Ministry of Foreign Affairs

From: Rufaro Mutasa, State President of the Federation of the Natal
To:
Mulatu Birru, Foreign Minister of Azraq, Manuel Sanabria, President of Auraria
Status: SECRET

Your Excellencies,

The Pan-Himyari summit is starting to really transform itself into a failure. News might soon talk about things like "progress is being made", but in reality there is no substance against it. The Empire of Pelasgia has proved to be a shadowy coloniser and imperialist power that has not sold but surrendered half the continent to the Engellexic Republic.

While we, as Natalians still deeply respect the Engellexic Republic as a country that has offered us so much, we are in complete opposition of what Chancellor Notaras called the Spheres of Influence Agreement in which the Pelasgians and Engellexians have divided the continent between themselves. We have no ill thoughts for the Engellexic presence on the continent, as there is a big community of Iverno-Engells in ETCOS and even now, many Natalians are currently supporting of the Company War in Al-Kez.

The main problem is that Pelasgia has divided the continent with the Engells and are seeing the Azraqi Empire and the Federation of the Natal as mere statelets under the Pelasgian sphere of influence. This is unacceptable. In the summit, Chancellor Notaras has stated that the Himyari nations need to ask the permission of Engellex to pacify Loago and potentially Port Stanley, because they crowned themselves Continental Emperors and offered them that part of the continent as their own "sphere of influence", while they will do anything to stop the liberation of Cabaon, because they see it as part of their own sphere of influence, and thus they want to respect the SQT treaty with Kadikistan. The same treaty that made them violate the Trier Concord alliance treaty when the war started.

All this really makes us ask. Is Pelasgia a nation that is ready to join us in this bloc of emerging nations, ready to face the great powers of this world, under whose dominion we have seen only war, famine and instability? Or are they a part of the old world order that wishes to keep Himyar under a status quo, because even if they have a homeland in Himyar, that doesn't make them less imperialistic or colonial. Look at Tephanon and at their latest civil war, where they suppressed everything in Memphis and Haydis and now they are suppressing the Highlanders (Munteni or Melingians as they call them).

That is why, we would like to avoid adding the Pelasgians into our new political and military projects and start seeing them with cooler eyes. While we need their markets as they are huge, we are not yet ready to see be overly hostile to them, but at the same time, we will be weary of them and put them in the same basket as the colonial nations.

We wish to propose a secret military alliance between Natalia, Auraria and Azraq so that we can work together to squash dissident movements that wish to disestablish the constitutional order and to put pressure for the continued decolonisation of Himyar.

Signed
on behalf of the folk and the State President,
Ryan Mopankotobogo
Minister of Foreign Affairs
@Auraria @Azraq

The Honorable Mulatu Birru
Foreign Minister
The Azraqi Empire
Jugol, Azraq

The Honorable Rufaro Mutasa
State President
The Federation of the Natal
Harton, Natalia

Dear Sirs,

It is with a heavy heart that we hear of the results of the Pan-Himyari Conference. I believe that the Aurarine Republic, Azraqi Empire, and Federation of the Natal all believed that the success of the conference would provide the greatest opportunities for the preserved peace, security, and prosperity of the continent.

With that being said, the Aurarines are concerned that an arrangement of this nature to not include the Pelasgians may be equally doomed to failure or provoke a strong antagonistic relationship between our countries and Pelasgia. In the event that the Pelasgian Government takes a hostile stance, than it is almost a certainty that this arrangement would be cause for significantly more harm than any benefit.

To that end, the Aurarine Republic suggests that our three countries do not commit to any sort of mutual defense pact nor joint defense commitment until such a time that an arrangement can be made that is more conducive to the prosperity of the continent as a whole. However, the Republic would be proud to send representatives to Azraq and Natalia to discuss increases in trade and an opening our of borders to increased enterprise. I do believe that increased economic cooperation between Azraq, Natalia, and Auraria would be beneficial to bringing the Pelasgians to the negotiating table.

I look forward to your response.

All the best,

Manuel H. Sanabria
President of the Republic
