Seventy-Four New Confirmed Cases of H3N2 in Misłika

According to an official Ministry of Health report released by Deputy Minister of Health, Dr. Marek Sawiszky, at least seventy-four new cases of the H3N2 influenza virus have been confirmed in the "Islamic Quarter" of Misłika, in the Grand Principality of Trzy Rzeki. This round of confirmed diagnoses raise the total count of influenza cases in the city to a ground total of one hundred and ninety-seven, making this the highest saturation of the normally mild strain of the influenza virus in the entire Kingdom.

Complicating matters in Misłika is the general unwillingness of the entirely Muslim Gudanzka to accept treatment from Army Doctors, who are at the current time, the only medical practitioners in the Kingdom allowed to dispense the vaccine- stemming from the scandals of last years, where a number of civilian doctors (the majority of whom were themselves either Cuman or Gudanzka Muslims) were found to be funneling significant quantities of the vaccine into the so-called "Black Bazaar of the East," an extensive network of Muslim criminals and dissidents active in a number of LFS member-states.

In his report, Dr. Sawiszky warned that the growing epidemic in Misłika would quickly grow "entirely out of hand," unless some measures were taken to ensure that "either the virus is contained within its current geographical distribution within the city, through means of a quarantine, or unless Gudanzka community leaders lessen the hard-line they've taken and allow non-Muslim doctors to administer vaccines to those not already infected, or to provide treatment for those that already are."

As stated, the H3N2 strain of the influenza virus, in its most recent forms of mutation in human hosts has been relatively mild, but without proper medical treatment, it is still highly likely that a high ratio of casualties will result from infection, unless proper medical treatment is sought out immediately. Whatever the case, the Ministry of Health remains dedicated to seeing the possibility of the expansion of this virus checked, and will do all within its power to maintain the safety and welfare of all loyal subjects of the Crown of Międzymorze.

The situation within our Kingdom has unfortunately been complicated by decades of mistrust and lawlessness on the part of our own Muslim population, and it is our hope that this truly humane offer might in some way reach the hardened hearts of the leadership of the Gudanzka community in Misłika.

Arrangements will be made to allow for the safe transport of any Yamani doctors into the Kingdom, and in particular, the effected areas of the city of Misłika.

On behalf of his Majesty, Krol Kazimierz V, the Royal Council Ministry of Health and Welfare of the Kingdom of Międzymorze asks that the community of nations recognize that the matter of less than two hundred backwards and purposefully difficult Islamists being infected with a relatively unhesitant strain of the H3N2 influenza virus is not a matter for true concern, or the alteration of business activities as they are usually conducted- as has been the case with the rash measures taken by the Kingdom of Belmont, and the Kingdom of Fjäderholmarna.

Though Międzymorze fully recognizes that all the nations of the world should be concerned over the health and general well-being of their subjects and citizens, we also strongly urge the various media organizations of Europe to refrain from fear-mongering based on accounts of an outbreak of a rather common seasonal virus in a geographically restricted area of the Kingdom.

Furthermore, the Royal Council Ministry of Health and Welfare shall point out that more than enough units of the H3N2 vaccine are available for national consumption. In the case of the outbreak in the Islamist Gudanzka community in Misłika, it is simply a matter of a relatively small group of people being totally unwilling to comply with the legal strictures that provide for the distribution of any vaccine of similar importance, due in large part to black market profiteering undertaken by civilian- and largely Muslim- doctors in recent memory.

Until the Islamists of Misłika, and indeed all of Międzymorze, recognize the need to adapt to the legally mandated system of vital medicinal distribution within the Kingdom, this situation simply will not resolve itself, despite the well-intentioned actions of such bodies as the Empire of Yaman.

Anti-Kyivan Student Protests in Balanjar Turn Violent

Khagan Threatens to Remove Funding from Balanjar Yeshiva Gedola Should Rabbis Prove Unresponsive to Calls for Calm

Balanjar- In the wake of recent Kyivan crackdowns in the so-called "Khazar Autonomous Republic" of the Allied States, a number of student groups based at the Yeshiva Gedola of Balanjar, have organized a succession of increasingly larger and more raucous demonstrations against the Kingdom's eastern neighbor, and historical rival, says an official of the Starosta of the ancient, and rapidly transforming city.

