Activation of First D-54 Regiment

The 3rd Military District announced today that the 133rd Guards Artillery Regiment of the 83rd Revolutionary Guards Breakthrough Artillery Division became the first unit to be formally equipped with the fully modern D-54 122mm Gun. This new weapon has been accepted by the NRPA after extensive trials and will replace thousands of obsolete D-37 and D-31 guns in both artillery and anti-tank roles. Fondly regarded as it may be by many veterans and service men, the NRPAs military-scientific experts have concluded that the D-37 is no longer suitable to the needs of the modern battlefield. Reaction and imperialist powers it is believed will soon be equipped with advanced new artillery systems which will be superior in range, power and accuracy.

It is the D-54 that will meet this challenge. Though its specifications are a highly classified military secret, technical experts say the new gun is superior to the old in all respects. It is not less than one tonne lighter than the D-37, it has longer maximum range, greater accuracy and superior armor penetration. This last characteristic says officers, is of particular importance. Since the original D-31 was introduced the fighting characteristics of battle tanks has increased many-fold. Effective anti-tank defense will be indispensable on the battlefields of the future, and with the D-54 in hand the artillery is fully prepared to face down its opponents.

Soldiers interviewed by Rising Star were extremely enthusiastic about their new weapon. One young conscript said that such modern weapons proved the determination of the KNRR to resist reactionary, imperialist and revisionist powers with all its might. Another, an older gunner, praised the Stavka for its foresight for promptly dispatching the new weaponry to the volatile Tulun border region. With guns like these, he beamed, the Tulun revisionary clique would not dare set one foot onto free soil.

Central Soviet, Sovnarkom Slams Failure of Decolonisation Conference

The Central Soviet has passed a unanimous resolution condemning the outcome of the Conference on the Decolonisation of Himyar as "totally inadequate". Speaking to the Central Soviet on behalf of the Sovnarkom, Peoples Commissar for Foreign Affairs Fredek Sudelsoka also castigated the conferences outcome. "Not one single colonial power agreed, even in principle, to work towards the independence of Himyar! The emperor has lost his clothes. The workers, peasants and intellectuals of the KNRR cannot sit idle while such a gross violation of the fundamental right to democratic self-determination is trampled upon."

Asked how the Sovnarkom intended to respond to the collapse of negotiations, Commissar Sudelsoka responded: "There is unanimity in the Council of Peoples Commissars that as the vanguard of the revolutionary movement, the KNRR must strike hard against this rank imperialism and assume leadership role in the struggle for the total liberation of Himyar. Today we are working with our revolutionary friends and allies to craft an immediate response and a long-term strategy." The Sovnarkom's position was supported by all parties.

A number of high-ranking diplomats interviewed anonymously by the Revolutionary Truth told our reporters that they had received high-level orders to place the Himyar question at the top of their agenda. One diplomat, who is posted to a trade mission in a major Carolingian nation, told our reporter: "In the past we were directed that the first priority was to secure market access for good produced by free labour and to lure foreign capitalists into investing in the KNRR. But now we have been directed to familiarize ourselves with entities and individuals profiting from the occupation of Himyar, dealings with them is absolutely forbidden."

We in the High Kingdom find this move flippant, rash and incredibly reckless to your own domestic economy and the needs of your people to sell produce to the international market.

We hate to inform you that yes, it takes more then a one week conference for a nation to upend an entire colonial system in place and we hope that whatever satisfaction you get from harming the trade of our nations in Gallia-Germania shall get your economy through the fact that it has effectively closed up shop to an enormous market. We hope your nation does not suffer a business reputation backlash from so rapidly ''shutting down everything'' and we are sure that people will be flocking to invest in your nation in the future. If they even can, we in Ivernia are not as ''enlightened'' as the people of the KNRR in terms of smart business moves.

Our two nations have never been on the best of terms, and so Ivernia is sure whatever small needs the KNRR supplied between us shall be pounced upon by the international market, eager to do good business. The High Kingdom of Ivernia shall keep an open door policy for our neighbours in the east, should you ever decide to switch back, perhaps just as rapidly, to exporting your raw minerals into our modern market.

The Territorial Administration and the Provisional Government can't but express their severe concern at the escalating row of tensions currently instigated by the KSRP regime. The economic warfare now initiated by the Reds serves as a further reminder that sound and steady diplomatic deals can't be achieved with irrational and ideologically-challenged brutalizers. The Territorial Administration and the Provisional Government express their position that all questions pertaining Himyar should be resolved between the immediately involved parties, and that rash agitation for the creation of a hostile environment of agitation by third parties is not in the interest of a universally agreeable process in Himyar, nor indeed conductive to stability in Gallo-Germania.

