Operation Neptune
Secret Op
Darkness approached on the horizon, since late afternoon the cargo ship had been shadowed by the submarine Bditelny from the depths below. The ship in question was a medium sized cargo vessel registered in the Republic of Remion. The crew was aware of their task, they had been briefed by the officers aboard the ship of the situation still unfolding as all diplomatic efforts were being exhausted for the return of the 250 soldiers still held captive by the Republic. The officers themselves of the submarine were only aware of their half of the mission, an operation completely off the books. The Meridian had became the sight of multiple Imperial vessels over the Pannonian conflict, and the high tensions had kept their presence enhanced in the region
Another 50 nautical miles south-west working in tandem without the submarines knowledge was the Battlecruiser Vechny. The Officers aboard and those in the electronic warfare suite knew the mission they had been tasked with, the rest of the crew was in the dark. As the sun went down they would begin interference with the navigation system aboard the cargo ship distorting their true location while also simultaneously jamming communication too and from the ship.

2030 hours gentleman, we are still a go for the mission correct?
Yes Captain! We have received no transmissions to say otherwise.
For the boys still captive in Remion. Its time to feed the fish.
Two torpedoes from the Bditelny raced thru the sea towards their unsuspecting target, as they entered the designated killbox they armed themselves.
3.......2......1..... the sound of the successful kill was confirmed by those listening. The Bditelny then proceeded to return to a new patrol zone of the Meridian, believing they were leaving them to all die.
Meanwhile aboard the Vechny they had successfully fooled the navigational systems aboard the cargo ship, making them believe they were in a different location than they were, leading the ship astray enough it would not be at the coordinates they believed they were at. Communications from the vessel were blocked, they would believe they were reporting an SOS that could be heard by all, but in reality nobody was hearing anything. Twenty minutes after the initial attack the first helicopter from the battlecruiser lifted off heading in the actual known position of the cargo ship, it was to "rescue" the twenty-three men aboard.
Two hours later all the crew were aboard and the Vechny was heading back to port in the Noks Free State with the "rescued" crew. Nobody knew any better, they thought they were safe and had been lucky enough for a military vessel to have been close enough to render aid, the crew of the Vechny was friendly tending to their needs, it made them feel safe. They were told they would be heading towards the nearest naval facility to be medically cleared by naval doctors and to see their respected consular officials to make arrangements to return home.