The demonstrations clogged streets in Balanjar for most of yesterday chanting such slogans as "Hang First Marshal Haman" and burning effigies of the Kyivan First Marshal, Vasyl Tarassenko, and bringing business in some districts of the vibrant and booming city to a virtual standstill. Though permits for "student gatherings" outside of the Yeshiva Gedola had been lodged and granted previously, the actions that took place were far outside of the legally proscribed scope, and as such, the Balanjar Police were forced to disperse the crowds, resulting in a number of violent confrontations between students and riot-geared police. At last count, three students had been seriously injured, with one possible fatality, and one policeman received minor injuries after being bludgeoned by a number of "demonstrators."

The "core group" responsible the organization of these demonstrations, the Second Khazar Haganah (thus named after the now legendary Khazar militia that played such a pivotal role in securing "western" Khazaria during the Great War), has been cited by both the governments of the Allied States of Kyiv, and the Kingdom of Międzymorze as an unnecessarily provocative organization that has done little "save further aggravating an always tense situation concerning the (divided) nature of the historical Khazar homeland."

The Second Khazar Haganah has often been compared to the more radical iterations of previous Pan-Turanic, and Pan-Slavic movements that have cropped up in Pontic politics in the past century, and many high-ranking officials both within the Khagan's government, and within the Royal Council Ministries warn that it may one day lead to irreversible complications in the tenuous relations between the Allied States and the Kingdom.

The current chairman of the organization, Hazer Tzul, is a Khazar State Militia veteran, and former post-graduate student at the Itił "Grand" Yeshiva Gedola, and has been previously jailed for encouraging minor dissent, and has been taken into police custody again for his involvement in this most recent round of disturbances. More than a dozen other arrests have been reported in connection with the violence, but no further names have been released as of post-date.

In direct response to these actions by students of a Yeshiva Gedola that he personally funds, the Khazar Khagan Solomon VIII Bulan has threatened to pull the financial plug on the institution unless the Rabbinical Council "doesn't reign in these ignorant and all too dangerous political extremists."

Citing the numerous border disputes and near-conflicts that the Kingdom and the Allied States have experienced in the half-century since the end of the Great War as reason enough for general calm in relation to the status of Jewish Khazars in the Allied States, Khagan Solomon likewise stated that he would not allow national security to be threatened for "...so pitiful a reason as a few poorly informed and headstrong youths marching in the streets. Unless this situation is brought entirely under control now, there is no way to know where it could lead in the near future. Though I personally sympathize with the plight of our brothers and sisters in the Allied States, I likewise recognize the internationally accepted boundaries between our two nations, and likewise must recognize the rights of the Allied States to maintain order within their nation according to their own laws. I do however pray that the First Marshal and Kyivan Military Leadership takes into account the obvious desire of the 'Autonomous Republic' for a greater level of autonomy within the Kyivan-led Allied States. Despite this, I cannot and will not advocate violent means to see such an outcome realized."

Sekretarz Wielki (Grand Secretary) Władysław Bielewisz, current chief of the Royal Privy Council has stated that both he, and the King support the stance taken by the Khagan on this matter, and that such needlessly provocative gestures will not be tolerated elsewhere in the Kingdom.

Fear mongering over the minor outbreak of the "Slavic Flu" amongst the Islamic Community in Misłika reaches astounding heights, despite the clearly stated facts that only those people (entirely Muslim in nature) unwilling to accept the government administered vaccines are dying in any numbers. Nevertheless, many nations around the world have placed unfair and needlessly harsh travel restrictions on all subjects of the Kingdom, calling for the Royal Council Ministries to reassess a number of regional and global policy standards.

Kingdom of Belmont finds itself at the center of a growing outcry over recent "anti-Communist" statements, shows signs of indecision at the highest levels of government as a result of trying to please the nations of the world.

Outlaw Republic of Carentania expresses interest in the extraction of oil from oil-sand deposits like those found in the northeastern expanses of the Kingdom, though obviously lacks the necessary means (technology, equipment) to utilize this valuable natural resource for themselves.

