National ~ Palmira, Josepania: The first of two significant atmospheric rivers has impacted the western coastal states of Josepania today, bringing widespread heavy rain and mountain snow, along with increased flash flood warnings to the area. The first storm is expected to move through the nation over the next two days, bringing widespread rain totals of 5 to 12 centimeters across the Alta Josepania region with a couple meters of wet, heavy snow in the Montañas de Granito. Baja Josepania is also seeing significant rain, with 3 to 8 centimeters expected across much of the region. The second storm arriving early next week is predicted by the Presidential Weather Service to be significantly worse, with the models showing the second atmospheric river potentially stalling or slowing down over the interior of Baja Josepania, which could bring prolonged periods of heavy rain on already saturated soils, drastically increasing the potential risk of flash floods. El Presidente José David Costantino, in a short statement today, declared a State of Emergency for Alta and Baja Josepania in advance of the flash floods, and urged citizens to stay indoors if possible to reduce the workload on emergency personnel.

International ~ Kremlyov, @Tarusa: Emperor Konstantin has accused the Communal Order of @Thaumantica of shooting down a long-range reconnaissance aircraft over the Southern Thaumantic in international waters. In a public announcement broadcasted by the Foreign Affairs Ministry, the Tarusan Emperor also further accused the Communal Order of repeatedly violating the airspace of the @Angliarique Empire, and that this was the second incident involving Tarusan recon aircraft and aggressive Thaumantic responses. El Presidente in a statement to The Palmira Times indicated that "although we have questions about some of the alternative facts and unusual viewpoints of the Tarusans in their recounting of historical events, nonetheless their allegations if true are deeply disturbing. The Josepanian government is working to independently confirm the facts in these allegations, and will respond accordingly if proven truthful."

National ~ Monte Argento, Josepania: The Presidential Army Corps of Engineers has begun a survey of southern-most Josepania centered around the regional capital of Monte Argento prompted by a state visit from President Ross of the United Republic of @Natal for the purposes of determining the viability of a grand canal connecting the Implarian and Thaumantic seas. While the pros of such a plan in reducing the complexity of trade infrastructure as currently set up in Josepania are self-apparent, the isthmus itself still presents a geographic challenge in setting up the canal and working with the numerous rivers that run through the area, not to mention the sheer financial size of the project. Nonetheless, El Presidente who met with President Ross indicated his optimism that such a plan would go through and "would bring untold prosperity to the Occidental Republic of Joseapania and its neighbor Natal in helping ease the burden of global trade, with the hopes that this trade would bring wealth to all the peoples of the world rather than just a select few corporations working for the aims of the Global Exploitation Conspiracy."

International ~ Caitekurke, @Thaumantica: The Foreign Ministry of the Thaumantic Communal Order released a statement earlier today in direct response to the Emperor of @Tarusa accusing the Order of shooting down a Tarusan reconnaissance craft over the Southern Thaumantic Ocean. The Thaumantics have claimed that the cause of the crash was of a midair collision with a civilian cargo plane, the nationality of which is unknown. The Tarusan Foreign Ministry has continued to dispute this claim, but the Thaumantic Communal Order to this point has insisted upon this story. When asked about these developments, El Presidente remarked, "One side has not disclosed the full truth, it appears as though the international community can only wait for independent verification of the facts, which unfortunately are not forthcoming. In the meantime we join @The Federation and the @Socialist Commonwealth in calling for calm tempers and our hopes that the actors involved do not escalate tensions, and our assistance in discovering the truth whatever it may be."

National ~ Palmira, Josepania: On Twatter, El Presidente sent out a Twatt floating the concept of an Implarian Republican League that would include nations such as Josepania, The Federation of Westernesse, the United Republic of @Natal and the Republic of @Tianlong as a response to the continuing tensions in Gallo-Germania. Touted by El Presidente as a way to "come together to ensure economic and political stability," President Walter Langley of the Federation responded through Twatter that such discussions "would be a most welcome development in the current state of world relations." Likewise, President Bradley Ross of Natal also responded on Twatter that "Colter will stand together with Palmira and Charleroi into building a flourishing future for posterity." Following these encouraging responses, sources close to the Department of Foreign Affairs have confirmed that a conference including diplomats from the Federation and Natal "could occur in the foreseeable future relating to El Presidente's call to create a regional bloc."

