OOC: I know that without a doubt a number of the weapons I have claimed have been claimed by others. I don't care. I've seen people claim 3 to 4 types of the same type of land system of the same generation. I have however tried to make an effort to keep my claims reasonable, and not infringing on anyone person's claims in particular (i.e. claiming everything from Heckler & Koch when Wiese has done that as well).

Since the end of the Great War, the Levantine States has been one of the countries with the most advanced industry, capable of developing modern technology. A large high-tech sector, combined with a sizeable industry has meant that the Levant has been able to produce most of it's weapons indigineously mostly through a number of large arms conglomerates. The border between business and government can become quite blurry, and as such the Levantine government has to approve all weapons exports, which is done by the Commission of Weapons Exportation.

The CWE, a body composed of both top diplomats and important officials and technicians in the Levantine Armed Forces judge whether or not a weapons export is acceptable based on the technology involved, the government that is involved and the relations that the Levant holds with such a nation. In some cases the entire possibility of arms trade can be rejected, in other cases only a number of arms sales are permissible. The sale of blueprints or licenses for production is also run by the CWE. Nations (regardless of past or current administrations) who have in the past reverse-engineered Levantine designs are blacklisted. In certain cases, arrangements can be made for weapons currently in use with the Levantine military to be sold if the weapons are needed within weeks rather then months.

While unit prices are given, a final price on the entire order is calculated by the CWE, including a government tariff, transport costs and production costs, prices are decided upon at the judgement of the CWE and the manufacturer. Reduced prices are given to AGE nations, nations participating in the AGE Partnership for Peace Program, and loyal AGE/Levantine allies. Licenses and blueprints can be negotiated over, and prices for these are determined on a case-by-case basis.

Agostí Defense is a multinational aerospace manufacturer, global security and advanced technology company former in the late 80's and based in Tiflis, the Levantine States. One of the World's largest defense contractors, during the 60's and 70's it began receiving a majority of the Levantine government contracts. In later decades, it managed to buy up most competition, leading to it dominating the market.

The second main aerospace conglometerate, Pegasus has been mostly active in the cargo planes department, both private and military. Though it has mostly been outcompeted when it comes to fighters, it did develop the Odysseus during the 80's. It still has a role in modern days though, often being a secondary partner in airforce contracts, and having supported Agostí in developing the Icarus.

Fighters

You must be registered for see images

aF-34 Icarus
The pinnacle of Levantine fighter design, it was designed and created by a consortium of Levantine and other AGE companies. A stealth fighter, dedicated to air superiority was developed. Although reportedly rather hard to fly, it does have minimal RCS, is capable of supercruising and has a max speed of mach 2.2 and a range of over 4,500 km. By 2009, 150 fighters have been build at a unit cost of Lf. 140 million. Although originally more fighters were planned, budget cuts by the Levantine government means that the Levantine military will not be ordering any new fighters. Production is however still possible, but most likely this will be as a downgraded package, and only to countries in good standing with the Levant.

mF-21 Perseus
During the 70's, demand came for a new carrier-based multirole fighter, capable of attacking both aerial and ground targets. It was found in the mF-21 Perseus. The primary fighter for Levant's navy, it has shown to be a versatile and reliable fighter, though lacking in range and payload, though the upgrade the majority of the fighters went through during the late nineties and early noughties adressed these concerns. The Perseus has a maximum range of 2,300 km (clean plus two AIM-9s) it can reach up to Mach 1.8 and can also be used in refuelling missions, being able to carry up to 13,575 kgs of fuel.A Perseus including a full upgrade has a unit cost of 56 million.

mF-25 Odysseus
Developed during the 70's as the Levantine new Air Superiority Fighter, it has been started to be replaced in this role by the aF-34 Icarus. The costs of the full deployment of the Icarus means however that the Fulcrum is expected to remain in service for some time more. Upgrade packages introduced during the 90's, introducing much of the new technology learned during the development of the Icarus have modernized the Odysseus, many of them also focused on fitting the fighter for multirole operations. The Odysseus has a max speed of mach 2.25 and has a range of 700 km. The latest upgrade has a unit cost of 15 million.

cB-10 Ceres
The Ceres is a single-seat bomber designed for Close Air Support missions. During the 70's it replaced the CAS bombers developed in the aftermath of the Great War, and has remained in service since, though it has been supplanted in it's role by attack helicopters since. The Ceres is a rather slow plane, it's maximum speed being at 800 km/h and it has a range of 460 km. It has 11 hardpoints, and contains a 30mm gatling gun.The cB-10 has a unit cost of Lf. 12 million.

