President Carme Chacón agrees to break the Isolationist policies of the past.

Nearing her end of her first year in Power, President Chacón has shown to be skilled in her job and has the support of the masses. Today, President Chacón said she will agree with the Assembly's iniciative to begin to be more active in foreign affairs.

The President had this to say:
"Ever since the fall of the Empire, our country has remained isolationist. Our economy is improving; our country’s standard of living is increasing. It is time for us to break the shackles of isolationism and move into the world, for economic and diplomatic purposes. I hope that with these words, friendships between our nations and other may arise.

Coruña’s growing economy will hopefully attract other nations to us, and gain us a level of prestige.”

The people are rather unsure about the country’s idea to become more active, and stand by to see what the future holds for our people.

President Chacón releases views on political ideologies’ impact in foreign policy

President Chacón earlier released a statement saying she wanted to end the isolationism that has been in our country since our independence. However, Chacón has stated the following:

“Political Ideology is not extremely important in our foreign policy planning. I would like to become closely aligned with the Spanish-cultured countries and other countries sharing the similar political ideologies, because they will be easier to work with. With countries of different policies, diplomatic talks could spiral into debate in ideology. I will not begin negotiations with countries that have belligerent policies.”

In other news…

• A school in Barranquilla was forced to close because it couldn’t break even. The school was widely known for not having anywhere near the academic standards of neighboring school districts. Barranquilla Councilmen call it a good thing, as are most of the people of Coruña.
• Valencia City Council has begun to put out fundraisers for the construction of a memorial to the founding of the city.

President Chacón took her place before the entire Assembly. Behind her were the Vice-President and Assembly Speaker. Cameras from all news agencies were focused on her. Her speech was public, available to anyone in Europe who had a TV and a news station that runs Coruñan news. The room quieted as she began to speak.

“Good Morning, people of the Assembly, people of Coruña. Our nation, Coruña, has stood as a Republic for fifty-two years. We threw out the horror of our communist government and replaced it with this one. Many lives were lost in that war. Since 1957, we lived with the belief that communism and its horrors were cast away, no longer a threat. This has been our ignorance. The truth is that the communist ideology still exists and is still a threat.

A threat that looms just north and west of our nation, Meribia. Their ideology of oppression is a threat to our own security. Their way of life is a threat to the Coruñan Free State. None of their crimes against humanity stand out as much as their oppression towards Zefielia. They’ve occupied the country for generations, raping their economy, land, and culture. Do not be fooled. Meribia is not the only communist nation that is a threat. The Carentanian Government is debating whether or not to build an academy designed to support revolutionaries in foreign lands. What this really is is a support of terrorism and the destruction of stable governments.

It is not our policy to stand in opposition of a socialist or social democratic country. It is our policy to stand in opposition of communist expansion. My administration is not forcing capitalism upon the world. My administration is in full support of democracy, the right of the people to decide. Should people elect a communist government, so be it. I do not want said elected government to actively support terrorism and attempt to overthrow stable governments.

I am saying this because there is an alliance out there, one that moves in opposition of communism. This alliance is made up of countries that are ideologically similar to our country. That alliance is the Alliance for a Greater Europe. This alliance is something that is beneficial to us, both economically and for security. The problem of our isolationist policy is that it will lead to our destruction. We must join the AGE alliance and end our policy of isolationism.

Meribia is a nuclear nation. I am not suggesting that we construct nuclear weapons; they are only built with the intent to kill. I am, however, suggesting we construct missile defense systems. With that, we will feel safer and more secure. This is a feeling that needs to come back to Coruña.

I have called this session of the Assembly because I personally wanted to share my concerns. I do not want to see the Assembly continue to debate on the matter of joining AGE, I want to see a vote be made…today. I would prefer that vote be in favor of joining the Alliance and mandates an application be sent. I want to thank the Assembly for your time,” President Chacón asked, to a wave of cheers.
Speaker Vasquez stood and said, “Members of the Assembly. The time for debate has ceased, we will now vote on joining the AGE alliance. Please cast your vote immediately.”

After nearly an hour, the Assembly’s decision was made. The Assembly had voted, slightly, in favor of applying to join the AGE Alliance. President Chacón said “It was one of the happiest moments of my young Presidency.”

We applaud the speech made by the esteemed President Chacón, but are however wary of the choices the Republic of Coruña might be making. The AGE is an group of nations that do not oppose the evil that is communism, in fact cooperation exists on several levels in certain member states of the AGE. Another fact is that there is an alliance that opposes extreme-leftism which you are well aware of, the League of Free States. We hope that the people and the government of Coruña will not chose to belong within the corrupt web of the AGE.

We would be more then willing to further explain our point of view on this topic should you wish. May Europe soon be united under one strong banner.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Levantine States
The Levantine States can hardly be accused of being friendly to communist states. Many Levantine men were sent to the front far from Jerusalem, loyal enough to bleed not for their own country, but for another country and for the struggle against oppression and tyranny. One of the greatest tragedies of the Great War would be that their struggle would be futile.

The people of Jizhou would soon find one despot replaced by another, far more brutal. For over 60 years, scheming Oikawan bureaucrats and servile toadies handpicked from the local population by the Oikawan God-Emperor have opressed 1.5 billion people. Who doesn't remember vividly the massacres of Koreans, the invasion of Volga, the enslavement of the Ozghur Turks.

The Levantine States espouses a doctrine of sovereignity and freedom. Ratomkira one of expansionism and opression: "May Europe soon be united under one strong banner." The comment makes complete sense however, that one banner that the Royal Office is talking about is the sole thing that sets them apart from the most hardline communist countries.