This is the second time in two years that a relatively large scale flair up has occurred in this remote region, leading some leading LFS minds to question if a concerted effort is being put forth by a number of dissident factions in the region to destabilize the general political equilibrium of the East.

Breaking News: Deadly Explosion and Inferno at BenzynaKról Plant Outside of Balanjar

Quick-Response Disaster Teams Engaged in Struggle to Contain Blaze

Balanjar- At roughly 8:40 this evening, the BenzynaKról crude bitumen (also known as oil, or tar sand) refinery- completed this past August- and located twenty-three miles northwest of Balanjar was almost completed obliterated by a catastrophic explosion, and the resultant blaze. Witnesses have reported that the shockwave from the initial blast shattered windows as far away as the suburbs of Balanjar, and the towering column of fire and noxious smoke was, and remains clearly visible on the horizon, even from street level in the recently restless city.

Quick-Response Disaster Teams from Balanjar, Radolisz, Lendskow and Itił were immediately dispatched to the site, along with units from nearly every Fire Department within the Bóbr River Valley, and are currently involved in a truly epic battle to contain the "towering inferno." The few journalists on the ground at the site have speculated that this horrific event might well prove to be the worst industrial disaster in Międzymorze's recent history, and perhaps even the most destructive single incident since the end of the Civil War.

The Royal Council Ministry for Crisis Response has asked that all subjects of the Crown keep the valiant men and women fighting this blaze, or employed at the plant in their prayers this evening, and likewise promises to make every effort to keep the families of those effected as informed as is possible.
As of the time of this report, no immediate cause for this disaster has been postulated by any Government Office, Agency, or Ministry, and no estimates on the extent of casualties or total damages can be ventured at this still quite early point, though both totals will be inescapably high.

Królewska Rada Ministerstwa Wewnętrznej Bezpiecznoścy (Royal Council Ministry for Domestic Security) spokesman Sekretarz Ibraham Shakhanowsky revealed earlier today that the Government believes the catastrophic fire that destroyed the BenzynaKról plant outside of Balanjar was the result of foreign industrial espionage and terrorism. Though the nation responsible for this heinous act has not been identified, His Majesty's Government has promised to bring all those responsible to justice, and to see that such a disaster can never be repeated.

Some two hundred and forty-six lives were lost to this disaster, along with another six hundred and eighty-four were badly injured, with a large number of that number coming directly from the Disaster Response Personnel and regional fire-fighters that responded to the blaze.

The Królewska Rada Ministerstwa Wewnętrznej Bezpiecznoścy believes that it has positively identified one of the saboteurs responsible for this action, and has distributed his likeness throughout the Kingdom, and our neighbor-ally, Serbovia, in hopes that any leads from vigilant citizens might lead to a quick resolution of this case.

On a more humane note, the Crown and the Office of the Cardinal-Prince of Hrodino have organized a relief effort for the families affected by this tragedy, and is accepting donations directly, or through the Dominican (Sarmatian) Catholic Church. Parties interested in contributing to this effort are encouraged to contact their Parish Priest for details.

The physicians were working out of a local madrassa, inoculating Muslim students there, when they were swept up and removed to a heretofore unknown location- despite the best efforts of a number of students and teachers to protect them, and were apparently gang-raped and badly beaten, before being dumped on a street corner near the compound where they had been residing while in the city.

All five doctors, the identities of whom have been withheld due to security considerations and respect to their families, were "molested by a group of gangster thugs for no other reason than that they were women, and were aiding in the 'imperialistic policies' of the Sarmatian Tyrants."

All the men involved in the attack have been apprehended and executed, according to a representative of the Towarzysze Husarscy commander of the Starosta of Misłika, and addittional thirty-eight arrest, and seventeen other executions have been carried out in response to this act of terror.

Both the Starosta, and the Office of His Most Catholic Majesty, Król Kazimierz V Krzyżewski-Matejko, Wielki Książę of Upper Sarmatia, Książę of Hrodino and Krzyżewski have offered their most sincere apologies to the Empire of Yaman, and the families of the accosted physicians in regards to this truly incomprehensible act, and have offered to pay restitutions to both the government of Yaman, and to the families. Likewise, the Crown has also hinted at "cracking down" further on the elements of society that committed this act, with a plan of action supposedly forthcoming.

