Hello all!

I'm Bryan, I am a Southern Nationalist

Listen here Johnny Reb......

Yes we'll rally round the flag, boys, we'll rally once again,
Shouting the battle cry of freedom,
We will rally from the hillside, we'll gather from the plain,
Shouting the battle cry of freedom!
The Union forever! Hurrah, boys, hurrah!
Down with the traitor, up with the star;
While we rally round the flag, boys, rally once again,
Shouting the battle cry of freedom!

First of all, this will not be Hannover. That is just a temporary name. I have entered a request to be changed to 'Livonia'.

Second, this is Fleur.

I plan to do another very small nation. No I am not scrapping Nicosia. This will be a secondary venture. The nation will be Baltic in nature, drawing heavily from Estonia.

Please note that I am holding off on doing very much, if any, RP with Livonia until the war(s) are over. Nicosia will remain my primary nation and will be the focus of most of my RP.

I feel there is a lack of small nations here and I feel like they add some flavor.

Enjoy your stay. Though as for nationstates - you won't necessarily need it to enjoy the forum.

This is for anyone too recent to remember me (or for anyone who has forgotten):

Europaland (hopefully to be situated on B4) is a nation made up of several different ethnic/language groups: the largest of which are English and Norwegian. The others I've yet to determine for sure depending on which nations would be willing to have previously had colonies there or a history or refugees fleeing to the area to escape persecution several centuries ago. Previously I also had Celtic, French, German and Spanish minorities so I'd be interested to hear from nations that share these cultures. On the whole Europaland is very multicultural and has a near open-borders policy towards anyone wanting to settle there.

Each language area has a great degree of autonomy and nationalist movements pushing for independence. One of the strongest nationalist movements is in Norwegian speaking Nordland which enjoys a large degree of oil wealth (or at least that's what I RPed before and hope to do again). Politically, culturally and socially though there is a lot which unites the different groups. Almost everyone (80% or so) is left-wing to varying degrees from anarchists, to communists, to left-libertarians, environmentalists, feminists and social democrats. Previously I RPed my government as a coalition of the left-libertarian Socialist Left party and the social-democratic Centre Party but originally it was governed by communists.

Economically Europaland is very prosperous and has a successful market-socialist economy based on worker-owned cooperatives. The country has a clean, unspoilt environment and is also becoming an important alternative tourist destination. Everyone enjoys access to first-class healthcare, education and a comprehensive welfare state while unemployment is almost unheard of. People also enjoy a great degree of political and civil liberties and have many opportunities to influence how their communities and workplaces are managed.

The country prides itself on its social-libertarianism and almost everything is tolerated unless it's seen to violate the country's egalitarian tradition in some way (eg. prostitution). As people might remember Europaland is famous for being full of extreme radical feminists but the mainstream feminist movement has moved in a more moderate/libertarian direction in recent years as gender equality within the country itself has increasingly been taken for granted. In fact it's almost becoming a matriarchy in some ways with women a majority among top politicians for example.

Communism in this edition of NSEurope has mostly moved away from the Stalinist stereotypes of earlier years, with council-communist nations like Carentania to demarchies like Denisova, so Europaland will be a welcome addition. However, I would suggest not just imposing old Europaland on this new version, and instead make some changes. Perhaps Europaland emerged as a left-libertarian version of the United States but with some differences? A collection of variously owned colonies that achieved independence and for whatever reason, formed a federation of sorts?

True, it would be nice to fit you into the collective history.

Kryobaijan
Some of the political thought behind Kryobaijan's latest government has roots in feminism/sociology, e.g. intersectionality, triple oppression. These ideals don't always get from theory to practice though, and the country is still fairly authoritarian. I could see it having a positive relations with Europaland.

Havenshire would likely enjoy very strong relations with Europaland aswell. Its relative proximity means that it probably contributed a significant diaspora during the 19th century(similar to Ireland/Scotland's) and its current political status would see it looking to establish strong trade links with Europaland. Although we're hardly in a position to have been former colonial masters, I also support the suggestion of a similar origin to the US, though rather than being 12 colonies united by a single Empire, perhaps the Federation of Europaland was formed out of seperate imperial territories?

Either way, I am intrigued by the idea of Europaland, and look forward to RPing with you. Perhaps if we're really nice to you, you'll let us have Sub Bases on your coastline, to expand our secret emp- i mean, protect the international maritime proletariat. :p

That sounds not a bad idea. I plan to have the Celts perhaps as the original inhabitants, then Anglo-saxons and Vikings can perhaps have arrived and settled in parts of the country around 1000 years ago. The other ethnic groups can perhaps all have arrived later as colonies, revolting and then joining with the earlier inhabitants to form a democratic federation of some kind. B4 is too close to the centre of Europe for it to have been almost entirely uninhabited before the colonies arrived.

Possibly I can fit Götarike in. As I said I envisage the Nordic peoples coming quite early (around the same time they went to Sörlandeten) but perhaps many of them can have originally come from the area that is now part of Götarike.

I'm sure my government would see Kryobaijan largely as an ally, perhaps criticising the lack of democracy from time to time but largely confining its interference to more gentle persuasion and building links with those figures in the regime seen as most sympathetic to libertarian goals. We could definitely be important trading partners and cooperate on some foreign policy or defence issues.

Sounds interesing. Both our political affiliations and geographical closeness should make us key allies and economic partners. As Havenshire is English speaking I'm sure we can have it that many people from there have settled in the English speaking parts of Europaland in times of hardship back home. Definitely it needs to be different countries that had colonies due to the different languages spoken.

I'm sure a couple of sub bases could be arranged once our countries have built up a close relationship. On the whole my nation is quite pacifistic and is keen to avoid anything that could cause conflict with other states militarily so it would definitely demand a certain degree of control over what the bases were used for.

Hey guys! I'm Anglia, I played NSEurope quite a while ago. As break strolls around and I have a lessened school workload, i'm looking to return to the world of RP. Would anyone be gracious enough to PM some details about the current state of the world in a nutshell? I've been strolling the forums for a few days now and I am still thoroughly confused as to the direction of where everything is going, but glad to see NSEurope is still alive and kickin'!