International ~ Charleroi, @The Federation: The Secretary of State of the Federation released a public statement earlier today announcing that it would not partake in the Conference at Wien, @Ostmark for the purposes of creating a successor international organization to the European Forum, which remains unoccupied following the Frescania Incident involving the @Angliarique Empire and the Republic of @Tianlong as well as continued military occupation by the Empire of @Tarusa and an ongoing ecological disaster. Federation Secretary Graves specifically cited the Tarusan refusal to extend an invitation to the @Hanseatic Republics to the meeting. When asked for comment, El Presidente expressed his disappointment over this development "when the overall goal of the conference is to include every nation, but the original intent, to my understanding, was to ensure prevention of any derailment that may occur from over-inclusion, an effort that has unfortunately failed even if the conference will occur regadless."

International ~ Shinkyô, @Touzen: The Office of Revolutionary Defense and State Relations in the Anti-State has, simultaneously with the Federation's announcement of refusal to participate in Wien, announced its own efforts to revive the European Forum in formal opposition to the Wien Conference. This coincidentally occurred while, through Twatter, El Presidente formally withdrew Josepanian membership from the European Forum, citing the continued inactivity of nations in its efforts to reorganize outside of the Tarusan-led conference in Wien. El Presidente has expressed his skepticism of this project, worrying that "we may end up in a situation with two rival international organizations in the world, a completely unacceptable outcome given the principled goals of all parties involved."

International ~ Calva Central, Calva: Representatives of the Josepanian Presidential Cocoa Company (PCC) have arrived in Calva Antrale to meet with representatives of the Commonwealth Central Government to begin transportation of construction and agricultural supplies, advisors and workers, and money to enact the first phase of the agreement reached between Calva and Josepania. Along with the construction of plantations, the PCC will also be responsible for constructing the infrastructure necessary to transport materials between the plantations and ports, both sea and air, and the land will be leased to them for the duration of this investment into developing Calvan agriculture. Local Calvan politicians, led by Minister of Interior Construction Alavarte have been quick to express their support for the project, with Minister Alvarte stating that "the generosity of El Presidente and the Josepanian people cannot be overstated. Through their assistance in diversifying our primary sector, our citizens can experience the peace, prosperity, and partnership that our Occidentian neighbors enjoy."

An excerpt from this report obtained by the Palmira Times speculates that "in order for the Occidental Republic to be truly involved in a pan-continental market aimed at collective peace and prosperity, no nations should be excluded from this opportunity, most especially those of our eastern and southern neighbors whose natural resources, industries, and labor forces can contribute to regional economic security and wealth." When asked for comment, El Presidente declined to confirm or deny the report, but indicated that "the logic as you have presented it makes sense. With the world rapidly devolving into war and chaos and agents of the Global Exploitation Conspiracy advancing their nefarious agendas, now more than ever must the Free New World unite in the face of malice and oppression. The next step will be to see if, in the near future, this can expand to include military and perhaps political unity between our republics." This bill in Natal was passed simultaneously with a near-identical bill in the Occidental Congress, with the majority People's Party spearheading the United Front's efforts to enact the will of the Josepanian people as described by El Presidente, who will sign the bill later today. With these two bills, the sister republics of Natal and Josepania have next to no restrictions on trade and travel, which should follow the predictions of the Natalian White Paper in prompting an economic boom in both countries.

International ~ Charleroi, @The Federation: Along with news of the passing of the Border Relaxation Bill, El Presidente indicated that "negotiations with The Federation of Westernesse on enacting policies similar to what has been achieved between Josepania and Natal are ongoing and promising, albeit have been temporarily sidelined to prioritize other forms of cooperation, given the expanding conflicts in the Meridian Sea." Those conflicts, namely the Ebrian Civil War and the Pelasgo-Radillan War, have seen Josepania decisively declare their support for the Ebrian Republic and the Radillan Republic respectively, with recognition for the Republic in the former conflict, and Josepanian deployment of naval assets to I Caraibi to take over protection duties in the latter, with additional military deployments for similar missions expected there and in Radillan L'Oriente. Sanctions have also been placed on Alfonsist and Pelasgian political figures and organizations, and it's expected these responses will escalate if needed.
