One World Music Festival
Üks Maailm Muusika Festivali
For Peace, Friendship and Peaceful Coexistence
Rahu, Sõpruse ja Rahumeelse Kooseksisteerimise

The Democratic Republic of Saaremaa wishes to invite all the peoples of the world to Kuressaare to celebrate together the world's peace, the friendship between peoples and the future peaceful coexistence between nations that will bring humanity to new levels of development. We are inviting delegations from all the nations to come to Saaremaa and unite together in a show of force against aggressive imperialism and against fascist dictatorships. The world shall stand united in solidarity for liberty, democracy and lasting peace.

We plan to fight against totalitarianism with the most powerful weapon: music. For this we will like to invite you to the first edition of the One World Music Festival, in which we will show all imperialists, fascists and dictators that the free world stands together united and that we can stop them, not with the critique of weapons, but with the weapons of critique, with music and culture.

Each national delegation will be formed of the singer/band and ten juries. The each jury will give a point to their favorite song. Its legal for multiple juries to vote for one song, but its illegal to vote for the song from their own country.

To the attention the committee responsible for the organisation of the One World Music Festival,

Most Honorable Ladies and Gentlemen,

While we certainly appreciate the sentiment behind your actions, as well as the immense effort, resources and time you have invested in this event, sadly the Ionian Confederacy, due to our long standing policy of Neutrality cannot participate in an event whcih takes direct aim against on single side of the political spectrum. While we do not share the views or policies of the condemned persons, it is however our most firm belief that cultural events, especially those dubbed "International" or "One World", should not target or exclude one specific ideology and the nations following it no matter how disgusting or idiotic that ideology may seem. Thus we must state that until the political references are removed or dismissed we cannot legally partake in this event as obliged by the Declaration of Neutrality of the Ionian Confederacy. We wish you the best of luck, hope that all nations able to do so may participate and that this event may be a success in all sectors.

Most Truly,
Aristotle F. Kifisodotou

We are saddened by the fact that the leaders of the Ionian Confederation didn't understand the scope of the festival. Saaremaa just liberated itself from a fascist dictatorship and we are celebrating our entrance into the free world by organizing the first edition of the festival. The fascist ideology has brought huge destruction to the Saare state and thus we have embarked on a road in which we do not want to ever hear again about this monstrous mentality. Its a pity if the Ionian Confederation doesn't want to accept the will of the Saare people, but we wish to say that its not right for the Ionian artists to barred from participating in a world festival simply because of their government's position.

Signed,
Minister of Foreign Affairs,
Alvar Kuusk

To the attention of the Government of the Democratic Republic of Saaremaa,

Your Excellencies,

Nor the Ionian Confederacy neither the its Government have any problem with accepting the will of the Saare people. We did so a long time ago. We cannot however, based on the Declaration of Neutrality of the Ionian Confederation, send a state sponsored team in an international event which politically positions itself. We are most certainly not barring anyone from taking part, they will however have to find the support of another government to send them to the Festival, as our current Constitution's clauses on Neutrality strictly prohibit such action. In my view, it is a pity that you feel that our government somehow rejects the will of your people, a people we deeply respect, simply because of the fundamental Neutrality in the nature of our Constitution.

Most Truly,
Aristotle F. Kifisodotou
