Government responds to Imperial offensive in Yujin
---
General Tai Dongjian of the Imperial forces of Yujin recently announced an increased drive against the Communist Hongmenghui rebels in that nation. Earlier today, Secretary of State Joan Tala released a short statement outlining the Federal position on this action.
"For many years, the Empire of Yujin has struggled against internal factionalism and insurrection. This instability creates an environment that negatively affects the nations of Touyou and the world as a whole. The Federal Republic of Mellarmia respects the sovereignty of the Empire against the rebel forces and commends this attempt to regain territorial integrity and end this period of conflict and strife."
No mention was made of any possible involvement by Mellarmian forces, but this hasn't stopped some sources from speculating about possible military aid. The Socialist Labor Party, a minor power in Mellarmian politics, said that any involvement in Yujin would "only lead to disaster and national embarrassment." A spokesperson for the party went on to say that "we would be sending a message of support for imperialism against self-determination for the people of Seora and Southland, whose struggle for independence mirrors our own." The same spokesperson denied claims that his party was in favor of a Communist victory, citing "ideological differences" with the Hongmenghui.

BULLETINS
- Secretary of State Tala and a small delegation of dignitaries recently attended the State Funeral of Emperor Juntai of Beishan. She expressed hope and optimism at the ascendancy of Prince Minshui, stating that "his youth and intelligence will bring new ideas to the table."
- The government offered condolences also to the people of Touzen at the death of Lord Protector Kaneko Haru.
- The State Department declined to comment on the rapid changes in Valkany, reflecting a general silence that it has maintained on recent events.
