions. I personally give orders to my Secretary of Foreign Affairs to avoid that awful provocation chitchat... But yes, unfortunately some stresses with Carentania and their Revolutionary Defense Treaty fellow countries did happen in the late mounths because of Danmark stupidity in Eastern Cape, and we heard a strong fallacious statements by the side of the communist countries regarding a forced "expulsion" of Himyar of all european countries in order to free the himyari peoples of their alleged suffering and exploration. We kind felt insulted by those statments Your Majesty! I supported an hole war in 1928 for the sake of equality and civil rights of the Himyari and they say that!? For Christ sake, our parliament more the 70% of the deputies are from Himyar! Non-senses... I was forced to decree a State of War in order to protect our citizens and their properties, but is was an defensive stance. I think the RDT understood our position, and the great opposition of the Himyari portusgalians towards their aggressive speech. Now they are bullying Erdenshire... That naval base of Asylan at the south of Eastern Cape. But after this they say we are the imperialists, while they deploy several soldiers and ships in Himyar... Always lying, thats why I hate communists... Unfortunately we have to live with this crooks this days, isn't that right Your Majesty?

King Maximiliaan V: Yes, yes, your grace, we live in difficult times ...

The King thinks well and sees that he must talk with her about the Zwart Coast now.

King Maximiliaan V: Look on the bright side, Portusgalia has international tensions, and not national ... just like Bangala.
Your Grace must have seen in the newspapers about our Zwart Coast, no?
We were lucky to not have any armed conflict...

The Queen have listen to the word... Zwart Coast, suddenly on her head one word came to mind "Geckos!!!!".

Queen D. Constança: Oh... Those geckos* always on the top of their ivory tower, even if it is falling down they always see their selfs has the kings of the world... They regard Bangala has their court yard! Remember that Your Majesty!

The Queen really didn't like very much the dutch, while the rest of the government personnel was neutral... But the Queen was always a women of strong opinions.

Queen D. Constança: Your Majesty, I have heard the news about a kind of dutch putsch in the "Zwart Coast" has they call that area... I don't like their version of the History, it is too much fiction. Is it rude by my side to ask Your Majesty to tell me what really happened?

*Portusgalian slang for dutch.

The King drinks a glass of water and starts to tell the old Portusgalian Queen

King Maximiliaan V: They want to be independent, but they saw that they could not react to such pressure that would be their racial war ... but in fact they only stated that when they rebelled against the Parliament of the County of Ndongo and wanted to do their "own" Parliament.
But this time the Protector of the Realm must have already met their leader and have ended with that mess..

Queen D. Constança: Just has I stated Your Majesty... They regard them selves has the owners of Bangala...
Thank God no conflict gone further, if that happened we didn't knew what reaction the insidious Carentanians wold have in this case. Since they have a tendency to absurdity probably they would support the dutch and paint Your Majesty in the world has a cruel tyrant of Himyar. I suggest though love in this situation, and a firm hand of Your Majesty. If my support to you in this case is vital, just be free to ask.
Elefanta, according to my Prefect in the island, suffers several "masked threats"... According to him, they like very much the oil that lies beneath the island. I don't know what they plan in there, but their enlargement of their fleet in the area isn't exactly a Pro Bono situation, since they have something in mind. That Protector of them plays with a two point stick, remember that one point can be pointed at Your Majesty...

In other ways, speaking of better news, if it is the desire of Your Majesty... Has the desire of my subjects in Elefanta they hold like to be closer to Bangala that they really are now days. I has been asked to me, by my Prefect in Elefanta, that the population desires "less control" in the voyages between Elefanta and Bangala. Only a small strip of sea separates the two areas... It hold be sensate to abolish borders between Bangala and Elefanta and allow the inhabitants to circulate freely between the two sides without always showing the passport and all that bureaucratic processes. Remember one thing, people are connected with each other, and many Bangalans have family in Elefanta and many portusgalians of Elefanta have family in Bangala. I think it is a very human point of view, we cannot be cruel in this. Other parts propose a free trade status with Bangala, without taxes and open borders between Elefanta and Bangala.

The King called one of his ambassadors who brings a great map. They take all the things from the table and in seconds it becomes a conference table with many maps.

King Maximiliaan V: Yes your grace, I had an idea in mind.. build a bridge.. not a simple bridge, but "The Bridge", an iron bridge linking the Elefanta Island and Bangala.
An expensive project, I know but we need this, and will be and conection and will help in the economy of the Island as well the acess to the continent!
Of course we need the approval of Marshal Corte-Real, but what you can say your majesty?

The Queen was impressed with the idea of the King of Bangala...

Queen D. Constança: I must say Your Majesty it is a pretty nice project... You have my aproval for that, I'm certain Marshal Côrte-Real won't have nothing negative to say, their the Prefect Mascarenhas, the famous "Zumby of Elefanta"...

And my proposal to Your Majesty, is it out of the table? The bridge will help it very much...

King Maximiliaan V: Yes, Yes Your Grace I would like to establish a passport to the people of the both places to they circulate in the nations.
And between this bridge will be a stand a post to take care of people who pass through the bridge and this totally free and also we would need help of one Sylvanian or Engellexic industry why this is a big project and will need many architects, machinery, ships and workers...

The Queen wasn't too much happy to see foreign names on the list...

Queen D. Constança: Why, Your Majesty, don't we do the things our selfs? Relying on foreign constructors and contractors isn't the best option for our development... Some times we must have to do things by our own. I'm certain that in Bangala and Portusgalia there are architects and civil engineers capable of this job,.

Queen D. Constança: Of course Your Majesty, I'm a woman of only one word...

For the bridge I suggest a joint venture between bangalans and portusgalians. It will be good believe me, we have much to learn from the Bangalans and the Bangalans from us.

The King gives a smile and put the map in a capsule.

King Maximiliaan V: This map is yours, and my emissaries will make a decent contract for us ... and Your Majesty has more subjects of your interest?