The Crown's Government, in association with Provincial and local governments has already begun to plan this year's Christmas-Memorial Day Celebrations, which are expected to surpass previous years in size and expense. Not only recalling and celebrating the eve of the birth of our Personal Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, December 24th also serves as the most important national holiday for the Kingdom of Międzymorze, marking the final capitulation of the illegal United Gudanzka Emirates, which brought a final end to the brutal fourteen years of Civil War that threatened to end the East's largest and most ancient Christian Kingdom.

Of particular importance will be the celebrations in Hrodino, where the His Most Catholic Majesty is planning to not only personally pay for a "true feast for every family residing within these hallowed environs," but also to pay for a full tank of petrol for every registered vehicle belonging to the valued citizen-subjects of the city.

Similar measures are rumored to be in the works in Itił, under the auspices of Khagan Solomon VIII Bulan.

Public reaction to these proposals has been overwhelmingly positive, and many hope that it will mark the turning a new, and happier page in the recent affairs of the Kingdom. Massive parades and fireworks displays are planned for every major metropolitan area in the Kingdom, albeit with heightened levels of security, in response to recent levels of mild unrest throughout Międzymorze.

His Most Catholic Majesty has received emissaries of the Commonwealth of Coronado, a nation on the far-western continent that has recently ended a period of nearly fifty years of total isolationism. Representatives from the Serbovian embassy in Hrodino were also present for the reception, and will be taking place in the upcoming talks alongside the Crown's Royal Council Ministers. The Commonwealth appears to be a nation with a number of values common to those of the people of Międzymorze, and there seem to be high hopes that a long-lasting and mutually beneficial relationship between our three nations will be the end result of this diplomatic talks.

In Životnije, the Kingdom's former southwestern province, and often combative- if profitable- neighbor, a new and "dynamic" figure has stepped forward to stand in the face of the global resurgence of Communism, in the person of Representative Usted Pavelić. Best described as a fiery demagogue invigorated with a true loathing for that most despicable of pseudo-political philosophies, Pavelić is likewise noted for his expressly stated desire to alter the political landscape of the Union, which many political thinkers in Międzymorze view as more dangerous than it might be worth, given the precarious nature of regional politics in general- especially when taking into account the recent and still rather ambiguously defined regime change in Kryobaijan.

No official from the Royal Council Ministry of Foreign Affairs was available to make a comment on the government's opinion on the shake-up that Pavelić is creating within the Assertionists, but a number of szlachta along the Živ have stated some concern that "this sort of fire-brand plebian rhetoric might prove to be more trouble than it's worth, despite the obvious benefit of gaining a new ally in the struggle against international Communism." Only time will tell whether or not this new power-player will in fact be able to deliver on his lofty promises, and prove a truly indispensable ally in the War to Preserve Civilization.

Republic of Coruña announces its intention to seek membership in Alliance for a Greater Europe, seen as a rather hasty action by all LFS member-states and a number of non-aligned neutral states.

Vangalan aggression in response to recent, and entirely legal actions taken by the Ratomkiran military in the pacification of border areas threatens to destabilize the southeastern region of Europe. The Kingdom, like all LFS member-states remains committed to ensuring the continued sovereignty of Ratomkira, and its right to police its peoples in what manner it feels is most adequate given the circumstances.

The recent Social Democratic Party victory in Hosagovinia seen as a minor defeat for traditional morality, also seen as the most recent development in a long and far-reaching trend towards liberal complacency, and plebian ignorance throughout Europe.

The Parliament of the Commonwealth of Coronado has nominated an executive officer from the higher board of the Bureau of Defense, Ignacio Ràmond Azmar as the candidate for the office of High Chairman. This news has been met with largely positive response in the Kingdom, and most expect that the wise and just rule that has steered Coronado into the modern era will continue under Azmar.

Truly, words cannot begin to describe the horror and shock that grips the Empire of the Tribes of Yaman, and I, their representative, find myself nearly speechless, for what can be said in response to such a brutal, senseless act against generosity we in Yaman, and indeed, the entire Confederation, rarely extend to foreigners? What can be said that would be appropriate?

