@ I named it ''Ponto-Scania'' when I was doing up a region map, because it was between Scania (Island with Ostveg) and Pontus (Bit with Cidonia). But the name was purely provisional. If you come up with a name yerself you can always try and get it the main name. It's as simple as it being a catchy name, and then using it a lot to get it into peoples minds.

Also @Yanksy I shall take the time to make the official request for the huge lake on eastern Ivernia to be drained substantially. I'll be posting a link to a map in this post - I'm working on it now, so you can have a gander for yourself of the proposed resized lake.

EDIT: Here is the post on my factbook containing the map:

Ivernia Yes it'd be good to have a nice, catchy name for it so you can talk about the sub-continent in a larger sense.

Hibernia? Mercia? Fresia? Iceni? Saxonia?

Hibernia I think would be too well-known a name. Or would it? I mean we also use ''Germania,'' not exactly inspired. Maybe use Hibernia or something as the catch-all celtic area.

I actually wouldn't mind us going with this, since naming geographical areas after old players is still something of a small tradition of ours.

Only half of the nations on it are celtic, I'd say we should have something that speaks of all the national entities on the continent.

Oh yeah I think there was a word floating around the IRC for that. Gallo-Fennia, Gallo-Esti, or something along those lines.

I;m personally fine with it, but Ommeroth is the one to ask.

Are the continent names written down anywhere? I'm still trying to get my head around the new maps and nations. I haven't played since the old days when it was a totally different globe.

Well you can find them , though this is based on the pre- NPC holocaust update map.

We don't have regional names on the map, and if we did it really would be up to the players in that region to decide themselves. That said I support Gunnlandia as the widely world accepted name for the region.

Eiff: By the way, are there any countries with English as native language?

Xenn: Sylvania, Seneca, Engellex, Ommeroth?

I got the bi-lingual Austwegian/Engellexic thing going on, to be unnecessarily technical - but English speakers would be available in all government and business situations, to be certain.
