EBRO BASIN - 4th of November
WRITTEN BY HAGALAR KOLDO

The Ebro Basin - one of Atoxo's grandest plains, often considered the cradle of Mendiak's former conventional enemies. During the Youth War, it was host to the seat of Koldobika's traditional fascist government. And now, after five years of ruthless insurgency across regions directly connected to the Ebro Basin, the fiend has returned. Not conventionally, no - but he hides his people among us. The local gendarme chief has claimed that like the cunning snake that killed Bitor, the "[C]orporatist enemy infiltrates every facet of Ebro's assembly."

This threat has not gone unnoticed by the Directorate, who have already sent three divisions of the Mendiak Republican Guard to root out the threat and maintain order in the region. The effectiveness of these elite units combined with the gendarme has given high spirits to the population of Eburan. Conservative assembly members, however, have made the claim that this will not have any effect. Instead, once again, the Conservative Korperban is attempting to push through the same Security and Protection Act which has been shot down twice. The primary opponents from the liberal party have claimed this legislation is wide-sweeping and reduces the rights of a regular Mendiak citizen.

BOMBING IN CAPITOL

A truck transporting several exports from Asajuan Harbor exploded while directly parked in front of the National Archive. Gendarme have not released details on casualties, but witnesses state that many people in the area were injured by the horrific blast.

NEW OFFENSIVE AGAINST INSURGENCY IN BOKO ISLANDS

After having been seized from the control of the Gendarme, the Boko Islands have hosted the worst of Kodobika's fascist underlings. Now used as a place of piracy and drug trade, Koldobika preys on the innocent by giving them poison. Gendarme Captain Gotzar Patxi, famous for his work in the book The New Opium, claims that synthetic controlled substances will be the future. In the tropical currents of Himyar and former Mendiak colonies, Patxi has also claimed that there is a new drug being synthesized - he claims this is "kokaina", produced from the leaf of the Himyarian coco. The ties of the Koldobika Corporatists to organized crime in and outside of Mendiak have been established before, but the scale of this is still unknown.

FASCIST REVOLUTIONARIES ARRESTED IN CAPITOL AFTER FAILED TERRORIST PLOT

After several weeks of investigation, today Gendarme Chief Sendoa Oroitz has announced the arrest of eight revolutionaries in the capitol who had plotted to explode a chemical device in the Director House. After the defeat of the Mendiak Corporatist Party in the Youth War, the "puma gerra" declared by Koldobika has seen funding funneled into the Gendarme and other security forces in order to defeat the threat. The eight revolutionaries will be interviewed by the Gendarme and put on trial by a panel of Getxo councilmen, although the Directory may step in directly to appoint judges for deliberation and turn the case into a federal matter.

"KOKAINA" OUTBREAK IN SOUTHERN MENDIAK

Once the hotbed of fascist uprising and calls to arms, southern Mendiak has become a breeding ground for criminal activity after the power vacuum of corporatists was left behind. The Ebro Plains have recently been plagued by a synthetic drug known simply as "kokaina", funneled from the jungles of Himyar into the hands of drug dealers on the streets of cities like Aredor and Basauri. The effects so far have been downplayed by local police, but the Gendarme, with support from the National Center for Health and Welfare, have made claims the drug is "an addictive poison by which the likes have never been seen."

FASCIST PIRACY OUT OF CONTROL

A naval vessel part of the First Defense Fleet was seized by Koldobikan Revolutionaries recently, a naval cruiser armed with a state-of-the-art 203 millimeter cannon. After having been captured, the ship sent out a distress beacon that was noticed by a nearby Gendarme cutter. The cutter supposedly spotted the vessel on the southern coast of Atoxo near Basajuan, but contact was lost - only another distress beacon was sent. The Gendarme Naval Corps has assured the public that "[Piracy] will not become an issue in the Varden Sea, the Navy is now assisting us with the situation."

The First Mendiak Defense Fleet has been dispatched in force to the Varden Sea, the straight between Andaluz and our mountain republic. The Directory has not made any statements on working with any other nations bordering the Varden Sea, although the Admiralty has expressed public concern for piracy against shipping in the area.

PRENTSA RETURN FROM BREAK - CHRISTMAS END
After a holiday hiatus, all public Mendiak press have returned to report you the news!

