Government Looking for Outside Investment

Today the National Diet announced the creation of a new committee aiming to bring in more outside investment. This comes after it was revealed the government is spending over $250 million in subsidising the manufacturing industry. They also urged the finances committee to review what to do with the $440 million surplus. The National Diet's more conservative members are against the continuing subsidisation of businesses however after the Yen being surprisingly strong the government has decided to subsidise industry to help it's growth. The Diet also called on the National Bank to devalue the Yen to boost the industry but it is yet to be seen if this will happen.

Relations with Huaxhi Empire a Must says Businessmen

Businessmen around the nation are calling for the government to strengthen ties with Huaxhi. This is in a bid to export to the 650 million people living within the nation. The Ministry of State has yet to reply but it is expected they will follow the advice. The Huaxhi Empire is one of the biggest economies in Europe and trading with them would be an honour for our nation as they have economic allies around Europe and can easily help us gain access to more markets.
Ryokutō is one of the largest rice exporters in Europe also meaning the possibility for the Huaxhi to buy our rice is very high.

Tea Drinking On the Rise

The amount of people drinking Green Tea is on the rise according to a recent survey. The amount of people drinking the traditional drink slumped following the scandal when it was revealed that the tea was being harvested by slaves but now it is on the rise again. In Nariya Prefecture alone there has been a 5% rise in people drinking the drink. The nations largest tea company Midori has said that it is excellent news and that they hope it will help them get back into profit. The number of people drinking tea seems to have been rising with the economy meaning that the more money the people are earning, the more they can afford to buy the drink. This is great news for companies like Midori.

Our own Empire, which was fortunate enough to undergo a similar process of industrialisation in the late 18th and 19th centuries would be more than willing to cooperate with you on this matter, so as to ensure a joint prosperity for both of our nations and regions as well as Europe as a whole.

Signed and Sealed,

Principal Magistrate calls for more workers to move to Cities

The Principal Magistrate has called for more men and women to migrate to the cities. This comes as more international companies begin to move into Ryokuto due to it's low taxes and cheap labour.

The Principal Magistrate made the call at todays gathering of the Royal Council. He did this in hopes of prompting further economic growth within Ryokuto. It came at the same time as a new group of reforms which included lowering corporate taxes, increasing the maximum number of work hours per week and selling off state owned industries to corporations. The Magistrates call could prove to be useful after the economy suffered it's worst month this year but we will have to wait and see if it has any affect. In the speech he made this is what he said.

"The economy of Ryokuto is in dire need of an extra push to make it grow further. I have come up a list of reforms which will help this. These include lowering corporate taxes, increasing the maximum number of work hours per week, selling off state owned industries, creating special free trade zones and building more infrastructure projects. I also wish to call on all Ryokutans whether they are men or women to migrate to cities and towns and begin to work in the manufacturing industry. I also wish to thank skilled Ryokutan innovators who are beginning to export to the world."

Following his speech the Principal Magistrate received a massive applause from many members of the Royal Assembly including representatives of the farmers who are traditionally against urbanisation. The move will be seen as a massive boost to the outside companies moving in to Ryokuto.
