BREAKING: Chancellor Dies in Shocking Coup, Gen. Declares New Era

SOL, Angliarique (RPnews) –

Incumbent Angliarique Chancellor Lord Banker was killed during a heated argument with a General from the Valerian Guard. According to several established sources that claimed they were present in the Chancellor’s office at the time the killing took place, the General had demanded from the Chancellor to withdraw the Empire’s support for the Alfonist Fighters in Ebria, due to a host of moral reasons and ethical concerns.

Meanwhile, the Interior Governor Lord Henry confirmed the death of the Chancellor in a written statement to the Regnal Press. He stated, “The government is shocked that this act of murder took place, and we promise to pursue all avenues available in order to bring the assassin to court. He must face justice.”

The man at the centre of infamy, currently being accused for murdering the Chancellor, is widely-believed to be Gen. Ordigen Loaphas, who minutes following the Interior Governor’s public confirmation of the Chancellor’s death, gave a live video-broadcast viewed by millions of netizens in the Angliarique Empire. The broadcast showed the General brandishing a gun believed to have been used to carry out the Chancellor’s murder, and the General himself repeatedly prophesising that a ‘New Era’ in Angliarisian politics had finally begun to take shape.

The video has gained massive traction on social media, and most Angliarisians are believed to be supporting the General’s New Era cause. This unprecedented event has also placed the Royal Family in a difficult situation, needing to balance the delegated powers against their own, as well as maintaining the happiness of the people, the Royal Family has yet to respond directly about the situation, but has characterised it as urgent.

Nonetheless, several members of the Interior Army including the armed components in the Unified Force have voiced their protest against the General’s declaration. The Navy and Airforce have declared their neutrality for the foreseeable future, with its spokesman stating, “We do not condone acts of terror, no matter who commits it. This is an improper exercise of military power; the Regent must act quickly to diffuse the tense situation and restore order.”

The statement by the Navy & Airforce have also been echoed by the Premier of the Spascirian Republic, VichyCha Aldewaiss, who stated on the telephone with the Regnal Press, “The death of anyone is most often quite saddening. The last time I saw Mr Banker was only days ago, and at that time he was a cheerful man and I’m sure his people are quite sad as well… but I do think… the Regent of Angliarique should get his house in order… I think that should be the main priority right now.” The Premier further asserted that the internal affairs of Angliarique should be discussed with Angliarisians, and insisted he had no interests in the matter.

BREAKING: Carpathian, Darkford Regiments Form Resistance Front

SOL (RPnews) –

Two of the three major land forces of the Unified Force have agreed to form an armed coalition of resistance together, to confront ‘serious’ threats posed by the New Era declaration of Gen. Ordigen Loaphas and the Valerian Guard. The Regent has yet to comment on the new development.

The Regnal Press however, was able to communicate directly with the coalition via an anonymous link, and has gathered details to what they’re all about.

The armed coalition describe themselves collectively as ‘CDR’ or the Carpathian-Darkford Resistance Movement.
According to their leader, Gen. Joseph Bachia or as he prefers to be known as Mr General, the CDR has approximately 70,000 troops in its ranks which rivals the latest known figures (from months ago) of the 30,000 special forces units which the Valerian Guard has. And when pressed about reservists joining the CDR, Mr General insisted that everyone was onboard with the resistance movement.

When asked what were the priorities of the CDR and what it hoped to achieve, Mr General gave a straightforward response, saying, “We are fighting for a noble cause, to give everyone some peace you know? We have a duty as servicemen for the Empire, we cannot let our country fall into the hands of some rogue commander. So, that’s why we came up with this idea, to combine the strength and discipline of the two armies for the better of everyone.”

However, Mr General was not too pleased when he was pressed about his loyalty to the Royal Family. He was asked a simple question by our senior political correspondent Ms Margrethe. The question, “How do you think the Regent will react when you announce that you have by a large extent, unilaterally combined the two forces without permission given by the Head of State and Government?” His response, “You’ve asked the wrong question, whether or not our movement is permissible is not relevant. What is relevant is getting fighters to the capital where we can then free the government from this disaster!”

The CDR Leader refused to comment further.

BREAKING: CDR Nears Capital, Regent Gets Death Threat

SOL (RPnews) –

General Joseph Bachia's major coalition of armed resistance fighters, identifying as the CDR, have according to intelligence data gathered by the Darkford Security Bureau (DSB), purportedly set up camp in the isolated wine-making Town of Doson Mattar. Since then, worry has grown for the fate of the town's inhabitants numbering just under 5,000 people. While the Regency Council condemned the CDR's takeover of the town, characterising it has a major hostage-taking terror event.

The CDR has made no official comment on the matter, but sources close to Gen. Bachia confirm the 'close proximity' of the fighters to the capital.

Meanwhile, a wax-sealed envelope rumoured to be delivered by a carrier pigeon (if true, a first in Angliarisian history) was accidentally received by a gardener of the Royal Pigeon Racing Keep. The envelope was believed to have been addressed to the Regent, and so, was brought to the attention of His Grace.

Under the promise of anonymity, a source close to the Regent divulge details about the contents of the envelope. It was revealed that the envelope was sealed by a wax stamp with the fingerprint of Gen. Bachia imprinted into it. According to the source, the envelope was checked for hazardous material and then opened by the DSB's forensic department. The envelope contained a letter dyed blue, which upon close inspection was confirmed to be a typewritten document. The letter was sent with intent by Gen. Bachia to the Regent, and as the source reveals His Grace has read it.

