The Cassiopeaian response is a source of great humour in Vlaanderen. Clearly they have never confronted or read up about the Staatsveiligheid and our world class domestic intelligence service.

Lastly, and most evident, it is quite obvious to all that Cassiopeia is but a lap dog of the murderous regime in Krepost Ross.

The misery, abject poverty, current (and historical) failure as a state, and all-around bleak future of all Batavians is a source of great humor in Cassiopeia. Best regards,

Yes, so many Cassiopeian officials have visited Batavië to know it is a failed state with miserable people. Oh, our mistake, no official from that joke of a government has ever set foot in our country. They must have telepathic powers.

Indeed, no Cassiopeian official- or Miedzymorzan before that- has ever had the misfortune of finding their way to Batavië. We have slums of our own, why should we want to visit a nation composed of nothing but?

Blue Životinje remains entirely indifferent to this crisis, by reminding the Tsardom of Shcherbatskaya that our relationship remains untarnished considering we ourselves have been known to act brashly from time to time with conflict resolution.

Regarding Kasjopeja and Batavië: flaunting ones riches has not been a virtuous nor humble act long before the time of Christ himself. We would have thought that Batavië was fed up with fighting, or Kasjopeja has given up these sort of squabbles with the fall of Miedzymorze.

Batavië is a secular and religion-free country. Our people could care less about a cult leader with an incredibly large ego.

As our southwestern cousins are well aware, humility is not a vice that Sarmatians are known for, and likely we never will- especially in regards to deluded and outright decaying communard totalitarians of the sort found in Batavië. Whatever the case, we take your meaning to heart, and wish to merely point the obvious successes of our national system in comparison to the utter failures of the manifold systems implemented in Batavië over the past century- all of them having resulted in nothing short of, as I have previously said: the abject poverty of the Batavian people, and their continued misery. Obvious superiority is not arrogance, in and of itself. Still, your point is well taken, though I might also take this opportunity to remind the Blue Union- and the world- that Cassiopeia, unlike our monarchist predecessor, is as secular a nation as any that currently claims to be so- though we, unlike the Batavians feel no need to criticize a faith that means so much to untold billions of people around the world.

You have, however, reiterated an excellent point in all of this: the Tsardom forces has done nothing wrong, despite what the weak-stomached, "politically correct" nations of the world might want others to think.

EDF VOTES AT COUNCIL OF NATIONS CAUSE WORRY IN SHCHERBATSKAJA
ŠAIENA — The latest results at the Council of Nations has senior diplomats at the Council of Nations worried. With the European Defense Federation voting in unison; a new level of politics have erupted in Europe, strict alliance voting. The new voting record has Shcherbatskaja pondering withdrawing from the Council of Nations because party politics is not what Shcherbatskajans expected from the Council of Nations since its founding after the Great War.
"What is concerning about this is that with the introduction of alliance bloc voting, the Council of Nations is now no longer about nation states gathering to discuss disputes, but rather party politics. The largest parties will dominate and then talks around about what is best for your own nation or your individual citizens will no longer exist, but what is best for your ideology, your military alliance or your coalition status. Then votes aren't based upon the concerns of nations, but the smallest nations who can team up to gang up upon those with real power." stated Press Secretary for the Tsarina Karlis Svianievičs.
This has led to many thinking that the Tsarina may decide to leave the Council of Nations as miniature insignificant nations now plan to team up with the EDF to push around major powers. Another worry of course being that other major powers such as Oikawa may find this as an excuse to finally bring about the recognition of the many Republics that have been disallowed access to the halls of the Council of Nations. Inner circles suggest the Tsarina might approve such an expansion of the membership with the troublesome EDF voting trend.

Yet despite what rampant suggestions and rumors that fly around the castle in Šaiena might say, the overwhelming urge is that Shcherbatskaja just leave the Council of Nations. The body never solved the Batavië crisis and condemned Shcherbatskajan efforts for trying. Furthermore it forced relations to sour between Shcherbatskaja and Batavië when Shcherbatskaja tried to work with in the boundaries of the resolutions in effect (relations have warmed since).

