The Bishops of Furlanìe joined together in the Patriarchal Basilica of Aquileia to decide their new spiritual guide, and today, 22/04/2020, I was elected Sieghard III, Patriarch of Aquileia.

In respect to the norms and traditions that bound us, I humbly ask for His Holiness the Pope to bless this decision, confirming my burden and privilege.

As Patriarch of Aquileia, I also ask His Holiness to bestow the title of Cardinal of the Tiburan Catholic Church as a show of respect to our loyalty and reverence to the Holy See.

We confirm the election of our brother in the Faith Seighard as Patriarch of Aquileia. When next a consistory is held, we will give all due consideration to his incardination. May he go with our apostolic blessing.