Christmas Offensive - Attack on the Islands
Gendarme officials have reported that during the scheduled downtime of press a massive offensive was launched into the interior jungles of our Varden possessions. Nearly fifty thousand troops, along with several thousand police and auxilary troops took part in the offensive to clear the islands of dissidents. An official statistic claims that guerilla activity has ceased across nearly 75% of formerly occupied possessions, but conservative estimates still claim that it will take at least a few months until, as quoted by politician Mortzi Gotpaxi, "[T]he final splinter will be burnt, and this horrible war will finally and formally end."

Conflict in Saaremaa
Director Otakar Bulunkin stated publically that the Mendiak People and The Nation's Government has observed the events of the Saaremaan conflict closely, and wishes sincerely that "[N]o innocent lives perish in a fruitless war where youth would better be spent learning and innovating."

Varden Sea Defensive Pact
The Directory as a collective has announced today that the Mendiak Assembly and Directory intends to propose both trade and protection pacts with local Varden Sea compatriots, claiming that all peoples that border the Varden Sea have the same intentions as the people of Mendiak. The Directory hope that the proposal spurns more economic activities and closer law enforcement cooperation within the Varden Sea.

37 ASSEMBLY MEMBERS ARRESTED - DIRECTOR BENAT EVICTED AND ARRESTED! GUNPOWDER PLOT PREVENTED - 48 MILITARY OFFICERS DETAINED

An hour ago, a massive police operation launched by the Federal Gendarme was launched during a session of the Assembly to arrest 37 Jai Kontserbadorea members and Director Jon Benat. Publically recorded, a large number of Gendarme stormed the building in a planned raid to catch all members in one place at one time - according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the planned arrest of this "conspiracy group" has been in the works since January of last year. Director Bikendi Oroitz of the Directory's Committee on Law Enforcement spoke publically moments ago over radio.

"This group of Jai Kontserbadorea members and the Director Benat have all been arrested with evidence built to the brim of an internal casefile. All of them are connected to the infamous antolakuntza, and this public arrest therefore shows how far the Corporatist Koldobikans have gone in terms of criminal enterprises. The rackets of the Koldobikans and antolakuntza are one in the same. The details of their plot included the capture of a naval vessel two months ago in order to shell the Asajuan Harbor as members of the so-called "Black Hand" in the military took the entire assembly hostage. Their plan was to be enacted on the 20th of January. Now, more than ever, it has been clear that the elements of corruption and fascism still exist within our own government, and the people must be wise in choosing their candidates. We have severed their connection to the mainland, now all that is left is to cut the head off of the snake."

Already, all of the convicted assembly members and Director Benat have been evicted by unanimous votes from their respective positions. Marxist-Leninovist party leader Argi Xabieri stated to all internal assembly members of his party that "The far-right spectre has been removed from this government, but we must be wary of attempts to expel our ideology and communes from this body. The Directory has begun to adopt overwhelmingly anti-left rhetoric as of late, comrades, and we cannot permit this to persist. Remember to vote, communards."

"GUERRILLA WAR AT AN END" CLAIMS DIRECTORY

After the "puma guerra" was proclaimed in the 30s, our people have fought against Koldobika's Black Hand Militia to the point of near extinction. With the goal of turning Mendiak into a far-right dictatorship, Koldobika's men have waged a war of terror and attrition against the country's top law enforcement and military officials. Now, the Directory claims this has come to an end. Director Oroitz stated on a television broadcast the following.

"Most of them are fleeing - imagery from scout aircraft report the guerrillas commandeering any ships to flee their island holdouts to destinations like the White Army of the far-North or other far-right countries that will welcome them. After their failed plot, we feel that it has shaken them to the core. Already the Gendarme has reclaimed two of their largest three holdouts to our southern possessions as if they were open cities."

FAR-LEFT MARXIST-LENINOVIST IP LEADERS UNDER RACKETEERING CHARGES

The Sergeant-at-Arms for the Assembly today spoke to a crowd of concerned citizens after the Assembly, almost unanimously by the three parties, were expelled from the Assembly following Gendarme arrests for racketeering charges. The charges come after their association with the antolokuntza's black market was discovered in a major Basajuan bust, showcasing blackmail of the highest members to "puppet master" them. The remaining Marxist-Leninovists within the Assembly have formed a coalition with the more moderate socialists and syndicalists, which many say has gained popularity over the recent years as Koldobika's influence has fallen in the South.

