Impero Tiburano.

As capital of Tiburtina, Tibur had been propelled into a position of global importance, showing signals of sudden industrialization.
The Emperor was standing in a black cloak, waiting for the Doge of Vittoria in front of the Great Gate of of Tibur with his youngest son, Filipe holding the Tiburan Imperial Standard, a white ship's wheel.

"Welcome to Tiburtina, Serenissimo Doge!" Emperor welcomed the Vittorian Doge in the largest conference hall that the Imperial Palace of Tibur could offer, the Great Augustus Hall.

"A generous welcome too, I must add." The Doge greeted the Emperor.

"I'm not sure we're well acquainted yet. My name is Stefano Contini. I came from a humble village in Tiburtina, and it feels good to return home after so long." Stefano was built like an ox. Broad shoulders and muscular arms, he also supported a gut that showed far too many years of pleasure in his diet. Stefano was accompanied by two other men, which walked behind him. They appeared to be servants, or perhaps diplomats of some form. They weren't introduced by the Doge and they didn't speak either.

The large conference hall echoed the bellowing voice of the Doge who spoke very animated and quite loudly. He may have even appeared a little drunk to the Emperor. Certainly the smell of wine was evident on his breath. "My dear Emperor, as it is you who have summoned me to revisit my lovely homeland, I shall let you begin proceedings. I'm anxious to begin and find out what exactly you had in mind for our two nations."

The Emperor decided to be direct with young Doge.

"As I said, We have many things to discuss, but the whole project is so simple ... the Latium Alliance"

The Emperor picked up a box with various papers and documents.

"This project was made by my Imperial Grandfather Emperor Viccaro III, but he had no support from his Gonfaloniere and the project was forgotten. But I have!
It will be very simple, is an and economic alliance and also an mutual defense between our nations valuing the development of the region."

Stefano nodded. "I'm keen on the idea. In fact I feel our nations have natural ties to each other. Of course it would do me no more pleasure than to sign an agreement of peace and friendship with the country of my birth."

His hands moved animatedly as he talked. He continued, "It is my dream to sign such a document, but naturally I first must know the specifics. My Council would not be so pleased with me if I were to blindly sign such a document, and I take my job very seriously."

"Well, we need to establish a trade area to promote through our nations a balanced and sustainable development of our economy and an degree of competitiveness among us.
As well we needs to agree to establish between themselves a collective security space aimed at countering exterior aggression against the Latium Region. "

The Emperor picked up a paper and a pen.

Stefano was a bit baffled. He had hoped that he'd have to do nothing but sit down read a document and sign it. Now he'd have to assist in writing something. At this rate he decided, he'd just have to go for something preliminary. The Alliance document could grow as it needed to grow as an organization. Stefano sighed, "Very well. Here is my idea for a draft document. It is very short, but allows for expansion."


The Latium Alliance (L'alleanza Lazio), is an alliance between the Most Serene Republic of Vittoria and the Tiburian Empire. The alliance is established with the goal of providing for the support of the signature nations, both economically and in the common defense.

1.) A free-trade program between Vittoria and the Imperium, with the exception of three programs for each nation.

2.) A mutual defense alliance, in which an act of war against either nation, signifies an attack upon both nations.

3.) That the alliance is expandable to any nation with the first two points always needing to be established, additional points may always be added if agreed upon by the membership.