While I, on behalf of the Empire of Yaman and the families of those senselessly savaged by these barbaric creatures who have been given what they deserve, accept the apologies and the offer of restitutions for our government and the families by His Most Catholic Majesty, I feel that we in Yaman must do more to avenge this act.

I hereby declare it the intention of Yaman to suspend further activity of our doctors in Miedzymorze at this time, in the interests of their personal safety, until the environment has been declared secure by the appropriate authorities.

His Excellency the Supreme Leader Vladimir Rodzianko and the Serbovian people as a whole condemn the apparent terrorist attack in Balanjar, as well as the brutal murder of Yamani aid workers by Mohammedan bandits and saboteurs.

The fact that these doctors and aid workers were in Miedzymorze on purely humanitarian and benevolent grounds highligyhts the devious and condemnable nature of the attack, and it is the sincere wish of the Supreme Leader to see these individuals responsible tried to the fullest extent of the Miedzymorzean law.

In addition, in recognition of the importance of catching the bandits and saboteurs responsible for the Balanjar Incident, the Supreme Leader offers the MDB's full cooperation to the Miedzymorzean authorities.

Proposed IRB War-Games Cause For Serious Concern, Highlights Communist "Irresponsibility" on the International Stage

Hrodino- Addressing both Houses of the Sejm earlier today, Sekretarz Wielki Bielewisz warned that the Batavian-led IRB disregard for the "general regional stability" of Southeastern Europe- and Europe as a whole- is once again reaching recklessly dangerous levels.

By resolving to move forward with "military exercises" in Vangala, perhaps Europe's most precariously balanced "proletarian dictatorship," and on the doorstep of two LFS member states, the mighty Oikawan Empire, and the Kingdom of Ratomkira, the IRB has once more proven that the concerns of the general community of nations have, and will always fall on "deaf ears."

With border clashes and localized aggression at an all-time high in Ratomkira, and Vangala almost certainly behind these actions, Sekretarz Wielki Bielewisz concluded that "these most recent moves by the Godless peasants can only be construed as an act of outright aggression- an unveiled statement of intent to commit themselves to all out war against a sovereign member-state of that most august body, of which we have been a member in good standing for more than a half-century, the LFS."

With perhaps the most fiery and blatant wording from the mouth of any Royal Minister for more than a decade, Sekretarz Wielki Bielewisz continued on by saying that:

"To ignore this situation and remain silent now would constitute not only an act of inexcusable cowardice on the part of this regime, but would also dishonor the sacrifices of our forefathers, who died in the millions to extinguish exactly this sort of infantile groping, passing for foreign policy. The IRB has grown increasingly bold in its maneuvers, perhaps speaking of its imminent collapse more than anything- but as the entire world has known for more than a century, the first ploy that any and all 'Communist' regimes will use to prop up their tattered husk of a political body is the creation and expansion of international incidents, of just this sort. This cannot, and will not be allowed to occur here, now- nor ever again. The blood that the martyrs of the Great War shed still soils the vastness of the Pontic Steppe, and the jungles of the Far East and Southeast. Lest that crimson flood be renewed, we must stand fast- with mettle and steel."

Though reaction by other LFS states has been varied, the Sekretarz Wielki assured the Sejm that each government was united in its "adamantine stance on the desire to preserve the sovereignty of Ratomkira, and all free nations throughout Europe."

Touching upon the Batavian hints that the military exercises will not be limited in scope to Southeastern Europe, His Excellency made a few hints of his own, mainly pertaining to the continued elevated alert status of the Kingdom's military.

His Excellency did not however make any comment on accepting the IRB invitation to send a military attaché, and no questions were posed from the Sejm concerning this point. It is likely that a final, alliance-wide policy initiative will be adopted by the Kingdom, "upon further discussion and resource allocation between LFS member-states," which will likely be forthcoming within the next days.

The tense situation between the Živ Blue Union, and the Red Volgans continues to unfold to the South- despite the apparent stand-down of all Živ forces, threatening to completely shatter the already precarious balance of power in the region. Most interestingly, Marešal Pijan of Životinje has apparently committed suicide, after preparing for- and failing to undertake- what might well have been the first, and likely the most cunningly crafted "liberation" of the Twenty-First Century.