CONFIDENTIAL INTERNAL COMMUNIQUÉ
FROM: Office of the First Secretary of the Executive Committee of the International Association of Marxist-Leninovist Parties
TO: Argi Xabieri, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Marxist-Leninovist Jai
RE: Criminal charges and collaboration

Comrade Chairman Argi Xabieri,

The Central Committee of the International Association of Marxist-Leninovist Parties must remind its Mediak comrades of their duty to report any and all affairs concerning the integrity of its members. We are unhappy with the lack of communication concerning the alleged crime of racketeering claimed by the Mendiak National Assembly. If these allegations are indeed correct and not part of a ploy to discredit the Marxist-Leninovist Jai, we demand the immediate expulsion of all those involved from both the Party and the International. Racketeering is a crime that stands in sharp contrast to the ideals and goals of the international Marxist-Leninovist Movement as they exploit the proletariat rather than advancing it as it is writen in the charter of our great working class organization. Association with the crime of racketeering does not only hurt the Marxist-Leninovist Jai in Mendiak, but also the broader movement internationally and can therefore not be tolerated or be received with leniency in any way. We strongly urge the Marxist-Leninovist Jai to utilize the hardest sanction within the confines of its Party's disciplinary committee. All Marxist-Leninovist Parties have been thoroughly educated on the importance of maintaining strict party discipline for all its members and militants, and the Marxist-Leninovist Jai can not be the exception to the rule for it would be denying the guiding principles of its own ideology and that of its comrades throughout Europe.

The same rules apply for the fact that the leadership of the Marxist-Leninovist Jai has agreed to form a coalition with what Mendiak media described as 'moderate socialists and syndicalists'. As you know the International prohibits collaboration with enemies of the proletariat, including the capitalist left, certainly when it was not discussed within the numerous channels that lead from the Party to the International. In the past we have seen several examples of such collaboration proving to be an utter and complete failure. The most recent being the creation of 'Marxist-Leninovism with Lauenburger Characteristics' propagated by the former General-Secretary of the Lauenburg Marxist-Leninovist People's Union, which was later analysed by the Theoretical Bureau of the Central Committee of the International as both a theoretical and practical inherently flawed deviation from the Marxist-Leninovist ideological line. Johann Daas learned the hard way that collaboration with class-traitors such as moderate socialists only causes ideological weakening in favour the exploitation of the working class by maintaining the capitalist system. Johann Daas was indulged due to the prestige of his Party within the International, but our directorates clearly state that such a harmful direction will no longer be tolerated by any of its members. Sadly it seems necessary to remind the Marxist-Leninovist IP that such decisions, without consultation or discussion of any kind, have led to the expulsion of the Justinian Communist Party last year and the creation of the Justinian Communist Workers' Party which splintered the movement and allowed for the rogue regime to crack-down on the proletarian movements leading to several highly unfortunate deaths. If the leadership of the Mendiak Marxist-Leninovist Jai refuses to comply we will be forced to take similar steps which would mean the end of all political and financial support coming from the International and the Kadikistani State. More importantly it would lead to an end of the credibility of the Marxist-Leninovist Jai and will be interpreted as a dagger in the back of the international proletariat.

SIGNED,
_X_
Gen. Bramski Burukova
First Secretary of the Executive Committee of the International Association of Marxist-Leninovist Parties

COMMUNIQUE FROM UNKNOWN CABLE TO KADIKISTANI EMBASSY

I will not reveal my identity in the event the Mendiak Gendarme intercept this cable. Comrade Xabieri was arrested wrongfully by the government of Mendiak and convicted on false charges of racketeering. The government of Mendiak is rife with corruption, the proletariat would never work with the dreaded "antolakuntza". The only truth to the claims by the national news is that turncoats have sided with enemies of the proletariat. It appears the government was interested in extinguishing any potential "radical" groups left after the defeat of the far-right guerrillas. The IP has always had the ideals of our Kadikistani comrades in mind when governing, but the Directory and many of the internal comrades of our party have betrayed us in an act of corruption orchestrated by the puppet-masters of this capitalist nation, the antolakuntza. In the past the far-right has been thoroughly been aligned with this group of criminals to even fund their activities, and as a last death-knell we believe that "evidence" implicating us was picked up by conservative elements of the Directory to implicate the Jai.

There are plans in motion by those of us who are still loyal to the Jai to avoid capture and work underground. When there are secure cables established, we will communicate with our comrades in Kadikistan and other nations under the united flag of the proletariat to solve this issue.
