Leader of Italic Brotherhood sued for threats
29/8/52 - Giorgia Lo Russo, leader of the national conservative party Italic Brotherhood, has been recently sued by an activist group called Vita Nuova, for some alleged threats that she and her staff had been making in the past weeks. According to the activist Massimo Bellini, Mrs. Lo Russo repeatedly threatened the group and its members both through social media and interview. "For examples," says Mr. Bellini "Yesterday Mrs. Lo Russo wrote a post on Twatter declaring that she will 'terminate' our group. To me, that seems a clear attempt at intimidation". According to her opponents, Mrs. Lo Russo is trying to 'shutting down' the opposition to a new bill, proposed by her party, that will ban double citizenship. Anyway, during an interview in a popular talk show, she rejected the accusation: "I was referring to their aggressive attitude, not to the group itself" she declared.

Manifestation in Milano against augmentations testing on animals
30/8/52 - Today, over 15 thousand people attended a manifestation against the testing of mechanical augmentations on animals in Milano. "Even though animal testing is severely limited and regulated for cosmetics and pharmaceutics" precise Angela Malato, one of the activists attending the manifestation, "The law still does nothing to prevent testing of mechanical augmentations. That's what we want to achieve: the same regulations for that kind of experimentation too". Currently, there are no motions to update the policies by the parliament, but it's hoped that this kind of manifestation can bring the issue into the spotlight. A petition on Changement.org has already reached 20000 signatures and the number is steadily increasing.

Great Celebrations in Roma
4/9/52 - There was great participation yesterday, 3rd September, for the highly anticipated celebration for the reopening of Roma's most famous monument, the Colosseo, and the 28th Anniversary of the foundation of the Regnum. The entire city has been well prepared to welcome the event, with high-security measures and an appropriate downsizing of road traffic. Various foreign representatives attended the celebration, President Edward Kenway and Prime Minister Aron Zoega from Laver Island and Vice President Rafael Smirnak from Kirostan among the others, paying tribute to the King and his family. The ceremonies started in the early afternoon, with a military parade and the Frecce Tricolori exhibition over the Campidoglio at 2 PM, continuing throughout the evening with the ceremony for its reopening to the public at 6 PM and the traditional concert inside the Colosseo at 8 PM. “When we approached the restoration project for the first time, we felt almost unworthy to put our hands on those ancient walls.” declared Davide Mastrangelo, the overseer of the restoration's operations, “But it was a necessary job and I think we did it in the best way possible”. According to Antonino Colonna, Mayor of Roma since 2046, “The restoration was surely slow, yet this kind of 'things' requires lots of precision and attention, and we are sure they were precise indeed. The city suffered a lot because the earthquake, but this celebration shows how indomitable our spirit is”. Words of approval come also from Prime Minister of the Regnum, Alessandro Marsala: “It is days like these that we must remember. For those who are not with us anymore and for those who still are”. At the end of the concert, the King himself gave a speech about the goals the country has achieved during this 28 years and how most of the merits for this are due to the extraordinary value of the Italians, of which the Colosseum is a witness over the centuries. “Today, the thing I'm most proud of is not being the Rex but being Italian” he stated during the speech. The night continued with a private galà, at the Royal residence on the Albani Hills, which was attended by the entire royal family, all the highest offices of the state and the entire foreign delegation. The night was closed by a beautiful firework display that illuminated the sky of the capital.

The Esperic Pact is now a reality
18/10/53 - After a week of negotiations, yesterday our Minister of Foreign Affairs, Carlo Viticelli, and the Corthaenian Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Alexandra Manuella, have finally agreed and signed a treaty to extend and foster international cooperation and assistance between the two countries. The agreement has been called 'Hesperic Pact', from the traditional name of the sea between Sardinia and Balearics and from the term the ancients Greeks used to refer to Italy and Spain. Among the terms of the treaty, there is a common emergency fund for disasters like earthquakes and eruptions and the mutual defensive agreement in case of aggression from external threats as well as the creation of an international counter-terrorism unit to prevent and repress terrorism activities in the two countries. The agreement was welcomed by parties across the whole political spectrum, even some National Conservative ones, like Fratellanza Italica, have appreciated the creation of a tie with a traditionally conservative country and the continuation of a national security improvement policy. Voices of dissent have come instead from the most intransigent parts of the political scenario, with the most extreme parties that challenge the loss of sovereignty on one side or the marked militaristic meaning on the other. According to the Prime Minister of the Regnum, Alessandro Marsala, instead "This pact is an opportunity to create a bound with a friendly and democratic country. Our sovereignty is not being questioned and the defensive net we are creating will make both countries safer and more prosperous".

Not a Bridge but a Tunnel for the Strait of Messina
10/10/53 - The idea of 'Bridge over the Strait' is kinda redundant in Italian politics since at least the 90s. Every government since the fall of the so-called 'First Republic' in 1994 had promised us the Bridge and every time we had got to nothing. But, this time, we talk about a Tunnel. Prime Minister Marsala, in fact, today in a statement to the press said: "Past governments always used the Bridge as a move to gain quick popularity. Then it became 'inconvenient' to talk about it, especially since the Uprising and after that many experts spoke about the 'unreliability' of such project. We [The Rex and the Council] really want to overcome this stain and have already presented a draft for the creation of the 'Messina's Tunnel'". The idea of a tunnel itself is not new, yet is the first time that is brought to the Parliament as a real project. "We still don't know when the works will start" added Prime Minister Marsala "But we have already got the approval of many technicians and experts from all around the world".

Communism Refounded on the rise
29/9/53 - "A new age for communism is at the door, comrades! And we must take it now!". These were the first words spoken by Marco Fogli, Chairman of Communism Refounded, at the XXII Communist Congress in Genova. Indeed, according to the most recent national polls, the party is quickly rising in popularity since the last election in 2050, moving from a 2% approval rating to an estimated 4% this September. The speech continued with an invite to all the minor parties, both local and national, to unite to bring the revolution to its decisive stage. "The Marxists must be united to persist onto this path!" he declared to our correspondent at the end of the conference "I'm sure that together we can do it! We will prevail!"
