Many people were murdered today at a football match in Letvin. The match was tense, due to the rivalry of the two teams that faced off, SS Khutor Krasnyy and Letvin SC. The teams are based in the same city, Letvin, but our known for their different political alignments. Khutor Krasnyy's supporters are known for having conservative political opinions, while Letvin SC fans are known for being liberal. The tragedy took place at the Mykola Mikhailo Zdorov'ya Park. (LSC home grounds.) The event began when SSKK supporters threw a smoke grenade on the field, which detonated and wounded Ruslan Ihor, the LSC goalkeeper. The LSC fans responded by attacking the SSKK stands. Many riot policemen fired rubber bullets and threw tear gas in the crowd, which added to the pre-existing panic among both sets of supporters. 14 people were killed during the brawl, and the other 65 fans were trampled and killed once all the fans ran out at once. It is believed that the maintainers of the stadium are at fault too, because they only opened one exit during the match. Directly after the incident, both team presidents apologized and condemned the fans for their actions. The match was suspended and will currently be re-held on March 1, at 9 PM.