The final straw might be EDF's voting tactics, and their member's inability to act for their own citizens. The Tsarina found it to be a departure from the democratic ideals of the EDF's member states.
"Perhaps the only positive thing about the EDF's vote is the fact it further shows that democracy is dead in Europe's future when those who claim to uphold it cannot even vote in the interests of their own people, but the interests of the ruling elite's alliance building" she released in a statement purposely leaked to the press.
Shcherbatskaja's departure while highly possible, might not happen when military leaders stated that they are to be on ready alert. The votes obtained by the Empire of Wiese have removed it from neutrality politically, and naturally their weapons sales have moved them firmly into the EDF bloc in a de facto fashion. Shcherbatskaja has begun troop movements to the Wieser border leading many to believe that the Tsarina may demand that the Council of Nations be removed from Wiese and placed into a more neutral location. Something that may be forced should Shcherbatskaja attack Wiese.

This crisis has at the very least suggested that the EDF is playing with fire by alienating their neighbors and forcing their selfish attempts of power that is undeserved both in economic and militaristic categories.

Office of the Royal Chancellor to His Most Serene Majesty

We share some of the concerns of our western allies. The EDF bloc has indeed proved itself a force to be reckoned with in these elections of the Security Council members in the Council of Nations, and considering their recently shown hostility to Oltremare, we must stop to wonder; what will happen now to our nation, to our economy, to our sovereignty? With a Security Council possessing a Catholic majority now a very real possibility, and the debate of punishment towards Oltremare still looming over our heads, it is perhaps prudent for Oltremare to, like our neighbors, reconsider our participation with hostile Catholic nations out for our money, our land, our blood, our faith, whatever they can get their hands on.

Sincerely,
Giuseppe Emmanuel

The Third Republic must disagree with the column in the Telegraph. Nations have the right to vote in a manner that most benefits them. It is not a strike against democracy that nations vote the way they do; it is an affirmation of it. Democracy is rule of the majority with respect to the rights of the minority. The possibility of loosing an election for one side does not entitle those to suggest that there is an absence of the democratic process.

In respect to the Serine Kingdom; it is not the desire of the EDF, or catholic nations, to strip Oltremare of her identity. If the rule of law is to continue in Europe, then the abandoning international commitments as soon as it might be an inconvenience or not to the liking of a nation is not possible. And a reminder to both Serine Kingdom and the Tsardom: the Council of Nation's power is not confided to members—rouge* nations are also under its jurisdiction.

The Tsardom of Shcherbatskaya would would entirely disagree. Any democracy is based upon one simple notion, to the majority go the spoils. Not the protection of any minorities.

The Third Republic of Radilo now suggests the Tsardom of being a "poor sport" for lack of better words due to our losses. I may remind the Third Republic that our acquisitions have occurred before the end of elections and before any of our candidates have lost or will lose. In fact it has become quite clear that many of the candidates that we have endorsed may win. Yet our acquisition stems from the basics of how this election was conducted. The European Defense Federation decided to vote en masse as a bloc. This means that all nations in the European Defense Federation have put aside any differences they may have and decided to vote in favor of this bloc of nations regardless of what effect it may have on their nation.

For example, this does not represent the people of Radilo as the EDF is not Radilo. EDF is composed of a variety of nations from across the globe and as a result the needs of Radilo are not the same as the needs of Franken. EDF nations have cast aside such differences in favor of voting as a bloc in attempt to dominate the Council of Nations. This is evident to the world and we object to this. While the nations of the EDF may not see it this way, they have acted in a manner that is not in the spirit of the Council of Nations and that very spirit is the gathering of nations to settle disputes, not the expansion of war to the realm of international politics, the very action the EDF is guilty of.

Has no government considered that, because EDF members are complimentary towards one another, that they voted in that manner simply because they all happened to agree with each other? Perhaps it was a whip vote, but perhaps it wasn't.

The Tsardom of Shcherbatskaya finds the Batavian notion as absurd and additionally finds their EDF support as troublesome.

We have no further comment on the matter as the responsibility as been transferred to our Permanent Mission at the Council of Nations and the current ongoing debate there.

16 YEAR OLD GIRL JELENA GULBIS TO CIRCUMNAVIGATE THE GLOBE
SANTA ELEONORA — She turned sixteen years old yesterday and today she set sail on board her small sail boat named Gattino (Kitten). A strange story for a rich teenage girl in Vittoria who normally would be enjoying television and shopping sprees. Instead she will vie for the title of the youngest person to ever circumnavigate the world.

After months of anticipation, 16-year-old Jeļena Gulbis set sail today from Liepāja determined to become the youngest circumnavigator in the world. She departed amongst an entourage of boats full of press people and well-wishers, all waving goodbye for what could be the last time in six months or more.