With this in mind, the Foreign Liaison Office stresses to all interested parties that the Tulun Territory will continue to be a doorway to Pontic goods and will continue to enter into business relations with all parties interested in an honest exchange of goods. This is the policy of the Territory, and this policy is representative of the policies the Provisional Government will enact across the nation once full restoration of Kievan sovereignty has been achieved. As long as the Reds hold the plurality of Kievan citizens under their yoke and engage in ruthless military provocations - provocations which the Territorial Administration and the Provisional Government had until now generously overlooked in the interest of Gallo-Germanian stability - the continent will continue to be under the permanent threat of unprofessional, hawkish and economically damaging conduct by the KSRP regime.

Indeed, the Territorial Administration wishes to remind the International Community that only a few days earlier, the 'Rising Star' press organ of the KSRP military apparatus not only announced that it would be circling new, deadlier, artillery weaponry into usage, a category of armament generally employed for conducting aggressive offensive actions, but also that it would deploy the first of these new weapons towards the Wall, where Tulun guardists and international volunteers are maintaining Kievan sovereignty against Red incursions. Instead of foolishly answering the KSRP hopes of the Territorial Administration escalating the tensions however, the Territorial Administration and its defensive organs in conjunction with the Provisional Government had decided to retain a professional attitude and not respond in kind by counter-deployments, revealing the fundamentally differing attitudes of the Kievan Provisional Government and the KSRP regime towards the question of peace.

The Territorial Administration and Provisional Government will continue to be reliable partners to the international community and will always seek to expand economic, diplomatic and cultural ties with all responsible and civilized parties of cordial conduct.

Your "achievement" is nothing more than fiddling with the superstructure of social relations. It is a sop to weaken the consciousnesses of the Himyari masses so that the extraction of surplus value can continue unimpeded. We declare the conference a failure because it produced not one sentence of substantial worth. True progress for the masses can only come through a comprehensive reform of the basic social relations; breaking the chains of imperial dependency is the singular prerequisite for the sovereign self-determination of the Himyari people.

It is said that those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it. The revolution in Himyar is a historical inevitability, but the imperialists have once again willfully blinded themselves. Their fate is already written.

88th Operational Squadron Ordered into Gothic Sea

As global tensions continue to rise between the arch-reactionaries of Valkany and the fraternal socialist states, the NRPA's North-Western Theater of Military Operations has ordered the 88th Operational Squadron to leave port in Stari Ladoga and sail for the Gothic Sea at full steam. State sources refused to comment on the reasoning behind a military order but assured Rising Star that the peoples government was "fully appraised" on the situation and had complete confidence in the military command.

Independent military experts consulted by Rising Star however were unanimous in their appraisal: On-station in the Gothic Sea the 88th Operational Squadron was perfectly placed to engage the Valkanian navy should it attempt to sail. In the words of one retired naval officer: "With the red fleet in the Gothic the Valkanians freedom of action is greatly restricted. Whoever controls the Gothic can cut the Revolutionary Republics most vital western lines of communication, so it is hardly surprising that the Revolutionary Military Council will not sit idle when it is under threat. But as long as our fleet is in the Gothic it is not just possible to prevent the Valkanians from closing the western approaches, we can begin to contemplate bringing the fight to them as well."

Asked to comment, a representative of the Narkomindel stated the following: "The 88th Operational Squadron has sailed for previously scheduled fleet maneuvers in the Gothic Sea. After intensive debate the Sovnarkom reached a consensus that while the timing of the maneuvers may not be ideal in light of the current international climate, to cancel of reschedule the fleet maneuvers was not a viable option. The Revolutionary Republic will not cede one millimeter to the imperialist warmongers. Our intent is peaceful but our resolve is unshakeable; should the Valkanian junta attempt to use this as a pretext for war we are fully prepared to uphold the Revolutionary Republic and repel imperialist aggression."

Kyivan Socialists Workers Party Adopts "Two Pillar" Strategy in the Eastern Cape

The Central Committee of the KSRP has voted overwhelmingly in favor of the "Two Pillar" strategy proposed by the Party Committee on Anti-Imperialism. Based on the parties own research and input from leading socialist thinkers, the Two Pillar strategy hypothesizes that the primary impediments to the development of socialism in Himyar, and by extension the primary mechanisms of capitalist control, are the extremely low standards of health and consciousness among the Black Himyari native population. Consequently if Socialism is too flourish in Himyar the KSRP must focus its energies first on raising the standards of political education and healthcare among the native population. Only when these objectives have been achieved will the native population be able to achieve a level of conscience necessary for a revolutionary movement to begin.

