RESPECTED LEADER EXPRESSES SOLIDARITY WITH SOCIALIST WORLD

IN his first public address since the capital city was liberated by revolutionary forces, Respected Leader Jadugopal Basu, President of the People's Republic and General-Secretary of the Workers and Peasants Party, expressed feelings of unity and solidarity with the rest of the socialist world, which is now facing attack from all sides by reactionary powers. While lamenting the inability of Vangala to contribute to the defence of international socialism, he stressed the importance of consolidating the successes of the Revolution:

"The battle for the old Vangala is over, the battle for the new Vangala has just begun," He said, "The brave fighting men and women of the Revolution, who have seen so many of their comrades martyred in this great struggle, must remain with Mother Vangala until she is fully healed, and to ensure the sacrifices of their brothers and sisters were not in vain."

Respected Leader Basu also urged against ideological sectarianism, and warned Workers' Republic of Carentania not to abuse its position as the leading socialist nation. He in turn has promised to respect political pluralism within the Vangalan Workers' and Peasants' Party during his tenure as General-Secretary:

"Just as not one great river, but many great rivers, have made Vangala the beautiful and fertile land it is, so must the Party not have one great river of thought, but many great rivers of thought if we are to prosper."

In the same speech, made before thousands of proud revolutionaries assembled in newly-freed Kilkila, he further warned national divisionists not to continue their political and military activity:

"The lands and peoples that make-up Vangala have been bound together by the forces of history... the same forces of history that carried us into the capital, and the same forces that will lead you to your graves."

A full copy of the Respected Leader's speech can be found in this edition of the People's Voice.

The Workers' Republic reaffirms its commitment to friendship amongst all socialist brother nations and will stand in solidarity with the Vangalan people. It is not our aim to abuse the grace of an early revolution for petty nationalistic gains, when there is a free world to win.

The People's Republic likewise expresses its gratitude and friendship to the People's Republic of Vangala for its statement of solidarity, and hopes that our two nations might work together to not only spread worker's solidarity but also resolve global issues pertaining to imperialist or reactionary attempts to threaten the freedom and liberty of the proletariat.

YUJIN DECLARES WAR ON CARENTANIA AND HAVENSHIRE

IN a dramatic turn of events in the course of the Yujiner People's Revolution, the struggling Xiang Cabal has declared WAR on the socialist havens of Carentania and Havenshire after attempting to murder hundreds of political refugees and both countries' diplomatic staff. The combined will and might of Carentania and Havenshire prevented the deaths of their own representatives and many Yujiner citizens. Fighting now rages in the Yujiner city of Liangang as revolutionary forces attempt to liberate the area from Imperial control.

Respected Leader Jadugopal Basu raised concerns about the defence of the People's Republic and acted decisively, convening a meeting of the Supreme Revolutionary Command. After several hours of exhaustive deliberation, it was reluctantly decided for the recently adopted Constitution to continue to be suspended and the nation governed by emergency law. National Defence Minister Nurul Banerjee explained:

"Too much has been sacrificed to allow the Despot Qirui to disrupt the progress of the Revolution with threats and actual acts of violence."

Implementation of the Constitution has been delayed indefinitely until national security issues are successfully resolved. Celebrations concerning the political achievements of the Revolution have also been postponed. Elections for the National People's Assembly have further been delayed as well. The Supreme Revolutionary Command, under the guidance of Respected Leader Jadugopal Basu, will continue to rule the country. Chairperson of the United Motherland Front Subhas Basu, representing popular revolutionary organisations, welcomed the decision:

"The uncertainty that would be caused by the transition in leadership as a result of Vangala's first genuinely free and fair elections would be exploited by the militarists in Zhenjing to invade the People's Republic. In this time of crisis, we must display resolute leadership to deter our enemies from attacking us."

People's militias are already operating in the border regions, acting to maintain national and revolutionary unity threatened by the rogue actions of divisionists, who military officials suspect may be supported by outside powers. Further reinforcements will be deployed to guarantee the integrity of Vangala's territory.