Jeļena is of course a member of the famed Gulbis family, the wealthiest family in Vittoria which seems to have a hand in nearly everything in the Tsardom. She herself, is putting her dreams into sailing, which she has loved since she was 9-years-old going to the beach everyday watching the boats sail in and out of Santa Eleonora.

Jeļena plans to sail east around the world, unassisted and nonstop. She has suggested sailing close to some coasts in order to see parts of the world though. Despite such a notion, she will spend much of her trip in the extreme Southern Seas where summer is fading quickly and then the cold Northern Seas where summer will be fading quickly yet again. Equipped with five water-tight bulkheads, an escape hatch, a pistol and a self-righting system, Jeļena is confident that Gattino, her pink colored Open 40 sailboat, will be able to complete the journey. Along the way, she will be assisted only by the professional meteorologists at Tsarina's Weather Institute. Jeļena’s decision to sail and her family’s unwavering support has brought about its fair share of critics – meteorologists who feel an earlier start would have promised better weather, sailors who worry that a 16-year-old girl has not the mental nor the physical strength to endure what can be exceedingly demanding and terrifying seas, especially in the Southern Seas.

Still, it is a dream Jeļena says she’s had since she was 9, and a dream that will not soon fade away. As a result the Gulbis family had bought the best boat and supplies for Jeļena once she began to plan her trip three years ago. Even still they stress her education demanding she submit homework and tests via email to her teachers at school.

The Tsarina has given her blessings to the young Jeļena and wished her safe return to Vittoria in good time.

Jeļena will be blogging her travels daily at

While her sailing prowess will never reach these landlocked territories, Zivs everywhere from around the Union are inspired by the fearless and heroic Jeļena of Shcherbatskaja. Her experiences at sea shall challenge youth from all countries to pursue their dreams, and learn skills that are otherwise condemned by modern social media.

Ziv School Children have been encouraged to track Jeļena using a map of Europe, expanding the educational benefits to Životinje as well.

P.S. My prayers are with the entire Gulbis family, as there little girl seeks to accomplish what few grown men have.

CROWN PRINCE OF FRANKEN KNOWS A THING ABOUT MUD
MONTE CERVINO — The Crown Prince of Franken began to turn a rift into a fissure in the Franken news series, Eins zu Eins yesterday. Crown Prince Jakob of Franken opened his mouth on the Franconian news source openly proclaiming to know something about mud-throwing, and what he has proven to Vittorians is that he certainly knows how to throw it. He opened an intelligent and well thought out question with the implication that Vittoria threw mud at the EDF and Franken when Vittoria openly questioned the EDF's voting habits and suggested that action be taken.
"Alas, the Vittorians observe the motto ‘let’s throw some mud, some will stick’." - Crown Prince Jakob
While this proved to be unexpected as Franconians often observe the habit of turning the other cheek whenever something bad occurs, most recently witnessed in the Great War, the Francoian Crown Prince then decided to engage into another timeless tradition of his nation, contradicting itself.
"Vittoria’s attempt at gaining the general secretariat was frustrated. In a few words: Vittoria sees her political stock tumble and tries to stir up trouble. Having only recently lost a confli[sic] with Oikawa they deliberately scheme to provoke the next one." - Crown Prince Jakob
After claiming the Vittorians threw mud at his nation, the man had the audacity to throw some back. Not only in the sense of insulting the honor of the nation by proclaiming that it lost a non-existent conflict with honorable Oikawan Empire, but also by stating that Vittoria's political stance had tumbled. If anything proof of how self-centered the EDF world is. Yet this would be excusable if Vittorians were to take the high road and admit that mud was traded. However the Crown Prince's remarks cannot be excused after his sexist statement that was not only an insult to women but an insult to another royal house.
"How else could the matriarchic-autocratic government prevail against potential putschists at home?" - Crown Prince Jakob
The comments have put the Crown Prince from the speakers stump to a clear cut forest in the minds of Vittorians with the Tsarist Government demanding an apology for insulting a royal leader, and linking women (matriarchy) with autocratic tyranny.

The comments have only intensified what was considered a legitimate concern for the Tsardom to a full fledged diplomatic spat and rivalry as concerns from EDF nations might now have to be brokered via a different EDF nation unless some kind of apology is issued to the Tsarina herself.

MONTE CERVINO — War was declared between Wiese and Vittoria early in the morning on the 21st at roughly one in the morning. The cause given was not specific to the public although reporters in Wiese say that it is believed to be related to a month old diplomatic qualm that had yet to be solved.