According with the first Pillar, healthcare, the Central Committee voted to organized a Revolutionary Peoples Medical Brigade. Resolving to find at least 500 doctors willing to relocate to the Eastern Cape to establish peoples clinics, to raise the standards of living among the black Himyari population. "In the colonies of the imperialist powers" resolved the KSRP "there is no one factor which contributes to the immiseration of the native masses than the easily treated maladies which strike them relentlessly. The peoples relentless struggle against disease not only robs them of physical strength, but mental strength as well. So fatigued they are unable to develop the level of consciousness necessary to a ferment a resistance against their imperial oppressors. Knowing this, as communists and as humans, we must strike hard against infirmity using all the principles of scientific medicine. The revolutionary struggle against disease in the Eastern Cape must be seen as the foundation of and precursor to the revolutionary struggle against capitalism." Funding for the new clinics will be collected through a small annual levy on all party members salaries.

And in accordance with the second Pillar, the KSRP voted to dispatch a team of Party organization experts to the newly independent Cape Colony to create the conditions for the formation of a new vanguard party consonant with the principles of Marx, Engel and Iziaslav thought. As directed by the Two Pillar principles the first task of the new party will be to recruit among those in the Eastern Cape who have already achieved a sufficient level of class consciousness who will be tasked with going down to the villages to explain to the masses in practical terms the benefits socialism will bring to the people. To lead the expedition the KSRP summoned Oleksandr T. Lviv, a distinguished party councillor and revolutionary who was born and raised in Eastern Cape Colony to an ethnically Rus father and Himyari Mother before his family emigrated to the KNRR when he was 13 years old. Speaking before the Central Committee Oleksandr pledged as a true communist to work ceaselessly to raise the consciousness of his homeland and to till the soil so that socialism may soon flourish in Himyar.

Editorial: Peoples Revolutionary Insurrectionary Army Navy Must Pursue the Development of a Blue Water Navy

While none can doubt that the Revolutionary Republic was completely successful in its bid to oust imperialists from Himyar, the recent crisis exposed a disturbing limitation. The revolutionary Republic lacks a true expeditionary warfare capability and consequently was unable to directly influence events in the far south, instead being forced to rely on its local allies to pick up the slack. Though it may have made no difference in the outcome of this war what can no longer be denied is that without a true expeditionary warfare capability the revolutionary Republic lacks to reach to be a true power in the world.

Coming out of this crisis there is now a general belief within the revolutionary military Council that the revolutionary Republic must press ahead with the development of blue water navy as soon as possible. Of paramount importance will be the development and operation of true oceangoing aircraft carriers capable of supporting fleet operations on a global scale. This will represent not only a significant financial undertaking but a revolution in our strategic thinking as well. In the past are naval forces were content to limit themselves to the water surrounding the country and little emphasis has been placed on developing these are the skills or the mindset needed to sustain naval operations over intercontinental distances. It is high time that this changed.

At this point in time within the socialist world only that Carentanian navy operates an aircraft carrier and a single one at that. This leaves the revolutionary block at a tremendous military disadvantage when compared against the naval forces of the advanced capitalist states. In the event of the general confrontation it is hard to imagine how the revolutionary Republic and its allies could avoid being isolated and defeated in detail by a coalition of capitalist states. Even the enormous military power of our ground forces will count for little in the revolutionary Republic is isolated, cut off, and starved into submission.

It is hard to imagine why when our Navy operates five obsolescent battleships at tremendous cost when we lack a single functional aircraft carrier. In this officers opinion the revolutionary military Council should at the soonest possible opportunity scrap these ancient warships and use the savings to help fund the construction of our first aircraft carrier. While in the interim this will represent a loss capabilities, in the long-term it would position the People's Navy on the forefront of developments in military science and technology. Even more importantly it would secure the revolutionary republics place as a leading world power into the 20th century.

KNRR TO JOIN RDTO

In a surprise announcement today, the Sovnarkom revealed that following intensive secret negotiations the KNRR had reached an agreement with Tyrrenhia and Carentania to become a member of the Revolutionary Defence Treaty Organization. The draft of the ascension agreement was swiftly ratified by the Central Soviet, though the Central Committee of the United Front released a statement protesting the failure of the Sovnarkom to consult the opposition, they ultimately voted in favor of ratification. Both parties Central Committees also came together to issue a rare joint statement, praising the decision to seek RDTO membership as the "first step towards the creation of a new international and the ultimate reunification of revolutionary thought."

Unheralded as it may be, the ascension agreement surprised few experts. Caretania, Tyrrhenia and the KNNR put aside their differences and worked in unison during the Eastern Cape Crisis. In the eyes of many this unity was key to generating the momentum which ultimately forced the Valkanian Empire to back down and withdraw from the Eastern Cape. Unified, the revolutionary states showed they could wield power in Europa far beyond what any one could accomplish alone. And coming directly on the heels of the Eastern Cape, the formation of the "Gladio" alliance was widely within the KNNR as a reactionary move aimed at countering Socialist interests. Formal ascension to the RDTO then is in experts eyes, a natural development.

The Narkomindel reports it expects the Ascension Agreement to be ratified in Carentania and Tyrrhenia very shortly.
