The Portusgalian Auto-Industry
Several attempts were made during the 30s,but ultimately failed, either due to financial problems, lack of market or even technological problems. The auto industry in Portusgalia finnaly rise in the late 30s, when finnaly the governament decided it was a "strategic industry". The company "ASTRA", Aliança Siderúrguca e TRAnsportes, was born, building cheap cars till today.
The current model is the Astra Glamour, available in Powertrains of 700cc and 900cc.

Astra also builds trucks and vans. And since the mid 40ties armoured vehicles, although not up to much, and a bit outdated for the nowdays. This is due to underfounding of the projects by the governament.

Astra has plans to exapand over portusgalian borders and seduce more costumers. The Astra Valiant came to scene, and is the Car of the Year in Portusgalia. It is the first medium sized car ever made in Portusgalia. The engine is the new Astra 1200, the largest ever built for a car by Astra. The interior is more elaborate, the seats have good materials like leather or better fabrics. Astra Glamour now represent the economic car from Astra.

The Aeronautics
The massive overseas provinces impelled the portusgalians to search for new ways of travelling. One of them is airplanes. A small aeronautic company, CASA (Construtor Aeronáutico, Sociedade Anónima) in 1923, a joint venture between the State and a few tycoons. CASAs main costumers are landowners from Hymiar, specially Mozambia, who buy several light aircraft to sow fields by plane. It is faster and cheaper. Since Mozambia is so big, use them as "air cars" to travel fast between sites, where sometimes roads are bad, or don't even exist.
CASA is also the main source of military aircraft of the decrepit Royal Air Force. CASA engineers are in fact quite good, but governament underfounding makes all the difference. Since the Civil War of 1928, the Governament is very hick with the foreign investment in "Strategic Industries", because there is a fear of "technology theft" due to the fact that the Integralists had several foreign supporters, while the Neo-Septembrist fought almost alone, only with the main support of Mozambia. It has also a brand, Hispano Aviación, created by Alberto Hispano, an aeronautics passionate, (OOC: a kind of portusgalianHoward Hughes), owner of the Bangala Oil exploration, since he is one of the major share owner of the company, with 50% of it.
Bombers, the Portusgalian airforce doesn't know exactly what that is... They only relly on the CASA 2111:

The ASTRA company, with its new industrial complex in Lourenço Marques City, has brought the paradigm of all purpose/terrain vehicle to life. Heavily based on military cars, this is a civil version directed to the wild continent of Himyar where a road tends to be a luxury. The company ASTRA expects great sells from this colonial vehicle.