The letter confirmed Gen. Bachia's threat against the Regency Council as government of the Angliarique Empire. And revealed further, that the 'End Times' for the Regent, the Royal Family, and the Council, would be soon.

A request for the Regent's comment was denied.

BREAKING: Pressburg Forces Aid CDR Attack on Capital

SOL (RPnews) –

This morning, reports from the capital of the Angliarique Empire stunned thousands, after it was revealed that the Pressburg military machinery and personnel were still hosted comfortably within Angliarisian territory, and now apparently aiding the CDR's attack against the Regency Council at the capital. Despite the Regency Council's announcement from more than a week ago, that the Empire would be withdrawing from the Pressburg Pact. The news has thus come as a shock to many including the Regent who view the continued presence of Pressburg personnel as a serious threat to life.

The news story shocked the Regent personally. His Grace released a letter addressing the issue stating, "This act of trecheary is most vile. Pressburg forces have been given ample time to vacate the territorial boundaries of Angliarique. Therefore, the prolonged presence of them is most unreasonable. I implore the Pressburg diplomatic service to appreciate the Regency Council's demands."

Meanwhile, Gen. Joseph Bachia confirmed in a letter to the Regnal Press, that Pressburg personnel have been helping the CDR's fight in the Angliarisian capital. In the letter he stated, "We are facing resistance, but indeed not for long. I trust that soon our friends in Pressburg will join with us for the final leg of this battle. The CDR will restore power to the masses and outcast the tyrant in council."

BREAKING: Faced with Surrender, Airstrike Pummels Capital on Regent’s Orders

SOL (RPnews) –

The Angliarisian Capital today was met with several waves of airstrikes, only days apart from Pressburg's bombing of the same area. The Regency Council claimed responsibility for the attack, justifying the destructive move as necessary. “We held an emergency meeting, and in light of the CDR having actually real potential of overrunning our forces, we made the decision for the squadrons of the Airborne Vanguard to reinforce the capital’s defence.” A spokesman for the Council stated.

It is not known if the airstrikes have killed any civilians or CDR fighters, but experts believe after witnessing the destruction of numerous civilian infrastructures such as hospitals and schools, that at least 25,000 people could have died, not including losses between warring parties. However, after a request for comment, the Regency Council disputed the estimate, claiming that the attack had severely damaged the CDR though without evidence, and that there was no loss of civilian life.

Despite this, the CDR’s leader Gen. Bachia believes his fighters could seize the capital by sundown, claiming that the Regent’s forces have been undermined by corruption within its ranks, and on a purely arithmetic basis, overwhelmed by the number of armed fighters. However, the general’s ambitions may be stifled by the Regent’s call for passive resistance if the Regency forces are decimated, without civilian cooperation and supporters from the working classes, this would effectively end Gen. Bachia’s bid for control of the empire.

BREAKING: Protests Erupt in Darkford, Classes Unite to Overthrow Bachia's CDR

SOL (RPnews) –

Student leaders from the political aristocracy backed by elitist parents, and influential socialists within Darkford City's labour classes, have revealed themselves from the shadows of Angliarique's extreme class-based political with an unexpectedly united movement.

Students in Darkford City College, and the Darkford Peddlers Association which includes much of the city's work unions, have banded together to protest against the CDR's occupation of Darkford.

The students identifying themselves as the Yellow Coats, are associated with the Spurmur Society, an exclusive club in Darkford with branches throughout the Empire where the wealthy elite are believed by many political pundits to influence much of the Empire's political and economic direction. With the advent of agreement between the elitist student groups and the lowly peddlers, analysts now believe Angliarique's social classes have lost their patience for the CDR's fight against the Regency Council. Mounting evidence which suggests this, is the new wave of protests across Darkford City that has seen the Yellow Coats and peddlers, refusing to continue study and working, an act of passive resistance against the CDR that many experts believe will have severe repurcussions for the city's economy and more so for the CDR finances which come from taxing city workers. The CDR and Gen. Bachia have yet to react, perhaps symbolising the overthrow of the CDR in Darkford.

BREAKING: Pressburg Carrier Survived Attack, says Admiral

SOL (RPnews) –

The Pressburg-linked carrier stationed in Angliarique, and subsequently defied expulsion orders by the Regent after Angliarique left the Pressburg Pact, which has been backing the CDR's fight for air superiority over the Sanctum of Laurels, has been hit during a naval attack on the vessel conducted at midnight yesterday. This development was made public by the Sir Yoseff Darren, the de facto Admiral of the Navy & Airforce.

"At twelve in the morning, I issued orders for the immediate compromise of the Pressburg Carrier aiding CDR forces in Angliarique. The mission was executed with limited success, and utilised three corvettes. According to the mission report, our ships performed the attack utilising AN11 anti-ship missiles, a total of 24 cells were launched, still only 4 have managed to hit it. However, we are not discouraged by the results. Moreover, I would like to communicate an public ultimatum to the sailors to surrender peacefully, they will be given 12 hours to consider this. If not, we will proceed with an all attack on the vessel." The admiral said after being asked about the next step forward.