The leadership of the BUC now apparently rests with Civilnog Marešal Posavski, who has been supposed as the possible assassin of Pijan by some "yellow journalists" in Životinje, and seems to be more than up to the task- at least theoretically.

Likewise, the already oppressed Volgan nation has drifted one step further down the path of totalitarianism, with their completely amoral Premier, Petrov assuming dictatorial powers for the remainder of the "national crisis," which will no doubt continue for some decades, in the style of the Batavian Communards.

Książę Jozef Kościałkowsky, the Kingdom's ambassador to the Council of Nations warns that the upcoming elections for General Secretary, Vice Secretary, and the Security Council may well yield unpleasant results, at least from the perspective of the tradition and truth loving subjects and citizens of the member-states of the LFS. An increase in IRB interest in the Council has been decried as an obvious breach of the principles upon which the once worthy CoN was founded, and likewise and inexcusable slight to the millions of men and women that perished waging war against the Godless hordes of Communism in the first half of the Twentieth Century. Though no true course of action to prevent these potential gains was outlined by His Highness, it is expected that the Kingdom might well reevaluate its commitment to the Council should the results prove unfavorable.

When asked to comment on the situation developing in Augsburg, Sekretarz Wielki Bielewisz had this to say: "It has been clear to the Kingdom for some time that the old spirit of international cooperation has no hope of being revived, certainly never shorn up to the levels that we saw after our triumph in the Great War. It may well be time for the Kingdom- and the LFS to move on, to focus solely on alliance, and strictly bilateral relations when approaching the greater, global political scheme."

A number of Gudanzka militants have been arrested in connection to the kidnapping, rape and beatings of five female Yamani doctors working in the troubled city of Misłika, in the Grand Principality of Trzy Rzeki. Starosta Ignatius Wojewó of Misłika has indicated that these criminals might actually be extradited to the Empire of Yaman, in the Axifloan Confederacy, to stand trial for their actions by a jury of the peers of the people that they so violently attacked. The Starosta has said that "the local outcry for justice has been satisfied, and now it is a matter of seeing the process completed in Yaman, where complete strangers came to the aid of these barbarians."

The Association of Theological Students, the Kingdom's largest student "union" has expressed some interest in organizing a "forum" between Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, Jewish, and Islamic University students, in an effort to increase the place of "traditional family values," and decrease domestic tensions between the Kingdom's various religious groups. This "forum" would likely be held at the Royal University of Hrodino, though the current attitude of the Bielewisz "Administration" of the Royal Privy Council is less than friendly towards the Association, so it is likely that a slightly less high-profile location will have to be chosen, if in fact the "forum" is allowed to take place.

The Chairman of the Association, Krzysztof Nowakowsky, has previously been quoted as saying that he believes his organization is "the only chance that Międzymorze has at seeing a lasting peace between the disparate peoples that make up our teeming multitudes. Unless we create a new sense of cooperation and understanding between this younger generation, the same old biases and hatreds that have defined us for so long will continue to do so."

Sekretarz Wielki Bielewisz has refused to make further comments on the issue, and will likely allow his actions to speak for him.

Sarmatian and Rus' To Wage War Once More?

Hrodino- Over the course of the past several weeks, the level of tensions between the Kingdom, and its most bitter rival and neighbor, Kyiv have plummeted to depths not seen since the time of the Great War, more than a half a century ago. This dramatic worsening of relations are entirely the result of various Kyivan provocations, all unnecessary and unwarranted, ranging from the kidnapping and continued detention of Sarmatian civilians, to the detonation of multi-megaton nuclear weapons, to the most recent slaughter of unarmed, and apparently peaceful Khazar protestors in East-Itil. Many within the Kingdom- and surely, around the world fear that this deterioration has only one possible outcome: all-out war between the Kingdom, and its allies in the League of Free-States, and the illegal and despotic regime in Kyiv.

