Confederate Council Calls for Restraint

In a rare council wide Declaration the Confederate Council has issued a plea and called for the European Defense Federation to show restraint in the conflict and prevent further escalation of the conflict with Solaren.

It is in the Best interest of all Nations around the Long Sea and for the International Community to pressure and urge and pressure for the cessation of hostilities between the European Defense Federation and the Kingdom of Solaren before governments, economies, and civilians that have nothing to do with this conflict feel the repercussions of this event for however long the duration may be.

The Kingdom of Solaren has the full right to defend its people and territory by any means necessary and it has acted pre-emptively to dispose of the threat of force that had been assembled against it. Both sides are equally guilty for this conflict but however the EDF could and can still bring resolution to this conflict before the conflict can cause far greater harm then any good.

It is believed that should the conflict continue into the coming weeks the threat to commerce for nations not involved in the region and those further away from the conflict zone could be greatly hampered and many in the Council are holding the EDF as those primarily responsible for the eruption of hostilities in the region.

It is very disconcerting that Conferate Council would tout that the "Kingdom of Solaren has the full right to defend its people and territory by any means necessary" but not afford the Kingdom of Lorraine that same right. Is it the contention of the Platte government that while it was the Solaren military buildup on our border that prompted this government to ask its allies for aid in defence from a probable attack that we did not have that right, that the Kingdom of Lorraine does not have the same right of other nations, the right to defend its people and territory by any means necessary. If that is the case, Lorraine is very fortunate that is fiends and allies do not think the same way as we suspect that the Platte government would not have been opposed to Lorraine being overrun by the military of Solaren.

The Kingdom of Lorraine has just as much right to defend its territorial Integrity it is in the view of our Council that the European Defense Federation left Solaren with no other options but to pre-emptively strike upon their assembled forces in the best interest of Defense. You cannot back an animal into a corner and not expect it to just retire away, no when you corner an animal it will look and wait for the best opportunity and way to defeat those whom have cornered it with the looks and intentions of harming it.

We believe that not all diplomatic routes were attempted by the EDF to resolve conflict and instead the use of military force was already thought of and planned to launch an incursion offensively into the Kingdom of Solaren and as such that it was in the Kingdom of Solarens best interest to launch a strategic assault upon the forces opposing it in the idea of defending itself.

The idea and belief that Nicosia or by extension, the EDF, did not exhaust all measures in searching for a solution is flawed and simply incorrect. Following state-sponsored terrorist attacks on Nicosia, we brought the issue to the international community. We asked for the world to aid us in the situation. With the exception of aid offers and condolences, we received little. When the rhetoric from Solaren became one of further threats we again turned to the international community. Nothing.

The Solaris government then interred, or rather kidnapped, over 1400 Nicosian citizens and held them for RANSOM and what did the world do to Solaren after they murdered many while further demanding ransom? They stood by and merely froze a few assets. As Nicosia pleaded with the world, they stood and watched. Next, the rhetoric again became one of further threats. Then Solaris ships began harassing Nicosian fishing ships in international waters. Then they began cutting fishing lines. And the world....did nothing.

Then, in an attempt to preserve a peace, Nicosia issued a protective zone for its fishing vessels. This was brazenly ignored by the Solaris government and Nicosian ships were boarded, their crews beaten. Piracy.

In response, little Nicosia called on her allies to come to her aid after the international community at large failed to lift a finger. Nicosia then sent a diplomatic team to the Solaris leadership. You could ask the diplomatic team we sent to the Solaris leadership if we were doing enough to find a peace but they are dead. George Stassino, Henry Opul, and Adolfo Tomas are now murdered by the Solaris government following a mission to try and find a peace.

This is a war fought on the very morals of international law. The right of a nation to defend itself is one of these morals. Repeatedly, Nicosia was attacked. We did our best to explore international diplomatic avenues of peace and direct avenues of peace. That has failed. Clearly, you must understand the idea of a nation's right to defend itself as you have just cited Solaren as defending itself. Nicosia has called on her allies to do just that against a rabid animal that backed itself into a corner.

Engellex Marches to War with European Defense Federation
Confederate Council applauds Her Majesty Queen Charlotte for taking stand

The European Defense Federation provoked an un-expected enemy on its Northern borders as The Union of Great Engellex has taken a stand against the EDF aggressive stance towards nations that don't agree with their policies. Already the EDF attempts to point the blame for themselves having yet another conflict to fight away from themselves and upon Queen Charlotte and the citizens of Engellex keeping up with the traditional standpoint that they can police the world according to how they desire believing that their policies need be obeyed by the global community or else.

The Confederate Council has once again met to discuss the newest conflict involving the EDF behind closed doors for several hours where it is unknown exactly what was fully discussed but following the adjournment a statement was given to the Pointer and several other news outlets.

The European Defense Federation, better known as the EDF, has gone along unchecked for years and it is time for states to finally take a stand against them before they once again amass forces from their alliance to tackle another nation that finds itself standing alone by simply being non-aligned. It is the decision of this Council and the President of the Council that we give our moral support to the Union of Engellex for taking its aggressive stance against this enterprise of control and expansion. The loss of life while deplorable is an evil necessity at this point as if it were not for the Queen and her men in uniform being willing to take on this great burden and sacrifice then we shall fall one by one to become nothing more then puppets on a string

War Expands To The East
Government worries over sea traffic and Port Imperial

As yet another nation marches to war against the Solaris nation and people the Confederate Council has taken a different and more aggressive look at the sea traffic that passes thru the straits between Coronado and Solaren and into the port at the capital Imperial. This has led many to believe that as the war drags further along and progresses even further that shipping will be endangered by any of the parties involved inadvertently or directly. Already in the Naval Port crews can be seen readying several ships for action after orders came down from Defense officials calling for their preparedness.

The Confederate Council released statement to the press,

As Coronado joins the coalition against Solaren the straights shared by those two nations is a choke point for vital shipping into our capital and one of the busiest ports in the country. We cannot allow for shipping passing via this route to be threatened by this conflict and the odds of any party targeting such ships and as such we will be taking the necessary actions over the coming days to protect our shipping and interests. We shall begin flying combat aircraft and patrol craft to assist our naval vessels that shall be passing consistently thru the straights protecting the ships that still venture thru the potential war zone coming from our wandering out into the Long Sea. We hope that all parties currently involved in this conflict will take knowledge in this statement and take necessary levels to ensure there are no incidents that arise from this as all captains have full authorization to take necessary measures to protect their vessels should something occur.

Furthermore, any infringement upon Coronados sovereign naval territory or any operations disturbing the war effort by the socialist coalition is strongly advised against. Your trade routes are secure and in no need of even further militarization of the region.

Though the government of Socialist Republic urges against any attempts to transverse the waters seperating Coronado from Solaren, it will also not attempt to impede such attempts. In so saying, the Platte Confederation can rest assured that any interference of its vessels traveling though the Bay of Liberation, it will not be from the armed forces of Coronado. Be warned though, planes or vessels attempting to enter Coronadan airspace or waters without permission will be subject to attack and any attempt to interfere with socialist coalition operations will not be tolerated.
