SOCIALIST INTERNATIONAL
The Mission
The Socialist International is an international, pan-European association of all socialist political parties, coalitions, and movements the world over, with a view to furthering world socialist unity, left-wing internationalism, and solidarity. The Socialist International explicitly aims to advance socialist government and liberation, and to guard against fascist, reactionary, imperialist, and other counter-revolutionary forces.
The Socialist International operates as a permanent forum for dialogue and cooperation in pursuit of its objectives. Moreover, it includes several sub-organisations and associated bodies, to allow specific non-party entities and sub-national, regional or non-governmental groups to operate under its auspices. Civil society, artistic, cultural, economic and other initiatives are promoted through these bodies.
The Socialist International is open to socialist states of all persuasions and waves, without discrimination. It is an international brotherly organisation without any one leading state or party, whose members are free to decide the parameters of their cooperation. The body is headquartered in the Palace of Internationalism in Propontis, which was donated for the organisation's exclusive use by the Pelasgian People's Republic, a founding member. All members are expected to contribute to the organisation's budget, though initial operating costs have been covered by the Pelasgian People's Republic.
Leadership and Officers
The organisation's meetings are organised by a Secretariat, whose members and Secretary General are nominated by the organisation's members. The permanent support staff of the organisation are hired from citizens of members' home countries, subject to the supervision of the Presidium.
