:!: Parliament Agrees to Take Refugees
The House of Commons has agreed to take 2,500 Surian refugees from the Tishonga Refugee camp outside of Nouveau Port. Under the terms of the agreement, the refugees will be given temporary residency visas, with the option of applying for permanent visas or even citizenship. The refugees will be provided with a housing subsidy, and will be given job training and language education.

With the elections for the House of Commons less than a week away, campaigning is entering into high gear. As of now the National Peoples’ Party (NPP) is narrowly leading the Free Liberal Party (FLP). Current projections give the NPP a slight majority, assuming no third party gains any seats. Though the FLP has been narrowing their lead throughout the election, and may overtake them by election day.