Royal Diplomats and policy makers have been working overtime since the initial seizure of a Sarmatian fishing vessel on the 17th of December, after a catastrophic engine failure caused said vessel to inadvertently drift into disputed waters, that have been de facto controlled by Kyiv since the sudden cessation of hostilities in the last year of the Great War. The names of the four fisherman that were illegally taken into custody, and the status of whom has yet to be concretely ascertained are being withheld out of respect for their families. A spokesman for the Royal Council Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that a number of attempts have been made to reach a resolution with the "Commandry" on this matter but that, as has been the case with nearly every other similar incident for more than a hundred years (well before the various Communist and Militarist-Authoritarian Revolutions of the Far-Eastern Slavic State), no suitable reply has been received.

Likewise, His Majesty's government has been at a complete and total loss for words in the wake of multiple detonations of a new, and infinitely more destructive weapon of mass destruction, the "Sun Star" series of nuclear warheads. Though the Rus' have always maintained one of the world's largest nuclear arsenals, the Kingdom- and by extension, the LFS have had relatively little to fear from Kyiv's constantly corroding ability to project power beyond its own borders. In the past, the Rus' arsenal seemed to be primarily focused on area-denial, in the case of massive LFS invasions, but now the situation has most obviously changed. Coupled with the recent Meribian detonation of nuclear warheads, on New Year's Day, it would appear that not only the Kingdom of Międzymorze, but Europe as a whole is awakening to find itself in an impossibly dangerous- and possibly apocalyptic scenario, where weapons that were once thought too terrible to enter into active use by the world's modern militaries are once again on the table.

Most recently, in the city of East-Itil, a city founded by Khazar nationals, loyal to His Majesty, Khagan Solomon VIII Bulan hundreds of peaceful student protestors were massacred by Commandry Airborne Assault Force butchers, after organizing a "self-determination" rally. Though the Rus' claim that this was in fact an armed insurrection, orchestrated by elements of the Khazar establishment in Międzymorze, no indisputable, or undistorted evidence in support of this claim has been made available to the world, and the Kingdom will continue to maintain its position that this was nothing more than the murder of hundreds of young men and women who only wish to have the chance to live in the country of their choosing.

In response to this avalanche of provocations, which approach but fall just short of an open declaration of war by the Commandry, the Kingdom has placed the entirety of the Royal Armed Forces at the highest level of alert, and all off-duty, reserve, local militia, and law enforcement personnel have been called to active duty, in anticipation of the next logical step for the Rus' Tyrants, escalation to all-out war with Międzymorze. Mobilization levels have been high since the terrorist attack on the BenzynaKról facility outside of Balanjar (which Sekretarz Wielki (Grand Secretary) Władysław Bielewisz of the Royal Privy Council recently stated might have been a part of a greater covert operation on the part of Kyiv), in an attempt to safeguard against further attacks, but had not been extended to include the household guards of the Kingdom's wealthiest and most powerful szlachta, but with this most recent change in alert-status, all such "private" military personnel have been ordered to report to their local Royal Army command for incorporation in the regular structure of the armed forces.

His Most Catholic and Royal Majesty, Król Kazimierz V Krzyżewski-Matejko, Wielki Książę of Upper Sarmatia, Książę of Hrodino and Krzyżewski has issued a personal appeal to all Międzymorzans to maintain calm, but to prepare as if war is a definite possibility. Likewise, His Majesty has issued a decree forbidding all businesses from engaging in price gouging in anticipation of the inevitable rush to stockpile supplies in the event of tighter war-time rationing and shortages.

Included in His Majesty's series of recent decrees and appeals was perhaps the most telling of all statements: "Though our Kingdom is by virtue of its Dominican Catholic Christian Faith, a state based upon the principals of peace and mutually sustained order, it has become increasingly clear that the world is now entering an epoch, entirely new and terrible- that is strangely dangerous and violent in ways that could barely be imagined just a few short months ago. Our policy in recent years has been one of non-intervention, and in that time this policy has served us well...but now, we- the Sarmatian and Khazar peoples, the most ancient and storied folk of the East find ourselves on the precipice. We shall either have to take our destiny in hand, or allow it to be decided for us, by tyrants and demagogues half the world away. I swear by all that I hold holy that this shall not come to pass, and that within a month's time, it shall be clear to all of Europe that the Kingdom of Międzymorze has once more seized control of its future."