Respected Leader Jadugopal Basu expressed his strongest sympathies with the revolutionary factions of Yujin, but spoke against intervention on their behalf:

"Revolution must not come from above or the side, it must come from below, from the people... I have full confidence that the Yujiner freedom-fighters have the necessary popular support to complete their historically-determined task... the Jade Throne shall crack."

Respected Leader Basu further mocked the ability of the Xiang Clique to harm the socialist republics of Carentania and Havenshire:

"The Yujin Empire is a tiger-wolf pretending to be a tiger."

VANGALA AND CARENTANIA STRENGTHEN FRIENDSHIP

RIJEKA was the scene of much excitement yesterday as External Affairs Minister Abdul Qamaruzzaman signed the first of a series of treaties between Vangala and Carentania, formalising the friendship between our two great revolutionary nations. The agreements resulted in a Carentanian guarantee of Vangalan independence and a promise of material aid for national reconstruction and development efforts. A joint statement of solidarity with the revolutionaries in Yujin was also issued.

The first Carentanian Ambassador will arrive in Kilkila shortly, where he will be greeted by President of the People's Republic and General-Secretary of the Workers and Peasants Party Jadugopal Basu in a ceremony to celebrate the new, stronger relationship between Vangala and Carentania. Kaushik Ghosh was named as Vangala's chief representative to Carentania by External Affairs Minister Qamaruzzaman, and has been received warmly by his Carentanian hosts.

A number of representatives of the popular revolutionary organisations of the United Motherland Front were also present at the proceedings, building fraternal bonds with their Carentanian counterparts.

Minister Qamaruzzaman has announced his intention to visit the other socialist nations of Havenshire, Parthava and Uygheristan. Miroslavl was not included due to unsure security conditions as a result of the ongoing war with the expansionist Mezhist Union.

Carentanian dignitaries will soon attend another round of discussions in Vangala to further enhance co-operation between our two states, as well as possible membership in the Revolutionary Defence Treaty Organisation.

'RICE AND PEACE'

The Workers and Peasants Party has renewed its original promise of 'Rice and Peace' to the Vangalan people, with the decisive defeat of the Yujiner Imperial Army and the momentous gains of the great land reform campaign allowing the Party to fulfill its historic pledge.

'Rice and Peace' was first promised to the Vangalan people after the Great Mutiny of 1951, when thousands of heroic conscripts defied the Franconian Empire following the needless deaths of their comrades forced to participate in an unjust imperialist war. This revolutionary slogan, which encapsulated three basic socialist principles of anti-feudalism, anti-militarism and anti-imperialism, mobilised the Vangalan masses into overthrowing the Franconian colonial regime and the later Franconian puppet government.

Extra foodstuffs from our revolutionary brother-states Carentania and Havenshire will ensure shortfalls in domestic food production caused by the deliberate devastation of agricultural land in Maga Province by the Yujiner invasion do not prevent the realisation of 'Rice and Peace' for all Vangalans.

Party officials have urged Vangalans to reject rumours of famine and hunger in the People's Republic, which have been fabricated by outside capitalist interests and inside feudalist remnants opposed to popular ownership and control of the food supply.

FEMALE SOLDIERS HONOURED

The successive achievements of Vangalan women serving in the People's Armed Forces have been recognised by a new monument in our glorious capital Kilkila. Combining traditional Vangalan styles of sculpture with the revolutionary art-form of socialist futurism, it depicts three female soldiers in combat pose. Further statues are planned for construction in Maga Province, where many female soldiers sacrificed themselves in defence of the Revolution and Motherland.

Representatives from all popular organisations of the United Motherland Front were present at the unveiling ceremony, with members of the Revolutionary Association of Vangalan Women and League of Revolutionary Writers and Artists taking a leading role in the proceedings.

Women have been an active component of the Revolution since the colonial era, when Vangalan women in both the villages and cities co-ordinated resistance to imperialist rule. Noting recent debates within the Carentanian military over the efficacy of deploying female soldiers, National Defence Minister Nurul Banerjee has invited Carentanian military officials to visit female units of the Vangalan People's Armed Forces.