C-25 Berouth
The Berouth is one of the traditional workhorses of the Levantine Airforce, one of the few aircraft to have been in service for over 50 years. Capable of taking off from and landing on unprepared runways, the C-25 is capable of offering support to forward troops in remote areas. The versatile airframe has found uses in a variety of other roles, including as a gunship, for airborne assault, search and rescue, scientific research support, weather reconnaissance, aerial refuelling, maritime patrol and aerial firefighting. During the 90's a major upgrade package for the C-25 was developed (the C-25J), through which the range of the standard C-25 configuration became 5,520 km. It is capable of carrying over 120 passengers (or 90 airborne troops) and got a possible payload of 19,900. The latest update of the C-25 has a unit cost of Lf. 62 million, however for older versions deals can be made.

*- One of my few planes rather unlike the original, the Levant does not have a B-1 or B-2 like thing. Rather the LCS has further upgraded the B-52 and completely refurbished them, it has a smaller rcs, more advanced electronic countermeasures and lower maintainace costs when compared to the real B-52.

The purchase of 6 TH-7X Mallow Aircraft has been approved, including training programs and simulation systems, with further support and consultation being given by the Levantine Air Force. This will be done at a price of Lf. 400 million, prices will be slightly lower should the purchase of 7 TH-7X go through.

The Kingdom of Fjäderholmarna utilizing her place in the PfP program and looking to modernize certain aspects of her military seeks to import the use of Levantine weaponry. Thus far, we request from Segarra-Orihuela the M82 Sniper/anti-materiel Rifle, which will be branded the Ag90 in the Fjäderholmarnar Army. Additionally, via Escudé Rotorcraft we seek to obtain the CH-51 Magnolia, which will be commissioned as the HPK3. Numbers will be provided via attachment.
Thank you,

The arms purchase has been approved at a price of 98 million, including a discount for Fjäderholmarna's participation in the Partnership for Peace program, and an additional discount for the bulk purchase of the M82 Sniper/Anti material rifle.

We would like to procure a production license for the W4 rifle and two hundred Ta-19 Gótic artillery pieces. Regarding the W4 rifle license, since most armament companies forbid the distribution of license-produced weapons to civilians, we must warn that while the Federal Militia is a standing, regular force (despite its name, which may suggest otherwise), in times of war some of the rifles might be used by non-standing forces, such as the state militias, during wartime.

Secret Communique to the Frescanian Ministry of Defense

We are very glad to accept your order and incorporating a number of bulk and AGE discounts offer to deliver this for a price of Lf. 27 billion.* We would offer to have this order, especially on the naval side to involve joint ventures of Levantine and Frescanian arms companies, to allow for the creation of jobs in both of our countries.

* - is the spreadsheet in which I've worked out the numbers, I've scaled down a number of the unit prices slightly because of the size of the order which would politically be considered a major impulse for the Levantine arms industry. If you could double check on the math I used, it's been a while since I did these things in spreadsheets but had little other choice.

Communique to the American Ministry of Defense

We offer to grant a full and unlimited production license for the production of the W4 rifle at a cost of Lf. 800 million. Included in the deal will be technical support to set up the proper facilities and support to maintain the necessary machines to ensure quality rifles. The Levantine States would request that 3 percent of the total yearly production of the American W4 rifles after the first year are given to the Levant, or another AGE partner.

The total price for the two hundred Ta-19 Gótic is Lf. 180 million.

In regards to the licenses, for the nation of Freiheit there will be no licenses available to do so. Only in the case of Odysseus and Ceres, a stripped down version without a number of avionics systems and other technologies might be licensed. We hope that the government of Freheit understands the costs that come with these licenses. The W4 Rifle can be bought in sufficient quantities from Levantine producers.

There will be no aircraft carriers sold to Freiheit, we do not trust the credit rating of the government of Freiheit, and such technology is limited to close partners of the Levantine States.*

* - Could you imagine the US selling a Nimitz to Uruguay? That's what I thought.

We accept your offer, but suggest instead that the government of the American Union will simply build and operate an AGE-owned arms depot in another AGE nation to be used by other AGE nations in times of war, to be stocked with American-produced W4 rifles, ammunition and American military supplies.

We are offended that Levant feels this way. We will not be doing business with you.
