DULWICH, FRIDAY, 27th MAY 2011
_____________________________________________

The Right Honourable The Secretary of State has received the Command of Her Engellexic Majesty The Queen to make known the following gracious Statement of Her Engellexic Majesty to the Sovereign, their Lordships and the People of the Kingdom of Lorraine.

Extension of The Queen's Statement in Council.

TO THE SOVEREIGN, THEIR LORDSHIPS, AND PEOPLE OF THE KINGDOM OF LORRAINE

I am instructed to express on behalf of Her Engellexic Majesty;

That the sentiments of the autocratic Kingdom of Lorraine cannot be lent the support of the Queen or the Queen’s ministers on the assessment given that concludes an a lesser degree of democracy within Great Engellex and her overseas realms in comparison to autocratic dominions of Anglyn and Lorraine. With suspicious regard to the studies conducted on the varying composition of democratic institutions and practices within her Engellexic Majesty’s overseas realms, the Queen’s ministers remain very happy with the democratic prescription of the various governments of the Lord Commissioners throughout the realms, which is in due to the Representation and Taxation Act of 1951, and which bound the Lord Commissioners to not dare suppress nationalist movements and organisations, of a political and peaceful character, in any way.

It shall dared be said that should a proper research be conducted throughout the territorial realms of the Implaric Oceanic Territory, the study could hardly look for a more autonomous and endeavouring assembly of local representatives than the Wightland Island Council, which achieved independence of discipline and practice from the Parliament of Dulwich in 1902, and continues unhindered to determine their domestic course - that, presently, does not exclude propositions to manoeuvre the territory away from economic alignment with Great Engellex.

It should be admitted that Great Engellex could, if it was decided, tread these territories under a heel of iron.

But is it wished to do so? If the governance of the Union of Great Engellex were despotic or oligarchic, it would be reasonable to understand a will to seek that position, but Great Engellex is a democracy - and a modern democracy is fitted neither with the methods nor by sentiments for a government of those two sorts, a sort which is characteristic of the establishment of the Kingdom of Lorraine. Our democracy may have a short memory, and although in moments of exasperation it might be passed, in Great Engellex, severe laws, they will soon be repealed. Our democracy prides itself on equality, and will not bear to feel that it has repressed the female classes in the interests of the landed gentry. Women’s suffrage will be realised in her Majesty’s time.

A democracy has a tender conscience, and should be pained by any sense that it was doing injustice. Is it justice that a head of state should command the government and political will of the country without a mandate to do so? It is not the Union of Great Engellex that speaks of hypocrisy, but the realm of Lorraine.

It should be considered a grave injustice to deny Great Engellex as a functioning democracy, as the actions of her Engellexic Majesty, the Queen’s ministers, and the members of Parliament, are evidently bound by democratic principles. In illustration of this point, I adduce the case of the Wightland Islands territory :- Mr. G. Luckes-Brown was formally invited on the 16th of May 2011 to represent the Province of Gisbourne within the Commons Assembly in Dulwich, by acknowledgement of the mandate given by the people of Gisbourne. The example of the Wightland Islands was the strongest possible instance recently which should be acknowledged to confirm the democratic practices of the Union of Great Engellex.

It is sincerely hoped that the autocratic Courts of the European Defence Federation will not persist in their assault against the democracy of Great Engellex.

By the Grace of GOD, of the UNION of GREAT ENGELLEX, CHARLOTTE, the QUEEN, through the Right Honourable the SECRETARY of STATE, ANTHONY PELHAM-HOLLES

>NICOSIA DECLARES SECURITY ZONE IN RESPONSE TO NET CUTTING INCIDENTS
Though no injuries have been reported, a dozen instances of Solaren gunboats cutting Nicosian fishing net have been reported, forcing the Nicosian government to declare a security zone around the island aimed at preventing future incidents. With no explaination coming from Torrance concerning the matter and concidering the number of incidents in such a short period of time, the talk in Metz is that it is just another attempt by Urban to see how far he can push things before he gets pushed back.

>ADDITIONAL ARMY UNITS MOVED TO SOUTHERN BORDER
With trouble brewing in the Long Sea and suspicious occurances being reported on the border, the army has order additional men and equipment to Lorraine's border with Solaren.

>CANTIGNY POLITICAL MOVEMENT MAY BE CONNECTED TO ATTACK ON TANGALOA SOLDIERS
The attack on three Anglysh soldiers in Tangaloa may have connections to the Cantigny political movement called the Patriot & Friend for all Oceania as the attackers were reported shouting out slogans of the organization when fleeing the scene.

>WAR<

Earlier today, Lorrainian and Coaltion ground forces in Southern Lorraine, came under attack from artillery based across the border in Solaren. "Using non-conventional munitions, Solaren artillery engaged targets inside Lorraine", said a Palace spokesman. "In response to this attack, His Most Catholic Majesty, King Charles V, has signed a royal decree declaring that a state of war now exists between the Kingdom of Lorraine and the theocratic Kingdom of Solaren."

Though there has been no casualty reports nor was it revealed what type of 'non-conventional' munitions were used, AP reported chemical weapons being used on both military and civilian targets, the government in Metz has yet confirm nor deny that report except to say that, "you can rest assured that the Solaren attack will be responded to in kind!"

Statement From The Papal Office of The Sacred Kingdom of Solaren

Lorraine has become a depraved den of the damned, hosting the unholy armies of the European Defence Federation as they seek to impose the tyranny of the Tiburan anti-Pope. The head of the snake has been severed, soon so shall the body feel the swords of the Solaris armies as they embark on a new crusade to defend Christendom from the most heinous heresies.

ESTATES-GENERAL RATIFIES ROYAL DECREE

Though technically Lorraine has been at war with Solaren as soon as the first Urbanite shell exploded on Lorrainian soil, that coupled with the Royal Decree announcing that a state of war did exist, few in Lorraine would have thought otherwise, but officially, it would not be until the Estates-General ratified the King's deree could Lorraine constitutionally be at war with Solaren. This was done in an emergency session of the full legislative body, and with only two votes against, and one abstaining and two absent, the declaration of war was ratified giving the King full and absolute wartime powers over both military, foreign and civilian affairs.
